Also forgot to mention those sideshow circus type characters like the albino skinny bitter beer face lady in the trailer - NONE of those characters show up in the actual film - They must have all been cut out for no apparent reason.

As much as i'd like that list as well the 12 year olds in his fanbase would hate it and he'd get tonnes of dislikes for it! Remember a few months back when they were going through all his videos disliking them because "we wnt r angry game review now!!!" and he was doing loads of other TV and movie reviews and even had to turn the comments off for a while it was getting so bad! Again i'd love a top 10 movie list from joe Best AND worst and i'd be curious for a top 10 in TV but that list will sadly never happen because there are too many pathetic entitled kids on youtube sadly =/

Insidious basically became the movie equivalent of Five Night's At Freddy's.
#1: "Holy shit! This has potential!"
#2: "Wow, this is. . . Intriguing."
#3: "Well that was disappointing."
#4: "What the fuck even is this?!!"
I suspect they both suffered this for the same reason: They knew how to bait a sequel, but had not given any consideration to what they would do if they actually got to make one.

I don't know any horror movie franchise where the sequels got better. Just more money spent on marketing and cgi, but the story always gets worst or some dumbass explanation to ruin the mystery of w/e the monster/killer is.

I say give Friday the 13th a pass there since the first trilogy of them are still great. Without the sequel we wouldn't have Jason Voorhees we all know and love plus Friday the 13th Part III (3D) was really enjoyable and absolutely great for the slasher genre,

Angry Joe is complete wrong about this film. It's actually not that bad and it is good to a point like I would give it a 6 and half out of 10 really like I would compare it to Insidious 3 but a bit better really.

Did anyone else like the first Insidious film? I loved it; it was the first horror movie that actually scared me in many years, and I don't even believe in ghosts. But everyone else seems to really hate it. Anyone else like it? I'd be interested in hearing what other people think.
(I thought the 2nd one was kinda average, and I haven't seen the other two. If you've seen the ones I haven't, would you recommend the 3rd and 4th to someone who enjoyed the 1st a lot, and thought the 2nd was ok? Or do they both just suck?)

Unless 4 goes directly into 3 and 3 directly into 1, there's plenty of room to have more prequels. I'm sure Elise and the guys would have had more than one job together.

I love James Wan and Leigh Whannell though, as far as indie film creators go, they are pretty awesome.

There's a shit ton of amazing horror movies coming out/came out recently. They're just wide released like Insidious or have the budget for major marketing. But then people watch the good ones and complain that they're "boring" and not enough jumpscares.

I believe this is the correct and logical order that makes since:
A.) Did she take cases as a kid? NO; it was after she ran away; shown in part 4.
B.) Did she take Quinn's case when she was an adult? Yes; shown in part 3.
C.) Was Dalton her last case alive? Yes - shown in part 1
D.) Did she help fight for souls in the after life? Yes; shown in part 2.
*Therefore the timeline is: Part 4, Part 3, Part 1, then Part 2.*
I'm excited about the thrill of the movie. The writers are brilliant; psychologically. In the tunnel, to create in the audience, the belief that the ghost was behind the suitcase was done beautifully. The ghost breathing seemed to be further down the tunnel; she flashed her light down the tunnel, to enforce in the audiences mind that the ghost is definitely behind the pile of suitcases, then he pops out of the suit case! Brilliant psychological thriller. The girl in the bathroom turned out to be real!!! cold/twisted/plot and that was genius. The police station and interrogation rooms are naturally believe to be a place of safety, to the human mind, and at the part of the movie, it's common to let our guards down and sip some soda; so for the ghost to pop up in the interrogation room behind the detective was very clever. Oscar? hell yes.
Thanks for the review. I will wait for this movie to come to Netflix and then host a bad movie night with some cocktails. It will be so much fun.

the last ouija movie was a surprising film. much better than the previous one before it. Also same with the latest annabelle also way better than expected and with its previous one as well. Horror movies have been starting to get a bit better recently but may have just slipt back into a rut with this one.

Here is all I'm saying. In a horror story, there should be a cause and effect without any explanation. It has to give the why with no answer to the question.
Moviepass. I won't have to waste the money to see it. I'll still watch this because I enjoy the franchise but I had hoped that this one linked to the end of the second movie.
If you like the franchise then you’ll enjoy it. I liked it a lot. It is at least much more enjoyable then they make it sound.

I don't know if anyone remembers but at the end of that one she went to house its Spirit form to visit a little girl in a wheelchair. Then you hear like a crackling sound and she looks up and gasps. I'm pretty sure I know what that demon is but I would still like to see what happens after that.

