P&O Ventura cruise to Spain, Portugal & Canary Islands August-2023 - Madeira.

Our first port. After 3 days at sea, the beautiful island of Madeira was an absolute delight.
We spent the morning discovering the lovely city of Funchal, wandering the streets & taking it all in. Our planned afternoon excursion (P&O Leisurely Scenes of Madeira) took us to the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint above Funchal and up to Eira do Serrado, which looks down on the famous Valley of the Nuns. Returning towards Funchal we visited Cabo Girão, a glass-floored viewpoint at the top of a cliff some 589m high (one of the highest in the world!), offering some fantastic views. Not for the faint-hearted, but definitely worth stepping out!
