Venice I hope that you find comfort in how your sister has turned out. The things that you are going through at home will shape you and make you stronger. I went through some really tough times in middle and high school, was hospitalized for depression several times and something that always stuck with me was the quote "this too shall pass" no matter how hard something is or feels remember that it's all just temporary and soon that roller coaster of life will go up. I hope this helps you in a time where things feel not so good. Lots of love to you and Elle

This video is so surprising to me because the part of your story that I knew seemed like a success story! It broke my heart when you said "mom look what I did." I think that because you're a mom of three, people forget that you're still only 20. You should have that mom figure in your life to be proud of you, to be there when all your girls were born and be happy for you when you buy a house and be at your wedding. This video really just goes to show how strong you are to achieve all of this so young and without that support system.

Yeah I have a older sibling and grew up the same way. For no one in my family to step up, and take me out of a very unhealthy house was terrible. I don’t have any type of relationship with my family or sibling. They talk to my drug addict father and my narcissist/alcoholic mother as well. They are all very abusive and toxic. My biggest tip is to, make sure you still have a healthy relationship while worrying about yourself also.

I come from a dysfunctional home with substance abuse and violence.
The best thing I ever did was to start attending Al-Anon, Alateen and ACA meetings when I was 14. It has helped me to grow and has given me tools to take on life’s challenges without repeating the dysfunctional behavior .
It’s donation based, so you don’t need a lot of money to access this kind of therapy and recovery.

I relate to you a LOT! I lost my mom 3 months before my 9th birthday. I lost my dad on Thursday, July 29th of this year. Both from overdoses. I have been damaged and broken down to nothing by my dad. He was definitely a narcissist and like the king of manipulation. When I was younger, I didn’t understand either, no kid does. I walked in on my dad when he OD’d, I’ve watched him collapse and I’ve had to narcan him. I’ve witnessed drug use as well. I was ALSO drug into everything, every argument. My dad never got physical but mentally and verbally he was abusive. In so many ways, I relate. My dads girlfriend would say all the time that she would leave him and never stayed away… unfortunately that’s what happens in toxic relationships. I never understood why and hopefully never will with my future significant other

It breaks my heart to hear what you’ve gone through, it’s not your fault and you’ve come out so strong! But it’s still perfectly okay to struggle and have days where you don’t feel strong and you just need to cry. You don’t deserve to be without that motherly figure and I am so sorry. I pray that you can heal from the shame you have, that one day you’ll get to have a relationship with your mom, and that you know how special and amazing you are. Your past does not define you and try to remember your feelings are always valid❤️

Girl you’re beautiful. Inside and out. I had my first child when I was 16 in 2005. He’s now 16!!! I just found your channel by this video. I also had a screwed up dynamic with & because of my mom. You will be so shocked at how the time will change things for your and your family. Time is really the only thing that can and will heal the past. You just continue doing you and taking care of your family the best you can and it will all pay off. Just enjoy those babies while they are small!!!!!!!!!! Time with them right now is the most precious thing that time will not let you have back!! So make it count!!!

I started watching your channel when I was 4-5 months pregnant at 20 years old. Even though you are 3 years younger than me, you taught me so much about being a good mom and not caring about what other people think. I never once though you were someone who came from a hard background or didn't have it all together. Your past does not define who you are and seeing the home that you have created for your three babies is inspiring to me.

i feel every bit of emotion you felt while filming this. you are strong & your friends mom is absolutely right, your trauma & your past does not define you. you are without a doubt one of the strongest young woman i know, you are an amazing momma & being able to know where you came from helps you to be a better you. it’s never easy to navigate through your trauma even when you think you have (lord knows i’ve been there too), but it helps you grow & it will help you know how to help not just yourself, but others and being more understanding. i’ve been following you since you uploaded your first video ever, and i’m so proud of the woman you have become and are still growing into even when life hasn’t always thrown you the nicest events. and you’ve always got support with you & an ear that will listen & a shoulder to cry on 💛

yazmyn, thank you so much for having the bravery and strength to share your life story with us all. it makes those of us who have gone through similar situations feel not alone in this world and validates our experiences that we never felt like was such a big deal before. So many girls including myself used to try to fill our empty spaces in life with hooking up with guys and getting into dangerous scenarios at parties then not realizing that we were taken advantage of and violated afterward because we would blame ourselves for partying (which of course never makes it ok for any one take advantage of someone just because we drank or smoked). I personally realized after all these years that older guys in their twenties would prey on me in my mid teens and i never truly realized at the time how wrong that really was. All of these experiences make us stronger and shape us into the amazing people and mothers we are today. I have a 4 year old son and another on the way and I live in my own bought condo with my little family. This is why i love watching your channel because you keep it real with us and i can relate a lot to you in different ways. Keep being you :)

I’m now married and get to actively choose to live my life how I want and I find it so inspiring to see that you’re doing the same!! I still struggle with the thought that I’m bound do after like my parents but seeing you and how you live your life is so reassuring that I can also be strong enough to do the same. I really admire you for being brave enough to post this.

Yasmyn, thank you for sharing your story. You are doing so much good by speaking your truth on your channel. I’ve recently been revisiting childhood trauma and i came to a similar conclusion with my therapist about how it never really leaves you. You expect to talk it through a couple times and then to be done with it emotionally. But that’s not how it works. I’m just thankful that you had the courage to tell us what you’ve been through. And I know so many other people, especially young girls, need more role models who discuss mental health and trauma openly. This is how we heal. ♥️ keep on being you. You have turned things that were unfortunate and out of your control into a life and family that is beyond beautiful. And that’s something to be proud of. You’ve made your CZcams channel into a legitimate business and your hard work and creativity is inspiring. Your friend’s mom was right and it’s advice that so many of us need to hear: Let go of your shame. You are not the things that have happened to you. Here’s to you and your courage and kindness. 👏🏼
