No he didn't but he had it coming. The stuff he was pulling in the environment he was pulling it was going to lead him to either prison or death, prison for stupidly killing a wrestler or another fan, or killed by one of the other hundreds of people he shafted.

Hogan would've just made him job out and look weak. In a perfect world? One where Hogan was willing to put someone else over? Then yeah, I totally agree. Hogan had skills in the ring that American audiences never got to see... so if he pulled out all the stops like he used to do in Japan, we could've had a bonafide classic between them. But as it stands now?....
I'm glad they never had an angle together. Hogan beating Brody the way he beat everyone else would've made it impossible for me to suspend any disbelief and enjoy the match... even if it did end up being an all-time classic barn-burner.
The only way it could've possibly worked would've been to PUT BRODY OVER HOGAN... AT LEAST ONCE... but that never would have happened. Not in McMahon's promotion. Maybe elsewhere, but not in NY.
Mostly because Brody wouldn't blow him, and Hogan did... regularly.

Brody pushed a kid down who was in a wheelchair. That was a big reason why Vince didn't want him around. From what I have surmised it was an accident, but Bruiser never looked back because he didn't want to break character. Not a good look for Vince's company. Title says Brusier Brody, video is about Lex Luger.
It seems to me that Lex benefited from favorable circumstances. With Ted Dibiase going to the WWF, Barry Windham not wanting the demands of holding the world title, and the careers of David Von Erich and Magnum TA ending, there was a huge vacuum of talent worthy of the world title. Add to this fan's fascination with bodybuilder physique and Jim Herd's ineptitude and Lex Lugar gets opportunities and pay far beyond what his experience and ability merited. Very much a Goldberg-like rise to the top.
At least Lex Lugar was better in the ring than Ultimate Warrior.
