I seriously thought screen printing was a lot more complicated than this! Wow!
Not at all!
Thanks! My son races dirt bikes and I wanted to make his support team and sponsor's all a t-shirt. I may just have to give screen printing a try. It looks easier than I expected!
Yes! I think this would be a great option! Let us know how it goes! Www.facebook.com/groups/kimandgarrettmakeitgroup
Rad!! Best BMX movie of all time!!
YES that's right!!
Great tips for finding center of tshirts! Thanks!!
Love the red one! It really pops!
Thank you!
i think we need Garrett's mom to make a guest appearance and bring along some more wee lil Garrett photos
No Thank You! ~garrett 😆😇
Yes, please 😃
@@KimandGarrettmakeit 😂😂😂 she can definitely make a guest appearance without the pics.....BUT she needs to do at least 1 or 2 of the "Steeeep 1" 😂 maybe have her do what she's best at with y'all and teach us something new.
I loved the movie Rad. Been many many years.
So glad to hear someone else has heard of it :)
Loved your video. Interesting to see screen print. Thanks so much!
I LOVE the logo! I like the vinyl shirt, but that could just be the shirt itself and not because it’s vinyl. I just like how the white pops on that shirt. The black ones look nice as well. Thanks for showing another way of making shirts (screen printing)!
Thanks Rachel! We are torn between logo designs. We are going to post them for you to vote. Keep an eye out! Are you going to try the screen printing? Show us what you make!
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Can’t wait to vote! If I do the screen printing, I will definitely show y’all what I make!
I LOVE it!!! The screen just like red....lol and I hope 2021 doesn't suck either!!!!! Let's meditate together
LETS
I used to use iron on from Avery. I always wanted to know how to make screen printing. Thanks a bunch.
Happy to help! I have been waiting to do this project for a year. I did end up making some Rad Racing Shirts too. LOL
My trick from when I embroidered about 15 years ago is to fold in the middle vertically and then fold right under the sleeves horizontally, then press. It will give the exact center mark of where you should put the center of your design. Love the new logo. Screen printing is so much easier.
Also, I made my own screens like IkonArt sort of with screen silk and iron on. I just spray adhesive on the back to get it to stick to the shirt instead of using the wood screen and I have an accordian file with a bunch of them. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you so much!! That is such a good tip :')
Love the new logo
I love and enjoy you guys!!!
Love love love the new logo too
LOVE the new logo!!!!
Thank you!
Great job Kim you sure make this a lot easier! Keep them coming for newbie’s!!♥️🇨🇦
Thanks Connie! Any requests?
@@KimandGarrettmakeit How to apply vinyl to wood! 😁🇨🇦
Layering is another.Thanks Kim♥️🇨🇦
You guys are awesome!! I had STARTED with screenprinting from my small apartment then all the chemicals and trying to wash it out and not have my kitchen sink and counter from looking like a disaster (spattering of stuff everywhere...such a mess) and now use HTV. Seeing you guys compare the differences and labor for either is very refreshing to us who have/still are doing either of these process and helps us remember why we use whatever process we do to suit our needs at the time. Pros and cons to both!! Thanks so much...love your chemistry together.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy it. :) plm3
Thank you for showing the screen printing! I’ve wanted to try it and now I will!
Have fun! and show us what you make! Thanks CraftyGirl!
I am so excited to try the screen printing. I have always wanted to but never really knew how. Thank you guys so much for the amazing tutorial! I'll post pics in the Facebook group if I ever get time to do it!!
Hey Megan! Glad you liked it! You should totally do it, it's super easy. WHEN (not if) you do it, post your pictures.
3rd times the charm! Always wanted to try screen printing! Thank you for sharing. No doubt Garrett can build a jig for the screen printing screen so that you wouldn't need someone to hold the screen down. Love the new logo in white! However I think a colorful (but not too colorful) logo would match both your lovely and lively personalities. ❤️
The movie Rad! Anxious to see the craft room reveal. Enjoyed the video
Debbie! You got it! Best movie, EVER! The craft room reveal is going to be next week... or the week after. We are still putting it back together. Thanks for watching!
I love you guys, thank you for sharing your craft
Thanks for watching! It's our pleasure
I like the new logo! Thanks for showing the screen way, I had no idea! Great video!
