- A popular tourist place in Sri Lanka is Galle Fort. Originally built by the Dutch this piece of history adds a certain charm from a bygone era.
So what is there to do at Galle Fort? Simply put there is the lighthouse and the clock tower. That is pretty much it. A beautiful maze of streets can pass on an hour or two but won't take you long to get around.
How much is it to eat and drink at Galle Fort? Expensive by Sri Lankan standards and compared to other resorts but we show you prices in the vlog.

The train was awful. We were stood next to an American guy who's linen shirt was soaked from sweat. Must have lost half our body weight. Needless to say it was 1st class from Bentota to Colombo. Had we booked in advance it would have been much more civilised. Both me and Becky ate the same thing but it was me who got unlucky. I'm now sporting a six pack from all the weight loss! 😆 Big jokes, I'm still fat x

The history seems interesting but I think you are right, one night there. Can't believe how much prices have increased in such a short time but that seems to be most places now. Sorry to hear John was unwell and hope he is ok now.
All good. Sadly inflation is crazy in Sri Lanka, although some are more greedy than others!
I agree with you Galle Fort the place is very nice but food and drinks are too expensive also for locals, thats not o.k I was in Galle for about two month!
We agree Hans. Unfortunately tourists drive prices up and not down. People then get used to inflated prices and think that if some will pay it then it's acceptable. A sad but true story.

It was a restaurant in Mirissa. Strange really as me and Becky both had the same things to eat but the luck of the draw meant I got caught out. In fairness it's the first illness out of the whole trip so far, although we are heading to India tonight so I guess it's good practice!

Restaurants inside galle fort are pretty much expensive. You should go in to the city. I was a student at the engineering faculty in galle and we had plenty of cheap places to grab some quality meals from. But it’s really hard to find a good restaurant in galle town. Hope you enjoy your stay. Thanks for visiting and spreading awareness.

that's how touristy places are, anywhere in the world! If you want to eat cheap in Galle, go out of the Fort.
Yep, we should have been prepared but it's highlighted it for our viewers who travel on a budget. We had contemplated spending an extra night out of the fort to explore that but we decided to head straight to Bentota instead. Thank for watching Ude!

Yeah I was fine by the time we got to Galle. Arrived in Delhi at 6am today and already thinking about a hunger strike to be safe 😆
