  • Primal Trees Steps are a great way to make your run and gun set up as mobile as possible. These wedge style steps are very versatile and are made by two different companies both of which have their own pros and cons but both provide the same step system. links to both companies are below!

    With husband, wife, and three kids all going hunting, we also need an affordable option for camo. We buy Kings camo to be able to fit our needs. They have lower end and upper end styles. This means we can outfit our kids each year as they won't stop growing. We don't tree stand hunt, but these look so simple, that I could see using them in the future, even out here in the west. It could really open up some options!

    Funny, last week I thought I ordered 6 wildedge steps on Amazon. Turns out.....I actually ordered 6 four packs of Primal steps!!! So I’ll have 24 of them! I guess I’ll prep a few trees with just steps (no stand) and keep enough aside for a true “hang and hunt”.

      @hiitingthedream  Před 4 lety

      Ya that’s a great way to do it! I’m goin to use a knaider this year so I can care less steps and get just as high!

    Great video! I was actually just looking at a set of these today and plan on purchasing the 6 pack you recommended. Wild Edge is great, but cost wise the Primals will work for me this season.

    Wildedge makes a great bag for carrying. And you can order there rope to replace the heavy straps. I got 4 wildedge and 8 primal with rope straps with a 12 pc bag. Works great.

    • @hiitingthedream
      @hiitingthedream  Před 5 lety +1

      ya i saw that, not sure if i want to switch to the rope but even if i did it would be cheaper to switch and buy the replacement ropes, and yes i saw there bag but the system I designed attached to my lineman belt i like for now see come season if its still what i like

      I've got those steps. I cut the short strap off and got rid of the buckle. Ive been using the same knot that wild edge has on there bag. So far so good. No metal on metal noise and lighter

    • @johnhurley1579
      @johnhurley1579 Před 5 lety

      Oh and I wrapped them with camo duck tape so they don't clack. Originally got them for a saddle platform, but because of the packability, I may completely switch over and get rid of my helium sticks. Good video man 👍

      What's the total weight on that 12 piece set with ropes and bag and how high can you get in the tree (perhaps using a one step, moveable aider)?

    Just subbed you. Now that you’ve been using these Primal steps for about a year what mods have you made? Taking the pros and cons into consideration I like the straps vs rope. Someone suggested cutting the buckle off the short end and knotting the strap. That could be a nice option. With all the polymers today I wish they would make that an option vs metal. I’d definitely put tape on the metal to quiet them down. Still searching for a system. PS. I like Sitka but agree with you on the cost. One of the most expensive clothiers for hunting. Quality but expensive.

    • @hiitingthedream
      @hiitingthedream  Před 4 lety

      Ya I’m adding stealth strips to the metal apsects tbis year. I like how much faster they are to use and adjust then tying rope in my opinion

  • @big-d7756
    @big-d7756 Před 4 lety

    How are they now? Hopefully you have been able to hunt some with them. Also do you think its possible to leave them on the tree all season or take them off every time? I hang a few stands to leave all season so i can access them at certain times and conditions with complete minimal gear. Thanks and good luck

    • @hiitingthedream
      @hiitingthedream  Před 4 lety

      i love them! could use alittle bit of sound dampening though! i dont see why not either, like anything with a strap i would take it down in the off season!
