YEESSSSSS been waiting for this series to return, love that you did American Crew.
Hell yeah, finally another video after almost 2 months. I think the best videos are the brand battle. Then some kind of competition based on Clay, Paste, Pomade. Of course with a lot of humor and whistling sounds..lol. 😁
Oh heck, yes! Budget Stuff is back! I don't know how I never "succumbed" to the Fiber when I started dipping my toe into haircare all those years ago, but I never did! Haha.
Good to see you back, Matt.
Thanks! ❤️
Hey man just wanna say I hope all is well. You’ve leveled up my hair game and thank you for that. Hope your good, keep your head up!
I appreciate you ❤️
What medium hold, matte/low shine cream product would you recommend that washes out with only warm water?
Hey TDM! I remember watching your tenth doctor hair tutorial back in the day and I noticed how you channel changed. I do my tenth doctor cosplays and remembered every technique of how to do tenth doctor’s hair. You are doing excellent reviews, also I was one of the contestants for who has the best tenth doctor hair and going back to this your channel change so much. Keep up the good work.👍🏻😁
i won’t lie, i forgot about this channel and then this popped up on my feed and was like “OH SHIT THE SERIES IS BACK”
I'm here after watching an old video where you explained how to do the 10th doctor's hair. This video was amazing.
Yay you’re back !!
Nice. Hope you do one for Gatsby. Their moving rubber can come in tiny travel sizes so you can try them all.
It would be awesome to do a history of different products and maybe even giving your recommendations at which one comes closest to the original source given your extensive knowledge you've gathered from all of your reviews. Love the channel.
What about doing suavecito matte / texture products? Matte pomade, clay, premium blends matte pomade, texture powder, matte hair cream.
Glad you’re back matt!
Thanks Fernando!
Try blind barber Bryce Harper clay, the 90 proof and the 151 heavy hold pomade. All from blind barber. Really good!
Hey bro, loving the series so far. Please consider doing gatsby moving rubber lineup. Thanks.
Thanks!
Great video as always Matt! Would love a product review of the matte pomade from the salonguy. Btw what product did you use on your hair in this vid?
I had the Crew Paste in this vid, I talk about it a bit towards the end of that demo footage :)
@@TDMStyle oh lol didn’t pay attention there
good to see you back
Thanks!
He’s gone…. 😳
@@PatrickKendrick1988 its sad :(
What’s up man! I’d like to ask do you have any recommendation on styling/grooming cream/paste that’s washes out with just water? I have long hair.
If you're looking for something with light hold, Fuertes styling cream is great stuff. He also has a medium hold paste that I like a lot too!
Can u review black kraken clay or grizzly paste From templeton tonics?
Do you have any recommendations on shampoos and conditioners that don’t over soften the hair but hydrate it? I’m struggling with growing out my hair it seems the longer it gets the more flat it’s getting even blow drying it doesn’t help much. Currently use redken volume injection shamp and conditioner
I've always been a big fan of the Morrocanoil hydration set. Does a good job at keeping the hair hydrated but not being too heavy or overly conditioning
American Crew Forming Cream is pretty excellent imo but other than that I'm not crazy about them
Hello
I have thin and flat hair thats hard to control so I need a product thats not so heavy it will weigh my hair down but also not so light it cant give me hold. I need lot of volume and strong hold. Also I live in a hot and humid place and need a product that can work here. Any recommendations please?
Fuertes Texture Balm is a home run, or Stickmore Styling Cream is another that should work great for you.
I’d enjoy a product history series
What would you say are your favorite drug store styling products? Like from Target, cvs, etc
For me it's the Goodfellow products and the Harry's putty.
Definitely the Goodfellow lineup thus far!
Bro i which is better with your hair shear revival gray ghost or templeton tonics summit pomade?
For me personally Gray Ghost worked a bit better.
@@TDMStyle ok then i will try both..but as u adviced me i will first try gray ghost then i will try summit pomade...🙃
Hi looking for a recommendation. I used to use redken move ability 05 and loved it however I can’t get it anymore. I have Flow length naturally curly hair and like the natural look not greasy. Thank you!
I've never used that one myself, but based on its description I'd recommend something like the Styling Cream from Fuertes!
Although, I just realized this comment is on a budget stuff video so I realized you might not be looking for something with the Fuertes price tag. On the less-premium side of things, I've been hearing good things about the Byrd brand stuff that's around $10. Planning to check it out myself soon!
@@TDMStyle thank you!
Good to see you...after a while! I thought u are done with reviews!😅
Nah, just been super busy with crazy life these days haha
gotta try their matte clay
What happened to your chanel ? Y u stopped making conten 😮
Between work/OT, videos, personal stuff, I just got burnt out and lost the energy and motivation. Thinking about coming back soon though. I miss making videos ❤️
@@TDMStylemuch love from Germany , I miss u as well , you’re the bomb 🫶🏻
Hey can u review forte control clay?
Is Lodestar Grooming's Tsunami Matte Cream on the docket?
Also Apex, which is a modified version of Tsunami
I know people always also say they used to have a ton more in these, they give you way less for the same price
Oooh Mamo looks so handsome 🥰🥰 do you think he’d like these products?
Bro i want a clay which gives me matte finish and a good hold....hanz de fuko quicksand or hanz de fuko claymation or shear revival gray ghost or shear revival american gardens or templeton tonics oasis clay?
