This was the theme tune for a short-lived BBC comedy series called "The First of the Summer Wine" which was a prequel to the very well known comedy series "The Last of the Summer Wine"

The First of the Summer Wine was an excellent series, great shame they only made 13 of them.

Al Bowlly worked with Ray Nobel, Lew Stone and Roy Fox, but hardly ever with Caroll Gibbons and the Savoy Hotel Orpheans. It's a shame because you would then have the best crooner of them all, with arguably the best British dance band of them all! What a combination that would have been!
