      Don't have a name for you Sorry the average mma fighter in ufc gets more than the average boxer. It’s only the huuuge boxing matches there is a big payday. If you pick someone none ranked from the ufc and someone none ranked in boxing the ufc fighter gets more. Also in boxing they are building your record they make you box cab drivers and when you are 14 and 0 and get a legitmate contender and lose you are out of boxing forever, something that would never happen in mma. Also they make a lot on sponsors and when they have a name. Gsp made something around 35 million alone on sponsors. Also you are a free agent in boxing thats why they can hold multiple titles in multiple organizations. Mma fighters on a pro level are signed to one promotion only. Imagine if you are a freelancer if you build a name multiple companies will contact you and give you multiple numbers to do some work compared to a guy who has a permanent job with a permanent income. You can’t really compare boxing with mma when it comes to the business.

He does not want to risk the bad publicity and have the fighters really scrutinize the deal they're getting.

Just wait another 20 years and UFC will be paying their fighters a hell of a lot more. You seriously can't compare salaries of UFC Fighters to Boxers...
    MMA(UFC) = 20 Years
    Boxing = Over 100 Years
    Ofc top ranked boxers would get payed more... but soon they wont get payed much because it's a dying sport, so really.. UFC Fighters aren't getting fucked over.

Oh and most boxers get paid shit too. Its just the top guys that ppl like to compare those figures to.

    It's definitely about the money. But I see a little of his point. Or I should say his justification. If they disclosed fighters pay, the only thing people will talk about is money. Then fighters will compete with each other - for pay, and then some fighters will not fight unless they get X or Y. And then the UFC will have competitors who will offer more - this and that, and we have MMA becoming boxing. Probably a little exaggerated but I see how he uses that as justification.

    i never understood why americans are so sensitive about disclosing their salaries.
    i once asked a girl in NY how much does she make - and she almost slapped me . wtf ppl should share this so other ppl will know if the job is worth it .imho

    • @TheFrostyBlur
      @TheFrostyBlur Před 8 lety

      +TheKoderius That is very rude. No-one likes other people to know what they're making to support their family and themselves. Someone could be making pennies and you would be like "That's sad....Maybe we should help them?" Then clearly that relationship would be terrible. Of course you could get the person that's making a easy million and then you would be like "That's not fair and way too much money" then that relationship would be fucked because you would be sad that your former friend is making way more money than you. Also it's just personal. If you want to know how much a job pays then look online or ask the employer.....Don't ask random people how much money they make....

    • @sasizzarrustuta8919
      @sasizzarrustuta8919 Před 6 lety

      People hide their salaries so it's easier for the employer to discriminate based on personal preference.

  • @izzy7062

    Dana White admits it all the time. he's always reminding the viewers and fighters that the UFC is bigger than any of the fighters. he also set up Rhonda Rousey with a fighter he knew would beat her, since she was already contemplating taking time off and possibly retiring with the belt. Just ask GSP, he eont let that happen.

  • @conorhill9758
    @conorhill9758 Před 10 lety

    Ok so the UFC fighters on average make less than Boxers but they are still making some crazy amounts of money and i doubt you'll find one that's gonna complain too seriously about it, they are living their dream and getting paid a lot of money to do it, the media and fans are the only ones that care about comparing it to boxing

  • @KungfooJoey
    @KungfooJoey Před 9 lety +1

    Great comments Dana.. but thats the perfect thing about the UFC, I think 90% of the fighters would fight for free if their training and living bills were paid for. Money cant buy you immortality, the UFC can..

    • @KungfooJoey
      @KungfooJoey Před 9 lety

      :) my point is the ufc is like the premiership now, and I would play in that on a Sunday for free! and when I said living bills I was talking about all u can eat buffets and free entry to titty bars)..

    • @Chuschannel
      @Chuschannel Před 9 lety

      I totally agree. Once you start raising wages, then it's hard to scale back down. Before the UFC got popular, guys were basically fighting for free, or for peanuts anyway.

  • @STFUppercut69
    @STFUppercut69 Před 11 lety +1

    But son, boxing is not MMA. Boxing is much more popular and when something is much more popular, there is much more money involved. Also, when you talk about boxing and the big money you probably have the biggest names in mind and the same applies for MMA. Big names in MMA do earn a lot of money. As much as boxers? Probably not but they're earning pretty damn good for people who don't have to be edjucated, but just go in and throw kicks and punches.

    .. I had read somewhere that the mma fights also generate quite a significant amount of money .... in some cases more than boxing .... so plz Dana... dont act like your doing these fighters a favor .... I love when ppl like him act like they're doing someone a favor bu paying them ..... seriously !!??!!!!?!!! Every fight can be life changing... physically and or mentally! .... now I know that the fighters are aware of this ....... but come on !

    not one of my arguments were ad hominem. I never once attacked you personally. I simply said your math and english were wrong. Ad hominem would be something like "you're fat" or "it's because you're black" or something to that nature. if i came off as "i'm right you're wrong deal with it" then i apologize as that was not my intent. i could have definitely been more diplomatic about it, but it's hard to want to be diplomatic with someone who is already attacking someone else (in this case dana)

      B9King937 Most people hate their bosses. You build a business by pleasing your customers, not always your workers. Most workers are a dime a dozen. Some workers are very valuable and those are the only ones you have to compromise for.

Yeah, you can say "ill just go to an easier job" but those would be taken before you know it. So they need employment, they'll take anything.

    Fact is they sign a contract and if you don't like what's in it don't sign it and then bitch and moan about it.
    The ufc is VERY particular on getting them to understand EXACTLY what they're signing too. They give them NO AMMO, so if a fighter then comes out and starts bitching its completely their own fault. Period. People need to learn a few basic business subjects so they don't demonize people undeservingly. If it weren't for Dana white NO ONE would be getting paid and we wouldn't even HAVE the ufc.
