We must build this community up not tear it down by making fun of other people or kids for doing what they love. The more we hate on other people the more it discourages them and rips them away from enjoying things in fear they’ll be ridiculed for doing it. We just need to learn to get along and accept differences in the skate community

My respect for almost every skater in parks is that whenever they get snaked, their first instinct is to jump off the board. a lot of the time, they are twice the height of the scooter kid but they don’t intentionally hurt them. i know it’s also to save themselves from injury but the kid could have a lot more damage done to them.

As someone just stopping by on a late-night rabbit hole visit, I feel like as long as you just find a spot at the skatepark and try your best to not get in anybody's way, it doesn't really matter what you're doing there. Just be respectful of everyone, and it'll be fine. No need to be grown adults giving kids shit for trying to ride scooters, no need to try and fight people for standing up to you bullying them. The thing with "snakeing" is that alot of skateboarders will say that scooter users snake infront of them, yet end up snakeing infront of scooters even more. I try to stop to let others by and I wish skateboarders would stop for anyone that doesn't see them (like I try to do) but I still admire the skill

When I was younger I took my scooter to a skate park and some teenagers with skateboards came and asked If I wanted them to teach me how to ride a skateboard and then I said yes and they inspired me to skate and I had so much fun learning with them

That first interaction was cool as hell, a lot of parents give kids scooters instead of skateboards under the impression they're somehow safer and the kids just learn to live with it however they can. They're either real, or they become Billy-Big-Bollocks and mess up the park for everyone else. Giving that kid a board and a decent conversation was a solid move, much respect.
