    for those of you asking, there isn't a badge for this video! I didn't have time to make a badge, sadly. However, I will be a panelist on Just Julij's channel tomorrow (August 20th) at noon EST (link: czcams.com/video/9oRS0jIFtgQ/video.html) and there is a badge for that!

    Thank you for sharing your fitting process! Appreciated the note about seeing where the "rabbit ears" on the front piece can go, and how you adjusted the pattern to take care of it. Cardboard mockups are so helpful when it comes to stays, IMHO.

    Really appreciate your thinking to mention an option for people with hand pain. It's definitely an obstacle: used to LOVE eyelets and now they're my bane 🤣

      @@GraciePattenSewing finger pain from getting a needle through all the layers of fabric
      I have tried pushing the fabric down on the needle with the needle wedged into a board, pliers, different thread, different needles, on and on
      Absolutely awful. Makes it so close to impossible. Takes hours an eyelet sometimes.
      Hope you're doing well

    I would have never thought of a cardboard mockup! Definitely will try that whenever I'll make stays... that might be a long time in the future but still

    Great video! I'm planning on making my own pair of stays soon. I've made my pattern but have been putting off making a mock up of it, but I think your cardboard mockup might be the trick to get me to work on them again, so thanks! As someone who also makes videos, I appreciate all the moments where you do the thing at awkward angles to make the filming angle clear and informative ;P

    Gracie the stays Queen does it again! Does the boning change the fit very much, or does it just smooth things out?

    • @GraciePattenSewing
      @GraciePattenSewing  Před 3 lety

      it smooths things out and it makes them a little smaller (marginally so)
