It's considered unprofessional in the entertainment world to stop and start over. Regardless of whether it's singing, dancing, or any performance...you're not suppose to do that. If this was a musical, and she stopped the scene to have a do-over, it would take the audience out of the story being told. That's basically how it's look at. You're suppose to course correct and continue, never stopping the performance. It's professionalism 101 on stage. The extremely forgettable Shakespeare In Love being clearly mistakenly announced as Best Picture winner over one of the all-time best movies, and widely regarded as THE best war movie of all time, Saving Private Ryan still haven't been corrected nearly 20 years later...
But that was a surprise win, not a case of 'the wrong winner being announced'. Remember that Harrison Ford had every reason to root for "Saving Private Ryan" to win, as an actor who has worked with Spielberg. Why would have he have gone 'off cue' and given it to a rival movie?

I would like to see a study saying just as many women want to direct as men. I don't think that's the case. Yes, Hollywood has way too many issues to name, but if you're talented enough you'll get a shot at directing. I haven't heard of a glass ceiling when it comes to directing. Executives, yes, but directing? Not so much.
