You do not look to have looked at Knowing is a 2009 American science fiction thriller film directed and co-produced by Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage... Very underrated in my view with a thought provoking ending.
At first when I got this notification I was like "oh cool, a movie similar to Europa Report. I loved that movie, I'll have to check it out". I was in a bit disappointed when I realized that this was, in fact, about Europa Report. Also a bit happy though since it seems to be quite an underrated movie. Needs more attention
You took me on a journey with this comment my friend lol Thanks for sharing!
Exactly+ the film is fiction
There's a movie similar to this called RED PLANET starring Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Carrie Anne Moss and Terrence Stamp, as they play astronauts trying to fight for survival after an accident leaves them stranded on Mars, but they soon learn they are not alone.
Yes that and mission to mars are great! I should cover them soon :)
@@filmcomicsexplained Oh yes, RED PLANET ... The production overspend left them with no money for sound production... It has the worst soundtrack of any Sci-Fi movie 😁 But I do remember enjoying everything else ... GREAT FILM REVIEW AS ALWAYS ... THANK YOU
Yeah they were met by creatures that were GENETICALLY ENGINEERED and sent to Mars YEARS before that ate EVERYTHING to produce oxygen as a byproduct!!!
😱
The Nostalgia can never forget the algae field and nematodes😍
I first saw the DVD of this film in my university's library. I knew nothing the film, but the title intrigued me because I had read prior about Europa, its potentially liquid water ocean beneath the icy surface, and hence the potential for alien life. I am glad I borrowed it, it's one of my favourite hard scifi films!
Love this movie, pulled the "less is more" card and executed perfectly.
Europa One's probably my favorite found footage film, and in my honest opinion the best in the genre. It takes the concept and goes forward in a unique direction rather than rehashing the same ol' tried n' terrible we've seen in shows like Paranormal Activity. Its story was naturally pretty flawed and could have been improved, but it was still highly enjoyable for what it was. I legit wish we could get more movies like this.
This was one of those movies I skipped over constantly when searching through stuff to watch on Netflix, then one day I said "why not" and watched it. I was so happy I did because it was amazing! Really glad you covered it because it definitely seems to be extremely overlooked.
I watched it years ago and recently just found it for free on CZcams since I haven't had Netflix in years now. I forgot how great of a movie it was for being a bit of a budget movie.
I got this movie in a double package with Apollo 18, and I loved Apollo 18, but Europa Report was just OUTSTANDING and marvelous!. Thanks for commenting on it.
I'm glad you did this movie and thanks again to you and your awesome team.
Yeah they are pretty awesome!
Found this movie randomly on Netflix years ago. Glad I did, it's one of my favorite space movies
Europa Report is an excellent little hard-sci gem
Absolutely! Its a hidden gem
The reason why this movie is so good is because it’s hard sci-fi and most movies these days that deal with this topic are Hollywood and implausible. I saw in a comment below that this was similar to red Mars or red planet or something like that but even that movie wasn’t realistic. We need more movies like this even if it’s made in a different way instead of found footage/documentary style.
Loving the consistency of uploads Niyat!
Awesome man, thanks for tuning in!
Really enjoyed this movie and was excited to see you make a video of it
Glad we could make you happy!
had this on dvd for years - really good film. my parents aren't into sci-fi at all but they really enjoyed Europa Report. it's a great space adventure film with a bittersweet ending.
well worth a watch
That wasn't an alien. A creature on Europa that belongs there would be a native, not an alien. The humans are the aliens in this movie.
Possibly even illegal aliens!
I honestly never realized this even released in theaters, I watched it on VOD years ago.
watched this movie so many times. glad u made a video about it
As an IT security and privacy advocate/expert I dont trust ANY company that "claims" to protect my privacy, simply because you never know who owns such company and what they are doing to actually protect you.
