Right, it's definately André Bauer! I just love his voice, he is one of my favourite musical-actors! And he is just a sweetheart, really a nice and funny guy!!
I never liked the version of this song that went over the movie credits. This is what this song should be, more of an anthem than an R&B gospel thing. It's perfect for an 11 o'clock number, and it's not on the OGBC soundtrack, which drives me nuts. Because it's amazing.
What do you mean by the "OGBC soundtrack"? Either way, I agree that this is best as the 11 o'clock number of the show, instead of Made of Stone like in the American Stage Version. It has the Ideas in the show come together in one song, and makes more sense in context of Made of Stone's message (That Quasimodo was thought to be "made of something stronger" than stone), and that hearing this song in front of Notre Dame would inspire Quasi to become "something stronger", and ultimately rescue Esmeralda. It's just more flowing and cohesive of a narrative for the story, this way.
