I recently acquired a German Blue Ram pair and wanted to create their own tank for just them. A then added some dither fish to make them feel more comfortable. What I will do is remove the babies when they become free swimming and grow them separately in a grow out tank. This will stop them being eaten by the dither fish or the parents. Can't wait for that!! đ

Hiii
Just make sure to get the dither fish out once they start breeding, or else the rams will end up killing them.
Love the slow transition between the tanks, less headache for the viewer đđœ good work MD
This should work for the fry. đ Fingers crossed đ€ for the breeding. I can't wait to see your baby fish grow up.
Rams can make really great parents if you give them the chance to learn. Personally I would remove the dithers and just keep the pair alone and give them the time to adapt to parenting. My Dark Knight ram pair look after the fry for about 2 weeks, then once I remove them they are already looking to spawn again.
Please do a big âbonsaiâ tree. They look awesome and it would be great to know the best way to do it!
Yeah, it would be great. Do you keep Aquascapes?
He did one in a big bowl a while back with monte carlo if you remember that
Pleaseeee MD
MD, filling his voids w sand. Me, filling my voids w MD videos đ¶â€ïž
I get so excited when i get an MD notification!!! No matter what I'm watch i leave to watch your videos đ
Oh my goodness! This is exactly the tank I want! My favorite fish I have ever kept were German Blue Rams. I once bought a male/female pair and, although it's been decades since I did that I seem to remember that they spawned within two weeks of putting them in the tank. They are so much fun to watch, so much character. This video REALLY has me seriously considering getting back into the hobby. This would be a very affordable set up and would make me so, so happy. Damn it, Jim! You're pulling me back into the hobby!
Me, too!
Keeping Blue German Rams for that long... Wich are your water parameters?
@@brunopatario I think you misunderstood what I said. Decades ago I had the pair, I do not still have them.
@@peterwinstonaldredge6927 I'm still interesting to know your water parameters.... Fish Base Tell us to keep them in a Very acid water. I can't reach that acidity
@@brunopatario I'm sorry Bruno. When I had those fish, it was a very long time ago, probably close to 15 years. I have no idea what the parameters were. I actually used to keep records when I was keeping fish but, I deleted all of that information when I decided back then I didn't want to keep fish anymore. Probably a dumb thing to do.
It's greating seeing a scape using common aquaplants such as Bacopa. More of this please đ
I am completely addicted to your videos! The build, the contrasting plant textures, the music, and the stunning fish... even a field trip to Maidenhair Aquatics â€
One my favourite scapes you've done in a long while. Great balance of plants/hardscape and visually stunning. Amazing job MD... đđđ
Well Done! The fish look amazing and your scaping is always a delight.
One of my favorits of the nanos. Jungle + German Blue. Ahhhmaagaaawd!! Followed you since your first no filter Jar-aquarium. Love your work!
Absolutely fabulous set up thank you for sharing. đ€©
The Cyperus helferi really finished it off nicely! I love how they flow towards the center of the tank and create that little open space in the center!
Me too! Stunning!
The art and the artist đŻ
I've been out of the hobby for a few years now but saw some Blue Rams in a local fish shop. beautiful looking fish and they made me think again about getting back into fishkeeping.
...Just found your page recently and am blown away sir!!... Superb attention to detail and it comes across so well that you love what you do!!...Ty so much for giving me more inspiration for my tanks!!...
You are a true artist! My first tropical fish were Bolivian Rams. Within a week they started to spawn. But due to my inexperience I really didnât know what to do. But they are such a beautiful fish.
Another awesome video! Almost fell asleep listening to that water running at the end.
Couldn't agree more! MD''s videos have encouraged me to make my aquarium channel. :)
After watching this I feel like I need to step up my plant game for my rasboras
I love watching your videos. My little daughter and I watch them and she always says âMommy what are you laughing at and you should make our fish tanks look like that.â Hehe - Iâm sure my husband would love them looking this good too. Your plants always look so healthy and your finished tanks are stunning! I love them. Thank you for sharing!
Another great aquascape and video and twice in 24 hours?! GBRs are a great fish, but I haven't had much luck with them in my area
I breed them myself, you need to find good stock and lots of the online information is inaccurate! I personally think this 12G is too small for a pair it'll cause issues long term 100% :/ minimum 20G for a breeding pair even
what about just one male with some small scholling fish??
@@arandomguy2 Should be fine with Tetras
Stunning tank! Love it
Great tank! The fish are beautiful. đ
Absolutely stunning đ
Amazing tank MD!đ
Wow those fish are stunning.