The intro was AMAZING. The tension from the father was so REAL it really had the theatre quiet as fuck.
The humor was great. You label them just as these two sidekicks, whatever. THEYRE MAIN CHARACTERS! They have always been funny and awkward.
There were a TON of very tense moments. Yinz must just want to be extremely entertained at every waning moment.
All these characters from the further.....hahaha. There was only one person from the further the rest were real people. Yinz definitely didn’t pay attention at all

The thing with horror movies is that the most horror movies dont scare you at all any more, but the insidious trillogy had some really scary scenes and some nice jumpscares. I dont think a horror movie is about the writting, its mainly about the HORROR.
I thought 2 was the best. I also watched that one first though. But I loved how even watching them in that order, 2 and then 1, still made sense in that direction. Those were both really good. 3 felt like a stand-alone teenage horror. Which isn’t a good thing.
I actually liked the movie a lot and the little comedy that was there did make me laugh. I hope they keep on making them using the new girl now

Probably wasn't worth mentioning, but we got them "volume down, JUMP SCARE!" moments. Just one was actually done "ok". =)

I’ve just seen the latest Insidious. I’m a huge fan of the Insidious franchise, however I was a little let down by the ‘The Last Key’.
If anybody’s a fellow Insidious fan (or just bored) here are my thoughts....
Beware of spoilers.
The movie was good and had some standout moments, however it felt like a drop from the previous two movies. I think the first movie was good, second was better, third was fantastic then this kinda slipped.
The film had a really strong start (although I missed the iconic violin title opening) and the strength throughout the entire movie was Lin Shaye’s portrayal of Elise. But the film couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be another standard haunting, an Elise backstory or a bridge to tie all the movies together; what we ended up getting was a bit of a mix of different ideas with lots of potential but none of them fully executing. The key demon was really cool and looked amazing, however there wasn’t any explanation as to what it was, where it came from and why it opens all the red doors. The link to the other movies and the concept that the key demon/Elise caused the Lambert family haunting was clever, but they really brushed over this and I actually think the entire movie could have been around the demon opening the red doors and causing all the hauntings from the franchise.
I think they could have focussed a little less on comedy and more on horror, in some scenes a lot of tension was built and then vanished due to a cheap one liner. I like the comedy in these movies although in this film it worked against the genuinely scary atmosphere which was created by the opening sequence.
Overall I think it’s still better than your everyday horror movie but it wasn’t quite on par with the other Insidious movies. Elise was really the standout of the film.
Hopefully we get another movie on par with the third chapter!

I got really pissed off when that one prison scene in the trailer wasn't in the movie. Then I go watch that trailer right after watching the movie I see a whole bunch of scenes were missing from the movie and I got really pissed off
Did they ever do anything with the scene in the 2nd movie i think, where the lady is dead but she is still a paranormal investigator with the 2 guys as a ghost. She goes to help a family with troubled daughter and sees something behind her and she is fucming terrified, but then the movie ends there
Eric Garcia No they never continued after that. 3 and 4 were pure cash grabs. They said that they were only going to make 5 of them, so hopefully part 5 will pick up after 2. So the order should be 3, 4, 1, 2, 5.
I have no idea why ur trashing this film so bad really. I saw this and saw it again recently and honestly this is not a bad film. Yes it might not be good as the first 2 films I think it's a bit better then Insidious 3 but still idk why u 3 are trashing this film.

I feel like one of the only people who really liked this movie. Insidious is one of my favourite horror franchises and I think Leigh Whannell is a very talented writer, not to mention the fact that Specs and Tucker are my favourite characters and Lin Shaye plays Elise perfectly. I did prefer the first two but I thoroughly enjoyed this one as well but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

The beef about the makeup where you couldn't tell if they were dirty or dead, wasn't that part of the plot? We all thought a certain character was dead until revealed later that no, that happened after elise saw her
But anywho I tolerate bs fairly well, though I do agree the use of the whistle was telegraphed very early on i thought.
This movie was missing kids, I spend 38$ on 3 ticket and this was bad. Jumanji was worth that price. But this one was so freaking sad........ everyone in this movie lack COMMON SENSE. you hear something, you walk into it.... If someone call my name and i have to go somewhere dark. I YELL ONE TIME! and tell them to come to me.

At the end of Insidious 2 we see Elise looking in horror at something in the corner and we hear the creepy cracking off screen... Why the fuck didn't they make a follow up movie for that?
