Ok honest opinions about this trailer
I'll wait on your gameplay review, HOWEVER, it does look really good. I'm cautiously optimistic.
The art style is unique for this one. Did I see a little velociraptor in the volcano?

I love story of seasons so much. And I know so many people hate Natsume. But I have to give credit to them that this looks so much better than what they've been putting out previously. I'll definitely be picking it up.

This trailer makes me optimistic about the game. It looks good graphically, for the most part, and it looks like there could be a good story too. I love that they are bringing back the horse and dog races. Harvest Moon 64 was the first farming sim I ever played and I absolutely fell in love with the Harvest Moon series. I was not thrilled with what I saw of the farming mechanic. Tossing down one seed at a time is time consuming and outdated. Overall, I'm hopeful for what this game will be and I'll watch for more trailers and reviews.

Can't lie when I say that I am surprised on how many people are saying this game looks good. I have too disagree, this looks so bad, I hope you enjoy the game but in my eyes this looks like a missed opportunity.
I don't know how to describe it but this is giving subtle Pokemon (specifically Arceus) vibes. like the world, dialogue, mini game styles/themes, etc. makes sense the same devs are working on it!
Please don't tell Nintendo how much i'd pay for selfie mode in Animal Crossing.

Halfway through the trailer I literally said to myself, “this looks like Pokémon but without the Pokémon,” cool to hear you say the same, lol!
The graphic are so much better and the details. I have a Harvest Moon version…but on 3DS (Nintendo). Love the animal details, so much better!
Around the 14:47 mark, NPC in the far right has the same hair style as Pokemon DLC NPC in the future school character. The X hair style between their eyes. Check it out

definitely giving pokemon vibes for sure. i loved old HM games, i hope this is good so i can play but i am a bit skeptic about some things, like i dont think open world would make much sense for this genre idk, it looks so incredibly barren, i feel no motivation to explore those mountains with the same tree model spawned every 5 meters
Personally not sure how I feel about the game, they seem to be going for open world design but the world seems a bit empty. I’m interested in the hybrids and I’m curious how in-depth they’ll go with it.
Lastly for a farming game, they haven’t shown a lot of farming- how big are the fields, where are the animals kept and can the barn be upgraded? The horses also seem a bit awkward. I’m very wary about Natsume games now, since I’ve been scalded so much from them since their first game lost valley

I’ve never hated on the Natsume Harvest moon games. The quality was bad, yes but I still enjoyed playing them. My guilty pleasure. The Wonderful Life remake hasn’t really been calling to me though. I’m much more excited to play this game. And it does give off some strong Pokémon vibes and I’m here for it.
The 3D graphic looks like it was from a Pokémon game indeed, however I think it is missing the 2D characters art, which could show more of each character’s style and feelings. Hopefully the relationship part of the gameplay wasn’t neglected as a result of the much improved 3D graphics.
the dogs are super cute but if I'm to be 1000% honest with the amount of farm sims coming out these days, many of them being good, it'll take a bit more than this trailer for me to be sold on a Natsume Harvest Moon game. I don't love how super saturated and shiny everything is honestly and the horse race looked a little janky. If it gets good feedback though I'll add it into my giant backlog lol.

Ok my very 1st impression was that this DOES look like an app game, then you commented that it DOESN't. Haha! Maybe it's due to the similarities in design to the new gen Pokemon games, but I can't quite get psyched for this game. It looks cute, but I was so burned by Scarlet/Violet; I hyped myself up for those games, just for them to turn out "meh." 😅I LOVE OG Harvest Moon, but rn I think I'm a pass on this one. I'm more excited for Paleo Pines, which also comes to Switch in September. But I'd watch you play this for sure!

Straight up, I hate the Story of Season Vs. Harvest Moon BS. I don't blame any company in this since both of them are right what they did, and they company behind Harvest Moon was given lemons, and they are making lemonade.
Besides, more farming games are always good.

The reflection of the sun off the water is too bright. Otherwise it looks good. I can't play Dreamlight Valley either because of the sun glaring off the water.
I get enough farming games from Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, and a few indies and I don’t care much for Natsume as a company (though they’re certainly not the worst out there), so even if it’s a good game I probably won’t ever buy it. I hope those who do enjoy it!
I’m a pretty avid Harvest Moon player and have played pretty much all of the games. First thoughts, I don’t think I’ll like this one, doesn’t appeal to me at all. Not Harvest Moon style imo . This is just my opinion though. But I don’t like it. Maybe it’s the music, not harvest moon style music to me and I think it’s throwing me off. It’s good music don’t get me wrong but just not harvest moon style. Plus the graphics and details are lacking big time. I’d be interested to see it being streamed when you buy it and waste your money on it 😆
I know for me, Natsume has lost the ability to make a game I’ll purchase in “good faith”. I’ll definitely check it out when you play it, but I’m definitely not buying a Natsume game on Day 1.
I also hope the world isn't going to be as bare as One World, that was so disappointing.
Looks pretty good! I loved Light of Hope for Switch but One World was a bust.

Sorry Pat, you and I are not on the same page with this one. The art style of this (and by extension Pokémon) reminds me of My Sims on the Wii. Only worse because we’re 2 console generations on from the Wii. Idk, maybe I’m just too pick and expect too much from video games. Nintendo spoils us. Alas, I shall wait to see you play it!

I refuse to support Natsume's deceptive garbage.
I am so over these character designs. They all look the same! The player and all the NPCs. They look like a pokemon trainer template with variations in hair, eye color and skin color. Diversity is not just slapping dark skin on your character and calling it a day.
This is not Harvest Moon. Harvest Moon is now story of seasons. This is some other developer that got the harvest moon name stolen from the real harvest moon. All their games have been garbage so far, skip it.
I’ll be honest, I’m not interested at all in any of these new farm sims. I have other farm sims that I already enjoy to the point that any that have come out are a letdown for me for various reasons (art style, graphics, mechanics, uniqueness of story or extra content outside of basic farming sims, etc). After a certain point the concept has become super redundant and I think I’m personally at that point with the genre, sadly. Just burnt out.
As for this particular game, the art style doesn’t appeal to me. I feel like my comment could be perceived as very negative but I don’t really mean it to be!
I have to be honest, this just looks bad. I have never played Harvest Moon, I have never watched any trailers, or anything. My honest opinion is that it just looks bad, the world looks empty, the textures look oversized and low-res, the volcano looks weird (I understand modelling a volcano is hard so I will let that slide), most of the animations look overly repetitive (almost as if it was just a 1-2-1-2 movement instead of a more 1-2-3-4-5-1-2-3-4-5), the terrain work looks horrible especially with the jumbo sized textures (I can't stand the sand😭😭) and even just the models themselves look a bit jagged, I think out of all of that it's the terrain and empty world that are the worst but all of these things factor in, only thing that I can say looks not bad is the farming. I apologise to any huge Harvest Moon fans but this in my eyes just looks bad.