Another beautiful tank!
Looking forward to seeing the new Apisto tank, ive just brought a pair myself đđŒ
Excellent aquarium decoration. Best aquascaping. The light depends on its strength and spectrum, how the underwater world will look in our house. Cold light is more suited to dark backgrounds, yellow light to light. It is also necessary to pay attention to the driver (transformer) of the light source, you need to choose a high-quality one in which there is no pulsation of light (pulse width modulation) or pulse width modulation of high values. Low pulsation of light has a bad effect on humans, and even more so for underwater inhabitants. Happy Carbon Dioxide Start!
13 mins... So far the best timing to like your video đ
Beautiful đđ love them ramsđ
Fantastic mate!
Hey bro, itâs always nice to watch someone with a bit of experience and what seems like a whole lot of passion do something they thoroughly enjoy to do. Love your work, great information Iâd give 2 likes if it would let me. Keep it up brotha and thank you for the content! I wish I could show you what Iâve done haha take care
Curious to see how the algae situation goes in a warm water setup without CO2. Looks great!
check out my discus tank. Same temperate...zero algae. Fingers crossed for this one đ
@@MDFishTanks Good point! I didn't think about that
I had that , did a week of taking it out with a toothbrush ( couple of minutes before I feed the fish , did a small water change ( I don't change my water , maybe once a year I clean out my filter and replace that water with new water ) and that seems to have sorted it out as of now :)
Beautiful tank!
So beautiful
Brother, you are getting so damn good. Beautiful tank.
Really liked your videos, Thanks watched all.
I just set up my second fishtank with my dad and i finally realised how frustrating it can get when you have to plant all the plants (especially the small ones)
Same! Sometimes the hardest ones are the smallest. I have an aquarium channel dedicated to my hobby! đ
Awesome as always đ
Came out so good man. Love the pinatafifa (or however the hell you spell it). Such a nice texture mixed in.
RAMS are my favorite! I'm so excited!!! A month later!
Good stuff Bro as always....Hoorah!!
never thought of using a jug to acclimatise, I like it.

The natural style looks very eyecatching. I have the Fluval Aquasky and still playing with the light density to get good growth :)
New experiment idea (off camera maybe) with all the root material and green seen in your recycled media, try a sm tank with no inserted plants.....
would LUV to see what grows !!
Mate! I know I'm like 8 Months late but this is a beautiful Aquascape! Giving me some ideas for my 5 G Tank. Going to pick up my Electric Blue Ram today, s/he will be sharing a tank with my pair of Wild Trinidad Guppies, 2 Female Swordtail, and my 2 Purple Mysteries. Keep up the good work, sending you positive vibes from Brooklyn!
Excellent display
I noticed that you seem much more comfortable pronouncing the latin names of the plants, I love that :) 11:55 'Hygrophila Pinnatifida' yesss MD! :D :D
German blues like to spawn on smooth rocks or by cave ish structures
Cool setup MD. Looking forward for update about the fish. You got more plants than the fish store near me. :)
very beautifull ....great...

When he scrapes the paintđ€©
THANK YOU FOR MUTING THE SCRAPING OF THE PAINT SOUND :)
Hi MD, again a beautiful video and a beautiful tank. I love your way keeping stuff simple. But I'm a bit concerned about the size of the tank for German Blue Rams. I know you keep your eyes on the fish and they will be doing well. But I think in a bigger tank they can do even better. I'm keeping GBRs for quite a while now. They do open breeding chosing a flat stone or a big leave to lay their eggs on and I'm afraid the rasboras will be very pleased to get extra food. đł
good day MD.

I got some of them Harlequins from the same tank ;) there great little fish :)
If kept in ponds, they have a red hue
MD I'd love for you to try an IAPLC contest tank and see how you rank. I reckon you'd do well
loving your videos more and more thanks for the tips. i learn in every video.
This is the first time that I have ever seen you put a heater in one of your tanks.
He frequently mentions that he heats the room a little more than some people do, so the tanks that are at room temperature are a reasonable temp for most of the fish he keeps. But some fish, like discus and these rams, need even higher temps, so a heater would be needed.
I have 2 electric blue rams, 2 gold rams, and 2 bolivian rams in various tanks. Some of my favorite fish. Great scape as always.
I just got some harlequin rasbora, which, of course look a lot like the lambchops. Some of my favorite dithers.
Adding a resistor inline with the LEDs will dim them, and also increase their lifespan.
Wishing I got a supply like you... just got 2 very small shops now... with the choice between platy and guppy..
Awesome video, I'll be setting up my Ram tank soon. How are all the plants doing with the warm Temps?
