  • Milagros is the Spanish word for “Miracles” and has been something I’ve collected for over 25 years. I love to use soaping as my creative outlet and coming up with new ideas is something I try to do as often as I can. I decided to combine my love for Milagros / Ex Voto / Sacred Hearts into this Milagros soap design.
In this video I embellish my cold process soaps with decorated Melt & Pour Sacred Hearts I made with a cookie cutter. If you try this method, make sure to cut out your shapes soon after the M&P cools so it’s easy to punch through.
I painted on each heart with a mix of Mica and Isopropyl Alcohol.
After cutting I planed and beveled each soap, then wiped down with a microfiber cloth.
I then attached my Milagros using soap dough from the CP soaps I had made. The soap dough is just made from the soft scraps from my planing and shaving.
Each soap will be sold in a bag with Milagros Charms attached.
I include the recipe below including the Micas and fragrance I used.
***Test batching: I recommend doing a test batch if you're using a new recipe, fragrance oil, or special additives. You don't want to ruin a large batch if things don't go as planned! This is my test batch size. You can adjust yours to suit your needs.