I watched this movie when I was like 12 or younger on a flight to Malaysia. Very good, and very memorable movie. Also I rewatched it recently and realized the guy who is left out in space is the same actor in Hardcore Henry which I was surprised about lol
Also Vikus from district nine. Very underrated actor
FCE is a great study companion
Still gets to me that people think "military grade" means it's the best of the best, wheras it really means it's the cheapest that works.
Even as a fan of alien life, I haven’t seen that movie, and maybe I could see it if I had to.
well I mean you could watch it if you find the video piques your interest, I guess. Also thanks for giving me the opportunity to use the word Pique today, its been a while haha
@@filmcomicsexplained You’re welcome.
Demn didn't knew this exist. Thanks for the introduction!
Anytime!
Great film. Extremely underrated.
I enjoyed Europa Report when I watched it. A very good found footage film.
The frist guy in the video looks like the actor from district 9
Because he is lol
Another outstanding video thanks dude 👍
Thanks mate
@@filmcomicsexplained 🙂👍👍
This was an amazing movie. I’ve seen it several times.
Saw this late at night on a weekend once.
The film Channel often has random movies on at that time and that's how I saw it
Rare movie that is way more sci than fi. Loved it and criminally underrated
Watched this a few times. I found it an enjoyable film. Ever seen/reviewed 'the beyond'
(Yes) *"i think 🤔 we're alone now there doesn't seem to be any one around?"* 🎶
A great film for sure I just wish there were more scenes on the moon itself though. Europa is such a fascinating moon though I find Enceladus (orbiting Saturn) most beautiful. I wish there were more films about exploring our solar system. There are many books and novels that Hollywood can make into movies but instead it's the usual Hollywood sci fi stuff we get.
This was a amazing film 🎥
First time hearing of this. Seems well made
I was wondering have you done a video about Love, Death, and Robots before or do you have any plan for the show or the short films?
37:54 least convincing "yeah" ever said, he must still be traumatized 😂😂.
I saw the movie for the first time in 1998, I was 13 years old & I'm still shaking 😂😂😂😂.
Great universe though
Love this movie!!
this is a gem of a movies
You should look at Apollo 18 it isn't the best found footage movie but the creatures are pretty scary
Absolutely!
This is a little know sci-fi movie. Very underrated.
This is actually one of the better FF movies I have seen in recent years
I've heard about this movie but never saw it.
You gotta watch it dude!
Approaching a million subs and Niyat still takes the time to heart and comment on his comments. Stand up guy
Ah, those pesky unexpected solar storms.....always ruining things.
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊
And you Shaine!
There are some movies, all smaller in size & budget, but still good, more or less, and underrated, which some of don't get much recognition in videos like this, if at al!
So if I might make a suggestion for a list...
- Kill Switch (2017)
- Kill Command (2016)
- Higher Power (2018)
- Infini (2015)
- Rogue (2007)
- The Bay (2012)
- Mutant Chronicles (2008)
- Coma (2019)
- Superdeep (2020)
- The Blackout (2019 movie & 2020 mini-show version)
- Sinking of Japan (2006)
Some of these totaly slipped under the radar, for whatever reason. Especialy "Kill Switch, Infini & Coma", even though very nice movies.
I want to see this movie.
I enjoyed this movie. It’s worth watching.
Absolutely Critical Warlock!
Lol they forget the ice on Europa is extra thicc no fragile...
Cheers 👍🏻
Anytime Atlas!
Now this is how a good found-footage should be...in space.
Really impressive if that was low budget, better than Netflix
Is that Sharlto Copley?
Arthur C. Clarke's book '2010' has the exact same concept.
When you look into the abyss it looks back at you
Why did you cut this one so short for a review? Think this should have been 15 minutes with your advert rather than under 9.
BBC tv series Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets (Voyage to the Planets and Beyond in the US) has a kind of similar documentary style. Plenty of drama but meant to be scientifically accurate, so no aliens.
Please do The Ancient Enemy from The Phantoms.
I consider this as Barotrama Prequel
Andre's actor was in John wick as the Russian mob leader
I like to think of this movie as a sequel to the two Monsters movies.
