- This is the KUT-NUP Productions presentation of a documentary which focuses on the life and career of the actress, singer, dancer and songwriter.
The Academy award, Grammy award, Golden Globe, Daytime Emmy, Image award, People's Choice award and Obie award winner's life and career are examined in this provocative film. +Irene Cara , Sorry about your Dad's name. The narrator was guessing on that. We didn't realize until after it was complete that he pronounce his name wrong. Don Clark, the narrator has since passed away. He was a local news reporter that did this as a favor because he was such a big fan or yours. He will be missed. As for the T, we picked that up from several sources that had stories about you. I wasn't sure about using it then, I should have followed my first mind. Sorry again. I tried posting Part 3 several times but CZcams keeps taking it down because of copyright issues.

Irene Cara has always had so very much grace and beauty about herself. She doesn't extremely very gifted artist when it came to her so I'm ready being an actor and being a singer. I mean you have always been the city in my head that I never had, even though we never met I enjoyed watching you tremendously on screen I don't even remember how many times I've watched sparkle, I remember going to see this movie with friends and my mom. After five times I haven't seen the movie my mother was only had to drag me out and I had tears in my eyes saying mom can't wait to see it one more time. I was right there with you as a fan who looked up to you and all of your other endeavors as well. And winning your Oscar for best original, oh my gosh you would have thought that I had one that award. Yes you are older than myself and I truly truly looked up to you for much grace that you exhibited as being person who you are. And I write this comment as a closure I do want to say that you will never ever be forgotten, not only in my eyes but in the eyes of so many others.. you were so very gifted in so very special and so many ways.. I would like to thank you so very kindly even though you did not know but for being a part of my world, because I'm so many ways I did and could identify with you, is being part Latina myself and part of my roots with Puerto Rican blood running through my veins as well. You were very much love and always will be and because of your legacy with all the things that you've done for me little girl you will always remember be remembered. @@feliciasingleton6492 I recently read an article where Irene said that she's pretty much retired 😥. Financially she's good, living in Florida off of royalties. I don't believe that Hot Caramel is still together, at least not with Irene. I truly hope she reconsiders but I doubt it. No major record label will give her a deal so she would have to finance it herself, guess she feels like it's just not worth it anymore. Just a shame that she was taken advantage of and essentially blackmailed from the music industry which is her first love IMO.

We got to witness a great talent and now a legend, I feel so grateful to have been able to watch Fame as a young child as she gave me as I woman of colour, dreams, hope , aspirations and motivation, I start doing ballet at age 3 and by the time in 🇬🇧we got to view fame , I was glued to it in ❤with the show and all its cast , but Irena helped me find my voice and love of singing,I still do sing her songs ,when I go out and do Karaoke, 💛🙏🏽always , to all her family members and bless you all and thank you , for sharing her gifts with us her fans xx, she now an Angel in heavens choir

This documentary is a good, comprehensive account of Ms. Cara's career. I have watched it several times : ) And I am so happy to finally see part 2. I would buy the DVD if it was available somewhere.

+Irene Cara , we got the DVD on Amazon and all of the footage is in Black & White. It does look like yours and other performers footage should be in color. Maybe converting all of the performances to Black & White was cheaper for the distributing company??

I remember seeing Irene in Palisades Amusement Park in NJ while in the Little Miss America pageant. She placed second runner up but she should have won. It was taped on WPIX tv but I guess no one has a videotape of this or would have been on You Tube.

Sparkle is STILL a classic.
Loved that movie. I remember going to the movies back in the day and watching it. I remember seeing her in the Off Broadway and Broadway play The Me Nobody Knows. That girl had a voice so strong and beautiful in that play and then in Sparkle.
