Six o’clock’s a bit early for dinner unless HRH was very hungry.
I’m guessing the ceremony was the Palace Guard knocking off for the night. “Green Hills of Tyrol” is a Retreat March of the Scots Guards.

Thanks. I check 'Retreat' on line. Someone said it is a call for dinner in Military. Maybe it is wrong:-).

@@haizhens-hut I haven’t heard that but I can’t say it’s wrong. Retreat is usually the return to barracks of outlying picquets and sentries signalled by a drummer’s call. Mess Dinners are signalled in Scottish Regiments by pipe tunes, Corn Rigs for the Sergeants and Bannocks of Barley Meal for the Officers. I expect HRH would have been served something better than that.
