Ok, It is best to remove battery first, but SIR yellow connectors have an internal shorting bar. Disconnected, the copper bar drop down across both terminals shorting the circuit. This keeps everyone safe regardless of training. The plastic tabs on connectors are called "Connection Positive Assurance", a CPA simply makes sure the connector is completely seated and can not come out by accident. (Tip; Go to Rock Auto, make, model and year. Find electrical, click to find the steering position sensor. Open one to look at but click the little number next on top left, it displays a chart of vehicles this part fits) more information is better. I did subscribe but was looking for the "Part 2" where you installed it, cleared the code and got it working. "NOW", there is a re-learn if I am not mistaken, but 2013-2015 uses the same parts and software. My GM Tech-II is not programmed passed 2010. New software will take it to 2013. GM uses a laptop based live system since China flooded the market with cheap knocks-offs that fail fast and software. But using 2013 software, lye to the scanner and say 2013.

I have a Chevrolet Orlando 2011 Auto Diesel in UK, i have a slippery car road sign on all the time since a week, no T/C light. Mechanic Diagnostics says SWASM(steering wheel angle sensor module). Not very easy to get part for Chevy in UK not sold here anymore. Do you think changing angle sensor is the fault? drives smoothly no other issues while driving.

That 4 plastic pins that needs to be pushed for the clock spring to release the sensor while pulling up at the same time was the worst part of it, what an $--#&&! design.

No cameras come in the car. Only backup camera if equipped! The SIR system however record a loop of data only. In runs for 10 seconds, 12 seconds and 15 seconds in some models. It records over its self and captures speed, brake pedal position, engine RPM, and many functions that if you have an accident, special equipment plays it back and shows what you were doing at the time of the wreck, like sleeping or going faster or stepping on the brakes. It can not be erased and is bolted to the floor pan in a rigid area to use electronic accelerometers to detect how hard the hit was. Air bags don't go off on their own and have to be a force and angle to hit a concrete barrier at 30 MPH within 10 degrees left or right of center. Most have two deployment modes, soft and hard. If too close to the steering wheel you get a soft and perhaps some injury. Arms forward, seat back to comfortable position allows the seal belt first to protect you, the SIR, plus Knee shield under the dash to protect legs. Hall-effect sensor is placed on seat track to determine how close you are. Passenger side has a bladder sensor in seat cushion to detect less than / more than 42 pounds. Below, no deployment, above 42 pounds then deployment of inflator module, if too close or back farther determines if soft or hard combine with accelerometer on SIR Module. Police, highway patrol, and others can read and print perimeters for use in court. It locks and disconnects on many models so it cannot be damaged or altered. It is the law!
