    People worry too much about capturing continents. A lot of the time it just creates too much tension . Sometimes its better to float around neutral territory like central Asia until the enemies weaken each other.

      I usually play with 2 other people so I fall behind quick if I don’t get a continent quick. I always go for Australia and South America and try to converge on Africa quick

    Nice video. After taking out Blue, you could have swiped out Orange then Green and finally Yellow in the same turn. In progressive card games against human players it is usually better NOT to concentrate all of your forces in one part of the map: continents are less important and you want it to be difficult for another player to swipe you out in one turn.

    With progressive cards, continents are of lower importance. Having your armies spread out is a better strategy, since you are hard to take out in any one go. Enemies mighht be able to take you out near where they are, but that would gift your cards to another player. Also, being spread out, you're more likely to be near a weak player to take them out and get their cards. There is a take-a-continent/zero-cards strategy that can work out OK for a while. With zero cards you just accumulate and never take a card - at least during the early stages. You're not worth taking out with zero cards, so you just wait till the other players weaken themselves. Longer term it's not great as a player that hands in cards might just take you out to reduce their potential number of enemies, and it's super boring to do nothing for round after round.

  • @beanza_
    @beanza_ Před 2 lety +1

    My strategy is to start in North America and build up CA, Alaska, and Greenland since those are the places people can come in, and just kinda wait around there and maybe push into Northern Europe and Asia (like Japan and Eastern Russia) and then let everyone weaken each other since they can’t really get to me, and once they’re pretty weak I push down into South America and Africa, then take Europe from the north and push into Asia and finish in Australia

      @SAdams-it1mm  Před 3 lety

      It might be if they have a lot of cards you can steal, but generally I would say no in order to preserve your large army. Risk is all about having the most men on the board, and the only way to do that is to have others fight each other while you amass a huge army.

    The Australia strategy works against computer opponents, but you cannot count on it against human opponents. You may have to compete for Australia. If you do manage to take over Australia, it's all too easy to be isolated due to a strong opponent in Asia who blocks your expansion.

  • @LocherYT
    @LocherYT Před 2 lety

    maybe it was the house rule but when i was introduced to Risk, it was said that you can only attack with 3 people at most and therefore can only move 3soldiers to the conquered country. Your tactic here relies heavily on snowballing because you just move everyone to the conquered tile after winning the battle.

    • @The17Peacekeeper
      @The17Peacekeeper Před 2 lety +1

      Sounds like either a house rule or a rule just misinterpreted. When you attack with three dice you have to move at least three units after you win - this does not mean three is the maximum you can move there. Might have just mixed up maximum units to move instead of minimum

    • @jasonhsu4711

      WHAT? This game is long enough as it is. Limiting the number of armies in a territory can only make the game longer.

    Question : In your turn to role the dice.. Count the territories and divided by 3 and if you have continent will give troops.. On my second turn will i get troops. On my third turn will count territories divided by 3 and get troops... (I m not talking about matching 3 Risk cards and getting troops)

    • @SAdams-it1mm
      @SAdams-it1mm  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, every turn you get troops for your continents and your territories/3 with a minimum you can get from your territories being 3 troops.

    • @SAdams-it1mm
      @SAdams-it1mm  Před 3 lety +1

      @@pradeepedirisinghe7717 You can attack. It doesn't matter if there are ten troops, 2 calvary, or one cannon as this is just a placemarker. If a calvary has one troop die you exchange the calvary for 4 troops.