Those are all very different products lol - Quicksand is trash and makes your hair feel like a tumbleweed, Claymation is decent, Gray Ghost is a low shine pomade, American Gardens is VERY dry and matte, and Oasis I’d say fits the bill. But I haven’t used the latest formula of it so idk how it is now
@@TDMStyle which gives me more hold?
Hi Matt,
Missing your posts... hope all is ok. What water based product do you like that has lots of shine and doesn't dry crunchy.
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks Jim! All is well, just really busy with life stuff and haven't had the time or motivation to make videos in a while. As for water based stuff, I'd definitely recommend something like Aurora from Lodestar.
Thank you, Matt!!@@TDMStyle
I'm glad you're back! I'd love to see a review on Redken's Acid Bonding shampoo and/or K18.
Hmm I’ll have to check those out!
14th Doctor hair tutorial coming soon? 👀
Nice video. It's good to see u
Thanks!
Sup man can you please review dauntless hair clay.
The AC heavy hold is a water based, gel pomade that's not bad. I find the fiber smells like Cif oven cleaner. Why would they mske a hair product that smells like an oven cleaner thats been around as long as their product has been...they have to know this
Will you still be doing a review of TheSalonGuy Ionic Hair Dryer?
I talked about it in my 2022-23 hair dryer shopping guide 👍🏻
@@TDMStyle Oh yeah but at the end of that video you stated that you would be doing a full review on that hair dryer soon after
The problem with all of these is they melt. I live in Florida, have tried all of these, only to have them melt and drip down my face. Nor do I find they hold up in our high humidity.
I never had that problem. I lived in central florida and the only issue I had was that in higher humidity it tended to not hold volume well but worked ok
Fourteenth Doctor Matt?
✨ f i n g i e s ✨
I like the AC fiber and have been using it for years. However, any product that is 15-20 for a full sized tub is not budget.
Ooh, history could be interesting...but I love just about all history things so🤷♂️
The fiber is made for short hair, hence the name crew, as in crew cut, etc...Also good for spikey hair, but not for longer medium or longer length hair..
I am 99.99% sure that the brand name "American Crew" is not meant to imply "only for people with crew cuts." A good fiber can definitely be used in medium/longer length hair like mine (which was only around 5 inches long when I made this video anyway). This fiber is just trash.
@@TDMStyle Bruh omg didn't you know that's how it works?? Shear Revival also means your hair has to be cut with shears only and not with a trimmer otherwise your hair is gonna fall apart. Also BluMann products work better with blue hair. FACTZ
P.S. - don't use Flagship products if you don't own a ship. Everywhere I go now I get hunted by pirates 24/7 pls send help
BRO!!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THE WHOLE TIME 😮😮😮
Just been busy with dat life
I'm new to styling products, and of the few I've tried, the American Crew Fiber and Matte Clay are definitely better and give me desirable results compared to Dove Molding Paste, Cremo Thickening Paste, and Every Man Jack Fiber Creme. So to hear a couple reviewers say American Crew "isn't worth it" is a little surprising. I also have much shorter hair than you, so my results and experience may differ.
Dude where are you?
I liked the video just because of the fart noise at 13:30 when you said "fingered it," so props to whoever thought of that
heard their matte clay is actually decent compared to the fiber and molding clay
I've heard the same - curious!
Goodfellow texture fiber (actually a clay) is probably the best budget product for me.
That one is def a banger and my fave one so far too!
Unfortunately, they replaced it with an inferior version.
@@TDMStyle the guy below is correct it did get replaced and is terrible and now a pomade. I live in FL and this product was my go to for 3 years, now I don't know what to get. What is a good recommendation to this "clay" that held all day with ease?
@@Crakavelidid you find anything comparable?? I don't know what to buy anymore, I have tried 6 other products that are trash :(
@@Ricky-me6fh shear revival American gardens is similar but less hold.
I really like most American Crew products. Mainly the ones not in this video haha. Their “newish” Matte Clay is great. But I have a much shorter haircut than you.
Interesting! I’d be curious to try that one out. I didn’t see that one at the store so I had no idea it existed haha
@@TDMStyle Yeah their OG ones are in the basic stores. But the Matte Clay and this other new one I haven’t tried called Whip, are only in Salons, Ulta and online as far as I know.
their grooming cream is hands down the best strong hold high shine product thats not oil based
but im not a pomade guy either like matt
@@swing6670 Huh. I thought for sure the grooming cream that I saw said it was light hold and high shine. Though it wouldn’t surprise me if they had more than one with their enormous line lol
@@TDMStyle you probably saw Forming Cream haha. There is also Cream Pomade and Fiber Cream. Pretty sure that’s all the Creams.
You're looking more handsome with beard 😮
Thank you kindly!
The best budget stuff I have used is vo5 clay
u look good bro
Thank you ❤️
American crew products in general are only good for marketing but when you use the products themselves then it’s very subpar for the most part.
You know that's right
Nowadays, when been awakened to this homebrew culture, it feels so yucky to put intentionally plastic (PVP) into my hair..
The American crew molding clay is so greasy this product won’t be for me
that beard tho
At $25 a container i wouldnt call fiber budget friendly at all.
It depends where you pick it up
Bro, just looking at the way that clay broke down in your hands made me want to vomit 😭
Not a good presentation at all..
Try to mention what product u are talking about ..
Are u talking about the paste, clay..👎🏻
Did you actually watch the video? I literally talk about and demo each product in excruciating detail lmao