Those pesky solar storms
Is it me or the creature looks like the tumor like pods in the game called Soma where you put your hand into to heal you
YES EUROOOOPAAAAAAA REPORRRRT baybey!!!!! (I watched this movie way too many times tbh)
Alone in the universe, not at all.
Alone in isolation, I think, eternally
A really fascinating looking creature isn't it?
5:06...THIS is the reason you don't send people...send probes, send robots, hell send drone. This seems like a good movie because this is exactly what humans would do...
Human Thought: If humans experience tragedy and or loss, they try to compensate by putting their lives and or other lives in danger in order to make up for the loss and or tragedy. Ex: The crew lost a crew mate and in order to make up for the lost crew mate they decided to drill in an area that wasn't planned AND 5:06 this lady goes searching for tinker bell in pitch black with a small ass flashlight on a planet that clearly has life on it.

There is no way in hell that we are the only race in this universe
Deep Rising 2 - Giant Squids in Space
We’re not aloud to visit Europa.
This also sounds like it could the be the prequel to the video game described in Earnest Clines second book Armada. It's a decent book and worth a read but ready player one was better imo.
how is everyone "falling" through the ice on a moon with almost no gravity?
Because of the octopus-like Alien... 😁
There is a Rosa And a Luxemburg? Weird
Man for a second my high ass thought this real 🤣🤣🤣
What’s the footage at 1:30
A trip to the Moon by Georges Méliès, made in 1902
@@willemvandeursen3105 thank you
Are you going to take a look at Phil Tippit's Mad God anytime soon?
Its on the list!
So im the only person that thought this movie should have been a short 15 min movie mostly the last few min.
I tried to watch this movie but only made it a few minutes in. I started getting bored quickly with the slow pace.
When someone says military grade I genuinely see that as, cheap robust cheap and fixable.
idk if I'm missing something, but you misspelt it as shurshark instead of surfshark
Thanks for the save Isares. Just fixed it you legend!
@@filmcomicsexplained no worries man, thanks for another great video. Hope it wasn't some test by surfshark -,-
I liked this movie simply because it is possible for thermal vents to sustain life. That's documented fact. Science doesn't need "belief" to be true.
It was an octopus, a fucking octopus.
ha space go br
I thought it was a great film, to me that is what a space exploration movie is ...
I would like to see a film of a follow up mission?!...
They seriously need to stop with the search for other life out there. It's a game of poking the bear and yet no one here is prepared for what happens after the bear wakes up.
you don't tell me what to do 😜
Are u saying that in real life we shouldn't be poking the metaphorical bear that is the possibility of life just because of the danger it imposes......I'm sorry to say but that's on the same side of thinking if it's dangerous or scary we should get rid of it or can't learn from it, but that's not true. Society should be looking to the stars for answers
@@myhandlehasbeenmishandled even if what I'm telling you objectively ensures your survival
@@madambutterfly1997 just make sure you are not alone and can out run them 😏
@@guerillagrowerusa6939 if shit goes south you clearly have no contingency.
Mistake number one was killing the best actor first, hmmmm?
Europa was a great film , however they should of spent more movie time showing Europa and the creature/creatures or
Neil Blompkamp needs to make a part 2.
Bro… everyone knows we aren’t alone
That crew sure as hell, doesn’t look like it’s made up from experts from “across the world”
Approximately 20% of this video is ad. Skip to 1:20.
Note: Europa is a moon
I wished I liked it more. Some of it felt very contrieved, and I felt nothing for the crew. I didn't like the end with the Europa creature--seemed corny.
The only thing this movie is good for is to show how easy it is with current tech to fake space shit
I fail to see what was being explained
i love how she says unmanned? nah we need women and men cause they have strength. hahaha
FUCK I THOUGHT THIS WAS REAL 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Really? a ad before the video? are we here to listen to a ad on top of the two unskippable ads or are we here listening to your content?
