Castlevania: Nocturne in the Moonlight (Saturn) - Richter Mode

You can actually play with Richter in his original attire. I used a code to play in the alternate attire (aka the one introduced in this game)
Finding all (I think) Life Ups as well as defeating all bosses. Galamoth, as usual, is a HUGE pain in the ass if you don't abuse his head.

Was it really that hard to have these sprites in the other versions of the game? I always hated how Richter sprites didn't match his portrait

Me to, his original artwork is like this, why did they use his rondo of blood sprites then. I guess we will never get the perfect version. Best chance we got was with the psp version and there he also has his rondo sprites unfortunately.

the ps1 version was rushed, and the saturn version was made by a different team with a different art direction, which would explain why richter's sprites here look more like a recolor to match his art design for the game rather than a complete rework of his sprites (which we saw they probably planned to do, with the sprite of richter that appears in the colosseum as well as when maria mentions him for the first time)
i forgot which area it was (i think the prison), but i heard you can find a very early version of that area in the ps1 version through glitches. as for what those glitches are, i have no idea

I mean it does have some bad slowdown & some things aren’t true transparencies, but there’s a patch that was made which fixes most of the problems, like the improperly scaled sprites that we’re quadrupled in size to compensate for the Saturn’s resolution

There are AMAZING remixes of classic “Castlevania” tracks in this Saturn port (in particular “Vampire Hunter”, “Bloody Tears”, “Divine Bloodlines”) that I don’t recall being in the PS1 version’s OST; I’m also digging that alternate costume for Richter. Are these all Saturn exclusive?

Unfortunately, yes. While Divine Bloodlines was remixed for Alucard vs Richter fight, Bloody Tears, Vampire Killer, Beginning and Richter's suit are Saturn exclusive. And the worst; Saturn version is only available in Japan.

@@Rassenomatjutut Not surprised at all; Pretty much all amazing Saturn content never left Japan’s shores. It was a WAY more popular console there than it ever was in any other country which lead to a longer life span in Japan as well. Where I live (USA), the Saturn was practically dead on arrival, in no part thanks to previous debacles like the Sega CD and 32X add-ons. Tack on the bizarre marketing campaign and lack of any great games or content (no major Sonic series title released exclusively for the Saturn; Just a port of Sonic 3D Blast and the sub-par Sonic R racing game)…Yeah, the Saturn never had a chance outside of Japan.

how can i get him to use this new outfit? in my game richter only uses his standard outfit from the ps1 version

If I'm not mistaken that outfit is only exclusive for the Sega Saturn.We Playstation users only get the classic/rondo of blood version.
