Nice Im about to start my train hoping here pretty soon ? Once things starts to warm up once this snow is all gone? Whats your opinion train hoping the winter with snow ? Is it dangerous? Whats your opinion on it ? I would like to know ? I get nervous train hoping in the winter because what happens if the train goes else where now im stuck in the back for god who knows how long ? By the time that happens ill be dead like a frozen corpes when the train arrive ? Idk i like some ones opinion when it comes to train hoping in the winter ? What to bring ? And what to wear !

not as big as a deal as some make of it depending where ya be and where ya be going - ya won't freeze ta death but might get frostbite if ya be dressed for summer weather - heading to Kamloops be a little cold with snow in Kamloops most times and that is a cold sleep outdoors and a cold ride - if ya be going towards and over the Rockies then ya need winter gear or ride a loco - past Calgary it starts ta droop ta below -20 so yes ya need winter gear and keep ya self out of the wind chill factor - wind can droop it ta -30 or more - fortunately that weather is passing - only last 5-6 weeks heading east then starts ta slowly warm up - heading north from Vancouver towards Prince George the weather starts ta drop towards -10 to -20 sometimes lower - most of us don't ride this time year - we rest and let it pass same with spring cause of the rain and swollen rivers - most start hopping rail late March onwards - Desert runs be end later and starts sooner - unfortunately the desert gets snow and the passes are cold and full of snow same with California - Mexico be also cold depending where ya be - got to remember most rail lines in America that head over mountains are full of snow and cold - gotta get gear that keeps ya warm - military winter gear works same with woolen sweater and woolen pants - termal gear - rock climbers tent - looks like a Hammack - keeps ya off the wet cold ground - good blanket ya can sit on a wrap ya self into during the day - avoided t-shirts they absorb ya sweat and keep a woolen sweater on against ya skin - don't do stuff that makes ya sweat - keep some flares with ya ta help start a fire - personally me would chill till middle of march start of april and head towards Kamloops back to Vancouver a few times - then late April head towards the Rockies and Calgary - may june head towards Quebec - but always keep track of weather reports so ya have a nicer and safer ride - ride in the rain sucks and give ya crappy videos and photos - same with snow - snow make it hard ta get detailed videos and photos because of the light reflecting off snow and ice -

also remember cold will freeze ya water and food - in the rain and snow kindale and dry wood is hard ta find and ta light with paper or cardboard - why we keep road flares - make burning wet or moist wood simple -