Thanks! Glad you like it! We are torn between logo designs. We are going to post them for you to vote. Keep an eye out!
Y'all are my new favorite! 😉
Thanks so much!
This is awesome! just got my heat press in today. My daughter and I are looking forward to making our own t-shirts and this video helped so much. Thank you and have a great weekend.
That is awesome! Glad we could help :)

Noted!
Love the logo! Can’t wait to see the remodeled craft room❤️❤️❤️
Yay! Thank you!
Suggestion: When folding over the htv for finding the center, fold it the other way (non-sticky side to non-sticky side).
Lol, right?! I’m not sure why I folded it sticky side in?!!
Good morning! I'm gonna have to try the screen printing! Y'all will have to do a video using multiple colors please🤗
We will! Kim is already on it.
Yay! Can’t wait.
Great job, as always! Love the new logo

TY for a great tutorial!! I'm just starting with My Cricut and need all the help I can get! #Kim & #Garrett you both are such a great team!! Now every step I do I'll hear him in my head with a throw down...Steeep 1.... steeep 2...lol
Wonderful! That's what I love to hear! lol plm3
I've watched this video again. Lol I realized I forgot to mention that I'm happy for you that y'all are growing. Excited to see the new craft room AND Logo!! I'm also going to try to screen print after I get the hang of making a few shirts. I'm nervous yet very excited to get started. I just placed my order for my heat press and extra accessories eeek!!
Great video guys! Really thought screen printing was more involved, but you guys made it look easy! New year, new logo, love it!
Thanks! We did too honestly lol
Great video and instruction. As a new Cricut owner learning the basics is very important, so thanks so much for sharing. Look forward to your videos each week, keep them coming. New logo is great. Have a great week. Love PegEgg

Okay, maybe I don't need the exposure unit :) I will have to try this and get my press in action! TY for the suggestion.
Thanks for watching!
Love the logo -also I wish you were on more then once a week- it seems like forever from one to the other-of course I am not the one making the videos which I know takes awhile to do so in the meantime I will wait patiently for your next video-Love the two of you have a great week-hugs
Maybe one day! We hope to do 2 a week soon!
2020 is now 20(21) and started drinking lol. Happy New Year.
HA! Right?!? Started off It's 20(21rst) with a round of shots... Kids... Hopefully, It will snap out of it by It's 20(25th) birthday.
Hey if you guys use a heat gun (low setting and just for a couple seconds) or blow dryer on the vinyl and silk screen it will make a WAY BETTER seal! TRUST ME! I did this quite a bit, but now I have a hack for DIY chalk couture stencils. They are sort of like the ikonart stencils, well I guess they are a DIY hack for those as well, lol. Just way cheaper.
I am super interested in learning how to do DIY Chalk Courture. Please share more info with me?
Ohhh good tip! THank you!
We have a full DIY Chalk Courture video!
I love that movie as well, that u guys have clips of! But I can’t remember the name of it😁
Rad
Thank u 😊
I'm going to try the screen printing. I have done the heat vinyl before.
Yes let us know how you do!
My only new best friend 🤣
Good ideal, but needing two people might be a problem for the screen printing for some of us😌
Pigskins and Pigtails has a bunch of screenwriting videos too!
cool!
Love this can u guys do more on screen printing clean up and all
We'll try!
Great Video guys ❤️🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Garret and Kim, would you be able to apply HTV over the paint? I have a design that would need to be customized, (the lettering on the second layer is fine lettering) but the first layer can be done in bulk and ahead of time. Thank you for this content, my mind is spinning with all the possibilities.
When setting the paint on the screen printing how hot is your easy press and for how long?
My husband and I have always wanted to do this. Thank you so much for the how too video. Y’all are awesome!!
Hi Hudsondna! Oops, forgot to mention the heat and time. We set our EasyPress to 375° F and pressed it for 1 minute. Thanks for the support!
Lol, he just does not like to wait! I died laughing from the look on his face. Lol
Can you tell he never out grew his ADHD? 😆
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Yup, lol
Love, Love, Love watching you guys! Can you let us know where you purchase your T shirts please! Good T shirts are hard to find and I love the look of these. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!
Just from amazon!
