  • I have attended the food tour in collaboration with @malmotown.I was invited by @malmotown on the guided food tour “Matkaravan” in Malmö, Sweden. “Matkaravan” translates into ”Food Caravan” and is the original foodie Malmö Food Walk, going strong for more than thirteen years. The tour takes around 2,5 hours with a lot of stops for tastings of the flavors of Malmö, Skåne and the specialities from the wide array of international food stores that line the streets of Sweden’s most multicultural town.
You also get to know a lot about the Swedish food history - e.g. about herring and “fika” that is the Swedish tradition of having coffee and cake.
I started the tour at "Fiskehoddarna" - "The fishing cottages" - in Malmö which are market stalls at Malmöhus and Malmö Museums where fish caught in the Öresund are sold.
The tour ended in the new Malmö Saluhall. This is an obvious destination for anyone who loves quality produce and delicious food. A food market for everyone.
Malmö is only about half an hour by train from Copenhagen.
    About the “Matkaravan”:
“Matkaravan” offers guided food tours where you get to taste your way through the local suppliers and food stands. They provide guided walking food tours to experience the flavors of Malmö, Skåne and the exciting specialities from the wide array of international food stores.
All the guides are culinary professionals who have worked as chefs, sommeliers, food journalists and food stylists. The tours are small (6-15 participants) so there is enough time for questions and special requests. Book a ticket for a tour at MATKARAVAN: matkaravan.se
