  • The 59$ Hyper Tough 20V Impact driver from Walmart steps into the ring to square up against tool heavyweight Makita. Does the Hyper Tough offer value? Is it perhaps even better than a drill 5X the price? Only one way to find out: watch the video!!!
This is my every day impact drill it’s awesome!(affiliate link)

I disagree on your thoughts about the Hyper Tough.
You can get a 20V reciprocating saw, impact driver, drill, and two batteries for $80 at Walmart. As you’ve shown here the Hyper Tough can do all the things tools worth about 5x it’s price can do, just a little bit slower.
As you mentioned earlier in the video the more expensive, quality, tools would be great for a tradesman who’s speed is imperative. That extra speed directly contributes to the money earned that the tradesman will use to buy said expensive tool.
For home repairs and hobbyists where time doesn’t matter, hyper tough cannot be beaten.

The back in the day black and decker corded stuff from back in the 80s was very good, have a handful of them going strong that I got from my dad and uncle's. Starting in the 90s about the time cordless started being a thing they kinda went down hill slowly till about 2010, they are a bit better than hyper tough but not alot. They own/are owned by Stanley and Craftsman. General feeling is the hand tools for Craftsman are very good, the Stanley ones are decent not as comfortable but fairly strong and do have a lifetime replacement warranty. The electric tools are mediocre. For a hobbyist or handyman. I wouldn't expect to see a dedicated builder carrying the black and decker wouldn't be surprised if the plumber or electrical guy had them but most have Milwaukee, Snap-On or Mikiata whichever is more prevalent in their area so they can steal charged batteries on a job site.

These review channels that test budget household-grade tools against WAY more expensive professional-grade tools are freaking stupid. They only prove they don't know the actual value and use of what they're using. OF COURSE the WAY MORE EXPENSIVE professional-grade tool is going perform better than the budget household-grade tool...NO ONE IS DOUBTING THAT. And, he CLAIMS the Makita won the competition? I don't think so. Look at the data: The Hyper Tough actually won the competition, because of its power versus it's value. The Makita LOST the competition because of the same reason. They both got the jobs done...but, Makita did it only A LITTLE BIT faster. If the Makita is over FOUR TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE than than the Hyper Tough, I would want it to perform FOUR TIMES BETTER than the Hyper Tough. But, the Hyper Tough, which is 1/4 of the price, did ALMOST as good of a job as the Makita.
This is where the ACTUAL value and ACTUAL use of the tools matter: How often do you do household chores which require a drill/impact driver? RARELY! If you're doing household chores for HOURS and HOURS everyday for months or years...YES...buy the Makita; it will save you a small amount of time over a long period of time, which will make it a lot of time saved. However, MOST PEOPLE whom do household chores every once in a while will BARELY notice any time lost by buying the WAY cheaper Hyper Tough. That's value and use explained by example. I haven't seen a single one of these review channels explain it like that. They just keep saying the EXACT SAME THING: "Hey! I just tested it...and, this $10,000 tool is better than this $50 tool. WOW!!! I never expected that! And, you know what ELSE I found out? This 20 Lb professional sledge-hammer is stronger than this budget household 1 Lb claw-hammer. Hurr-durr! I'm a review channel! Durr, ba-durr, ma-hurr, durr, durr!"

This video is a complete whitewash. Made to sell Makita. Who throws their tools in the air? Brushless vs. brushed. Are you sure you are not a shill for Makita? Seat the battery in the Hypertough and it'll work.