Good morning, great job. I learn so much from you guys. Love the shirts. I like the logo looks great. Like to see the color logo too... Do u guys sell shirts? How much do u sell them for? Keep up the great work. P.S. love your sign in the background hello 2021 please don't suck lol...
Thanks Scott! Once we decide on the logo, we will do a video on doing mutli color HTV and Screen Printing. Then we will start selling shirts. Fingers crossed on 2021! LOL
GOOD JOB! Might want to tell your newbies that they can find the heat setting for the vinyl through Cricut or from what ever brand they are using. I am wondering if this might be a way to use a "stencil" more than once for a sign. Hmmm
Good point!
I LOVE THE NEW LOGO I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU USE THE NEW LOGO!!!
WE'RE workin on it!
beatiful logo your a creat teachers
Thanks so much!
I love yall! What is the temperature and minutes for the Cricut Easypress for the screen print? I'm excited to do it now. I like the new logo too.
Just until it sticks, the time and temperature will vary!
Let me start by saying you guys are great! Love your videos and look forward to them every week. I have a quick question.... I know this week it's about how to make shirts using the Cricut. I have a Cricut and Silhouette and love that we have the option to screen print and HTV, but I'm very interested in the IkonArt kit. Do you recommend it? Is it worth the money?
Thanks Brooke! My opinion is if you have a design that you use over and over for days or weeks, IkonArt is the way to go. If you have a design you are just going to use for a few items that day, then vinyl on a screen would work. When the vinyl got wet it came right off the screen. You can use the IkonArt stencils without getting the Kit, but you still need a black background and a powerful UV light and hold it above the stencil for 30 seconds. amzn.to/3pYMSf1
@@KimandGarrettmakeit Thank you so much for the info! :)
Love that logo! Where do you buy the screen from?
Amazon! :)
What size are the letters I love it thank you
Oh man, now I wanna try screen printing! Ok, how would you recommend holding the screen down with one person? I live alone and only have two hands. 😂 Just tape it down to the shirt??
Yes! Tape it :)
Can you please tell me what fun that is in your thumbnail? If anybody knows, please let me know.
K&G did you notice your link to the Speedball paint is for acrylic (which cannot be used on fabric) but great for wood or say cardboard.
Thanks for the tip! I'll update it :)
I would like to know the cost difference in the two. I'm just getting started with the cricut and I'd like to start with t shirts as well. I'm just wondering though, if you have to let them dry for 24 hrs then heat set, that may be hard for folks like me that have absolutely no extra space in the house for shirts to lay around and dry. So I'm thinking that htv may be the way to go even if it is a bit higher in cost. What do you think?
Noted!I think HTV might be better if you have zero room!
(new to this, no idea lol) Is this a new paint? Isn't there usually a powder or like uv light to set the screen or is this just a way to use vinyl instead of all that? OR did I completely get something mixed up? Lol great video!
This is a way to use vinyl instead of that! there's tons of different shirt printing/ stencil techniques
I can't find that brand of transfer tape at 12" wide. Can you recommend?
Do u have to use a specific transfer tape for the iron on?
Nope, the transfer sheet comes attached to the iron-on vinyl. You cut and weed the opposite side of the transfer sheet. Once you press the vinyl to the fabric and let it cool, you peel the transfer sheet off. Hope this helps!
What font did you use for the screen printing. Thankd
Would you be able to cut the vinyl with a glowforge?
I think it may get too warm!
AS YOU HAVE 2 PEOPLE WORKING HERE - SQUEGEE FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF YOUR TABLE SO YOU CAN ACCESS ALL AREAS!
Where did y’all get the screen? I think I want to try that! ☺️
Amazon! www.amazon.com/Speedball-4526-SB4526-Screen-Printing/dp/B00251JO8G
Can you explain how you made racks in the back ground of your videos?
We have a whole video on these!
But I have to admit I'm a little confused about the movie reference...I think I missed that one 🤔.
The references are from Rad The Movie. An 80s BMX movie, Garrett's favorite movie.
I was always told you fold to the non sticky side .......
Nice 👕👕 what's the brand of screen and paint where can I buy it thanks
Check description! :)
Does the ink have odour
It smelled like regular acrylic paint, to me.
Do you have or sell templates for shirt position layouts?
We don't but we'll think about it!
Love the new logo
