- This crazy looking thing is called SBR Chrono V8, is originally based on the Audi R8, its powered by the Twin-Turbo 4.2L V8 BCY Engine from the 1st Audi RS6 , producing here over 750Hp, weighs only 940Kg thanks to its Spaceframed, Carbon Fiber construction, was the outright winner of the very first Quick 60 ShootOut in 2021 and placed 2nd Overall on its 2nd Edition in 2022 now at Mallory Park. Owned and driven by Simon Bainbridge, the SBRacing Crono was built in 2015 to compete as a Sprint Car on the UK circuits and has been very successful during all these years. With carbon tub front and rear subframes, its massively powerful engine mounted to a Quaife 6 speed sequential gearbox driving the Rear Wheels through a Audi S2 diff, Avon tyres, AP Brakes and possibly the most aggressive Aerodynamic package ever applied to the Audi R8 shape, it certainly has all the ingredients to become a true Monster... Although rumour is that a V10 version may be on the way...

Hahaha people call this a car? I'll call it a venturi underfloor with driver accommodations! That save was also insane, that's what happens when you're in tune to the car's characteristics, holy moly!

i like it. i've experimented with similar aero principles in some of my designs. i def want to see a cfd of that front end. needs some more rear downforce, like f1 style, so that rear stays planted. the suspension is damped very well though, it snapped right back into place with the correct countersteer.

Man those dog tooth gears are singing. Usually you cant hear it over a big V8 rumble, but it almost sounds like a hybrid/EV race car
straight cut gears*. A dogbox doesn't have to solely use straight cut gears. Nor sequential gearboxes, whic i think is used in that car.

What about the v10?
If you like the sound of straight cut gears you're lying to yourself, it's an ear-piercing heinous and offensive sound, but isn't as bad when paired with a roaring engine. Quiet engines and loud gearboxes sound horrible, that being said this car is beautiful and piloted by a hell of a driver, props to everyone to worked on this it's a perfect example of when pure function ends up with beautiful form, truly a feat of engineering.

To me it sounds a lot like the Coyote 5.0 v8, or at least, this video sounds like the Mustang GT does in real life. I find the Coyote sounds higher pitched in video than it does irl
