@@M7keSonic This one is really good though. Victory Tour the tempo was higher so he'd get out of breath easier. If you're saying Wembly is better than this I'd half agree. There's at least one or two in 92 that might be better, but this one is fire to me. He's not out of breath like Wembley, his voice was quite strained on that one. Nobody could know what the best one is, there's so many not recorded or recorded in bad quality. Human Nature on his 3rd night here is his best performance to me easily, but the quality is awful.
@Valientlink no, this one is not good if you compare it to most other BJ performances, the Victory Tour tempo kinda ruins the vibe of Billie Jean, and yes Wembley is better but that one is just standard, most DWT and HWT performances are way better than this one and Wembley combined
@@M7keSonic DWT only a few are good, but the dancing peaked. I used to think they were his best, but then I noticed his voice strain was generally pretty bad.
HWT was almost all lip sync so I don't really get behind that one. Then when someone got access to the audio, his throat is shot. That's what lupus and prednisone will do to you, and why he was strained during Wembley. But I don't know, Yokohama is one of his best to me, he looked good and performed well. His vocal register had already lowered some which is why Thriller got even lower later in the tour (can tell he was struggling at Wembley).
Thriller at Yokohama is his best live one as far as I'm concerned but again, there are just taped shows in low quality, I can't find the human nature example of his 3rd night there, or Tokyo, late 87. He didn't do his hesitation after the big vocal, he went right back into vocals and dancing. His vocals were so smooth they were the best I've ever heard.
@Valientlink most if not all DWT shows are better than Yokohama, Yokohama has very reserved dancing compared to MJ's standards, and his voice sounds weird, it's clean and it's in great condition, but the way MJ sings is just weird, almost like if he had a southern US accent, but overall despite the vocal quality being a bit worse during the DWT it did have the better sound and they way MJ sang was just better, not to mention the absurd improvement on the dancing, which kept on improving and peaked from December 1996 to July 1997.
I don't you understand, the mic feed we have from the HIStory Tour comes from Munich July 6th 1997, which in case you didn't know is one of the few 1997 shows where MJ's voice sounds awful, but not due to drugs or lupus, it was due to laryngitis (and maybe propofol but idk if that would've affect his vocals), if we got the mic feed from any other 1997 that isn't Munich or Vienna his voice would sound much, much better.
Yokohama is among the worst 1987 shows, which happens to be the worst leg of the Bad Tour, which happens to be MJ's worst solo tour, MJ sings in a weird way, and the dancing is pretty reserved, and in my opinion Tokyo, Osaka and Brisbane are significantly better in terms of everything really.
But in general some of the best vocals I've ever heard came from either the Dangerous Tour or the HIStory Tour
I consider the Bad Tour the black sheep of MJ's tours if you know what I mean, I'm more into the dancing, energy and good adlibs.
If we are talking about good Japan shows from MJ, consider checking out the Tokyo 1992 shows, especially December 31st as it's really HQ for amateur audio, Tokyo 1996 shows are also pretty good, December 13th especially is great, Fukuoka 1996 despite the lack of footage seems great too, and let's not forget Fukuoka 1993, those shows might be some of the best shows from the DWT.
But anyways, Cologne and Milan 1997 are MJ's best shows imho

He did apparently he got trained by a pop/robotic dancer (forgot his name) and he spent hours repeating the same moves so it is basically in his system when he does that move.
