  • Sharing with you what I found out about Prim watches and the vintage Prim manual wind watch I bought from ebay last November 2020. The company was founded in 1949 after World War 2 in Czechoslovakia. I hope this video is able to pique your interest in this Czech watch brand!
    If you have experience with the Prim brand, I'd love to see your comments about the watch brand. Thank you!

    Prim is a real good and historical brand. I have a 1969 Prim Elegant, and after a good service, it runs very well 👍🙂

    After a full service, your Prim will likely run very accurately and the power reserve should increase as well. Thank you very much for sharing. :)

      @AliasEveWatches  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Thank you for watching! 😁 So far it's pretty accurate but the power reserve could use some improvement.

      @@AliasEveWatches it was a great video. Likely the main spring and barrel have old lubricant that's dried up. It would probably be cheaper to probably just replace with a new main spring and that will also increase the amplitude. :)

    Vintage is nice, but it's always a lottery, especially with those from 1950-ies. I even don't have any, the oldest I have is from 1960-ies. Still, for 80$ it's maybe ok. Just to let you know, I didn't buy a similar Slava for 15$ recently, coz too much hassle with those old ones :)

    • @AliasEveWatches
      @AliasEveWatches  Před 3 lety +1

      Vintage can really be such a gamble, that's why I tend to go for the affordable ones for the low risk. $15 for the Slava sounds like a good deal though!

      @@AliasEveWatches it had a thin foil bracelet (which is ok, I would throw it away anyway), but main reason for me not buying it was that it had a gold plated case (once) but like 99% of gold was gone. It needed a new plating and it's too much of a bother and is not exactly cheap

    Will the real Prim please stand up!🧐
    I've got a vintage inspired watch that is manual wind and it recoils to a good position to give it another wind. It's a good ETA movement too. It's different but I dont mind it🤷‍♂️

    • @AliasEveWatches
      @AliasEveWatches  Před 3 lety

      Good to know the recoil thing happens on good ETA movements too! It was strange for me to have that happen. What was the brand of your watch that did that?
