The rising sun flag is completely different in origin from the Hagenkreuz. Only Koreans have a problem with the rising sun flag. This is sadly a case where some nation doesn't understand a symbol that has deep meaning in the heart of a people.

A part of Korean army was dispatched to help them as an ally of the United States because of their asking. The number of American soldiers is much larger. There were only a few of Koreans among the USA allies. Vietnam were damaged due to USA but they won the war. We also remember the war as a terrible horrificy and feel sorry about. South Korean Presidents have apologized to the Prime Minister of Vietnam whenever they visit to Ho Chi Minh's grave.The Vietnamese prime minister told that Vietnam won the war so there was no need to receive an apology from South Korea.
But Japan invaded and controlled Korea by force from 1910 to 1945. It was completely damaged by Japan. It is clearly the responsibility of JAPAN. A lot of people die, national heritage is destroyed. forced labor; forced prostitution...they tried to kind of eradicate the Korean language and the Korean culture. It's very different from the Vietnam War.
