As an armchair guy myself, I can agree that things can be worked on. (I no idea what tho becatse I'm just an armchair guy lol) However! You guys still did a great job on getting it out. If I could give a gold star, I would.

I agree, definitely not perfect but pretty damn good. Especially for a volley dept that dosnt have the funding, time, or call volume to practice this every other day like OKC

buddy on the roof covering his face with his flash hood instead of the big air bottle on his back with a mask

It's obvious these guys are volunteers. They are very poorly trained.

@@jmWhyMe how so? The got a quick knock on a deep seated fire, and started verticle ventilation on a multi-layered homeowner modified roof. You can go to OKC and they'll have some trouble with the same situation.

@@soonerstatefirephotography the chain saw wouldn't start - didn't have daily maintenance. One officer on the roof not using SCBA, and using Halligan rather than pike or rake. Neither officer sounding the roof before stepping on it. First officer on roof grabbing chainsaw by blade, should I go on?

@@soonerstatefirephotography I will grant you that many paid big city departments are very bad. FDNY, LAFD come to mind, but that doesn't excuse everything I saw here...

@@soonerstatefirephotography I was a volunteer for many years, Lt., Captain and Assistant Chief for several for several of them. There are so many things done incorrectly. No mask on, one with no helmet, some with no gear on at all, grabbing the chainsaw by the blade, not sounding the roof, putting water in a ventilation hole. I'm sure I missed others.

@@jmWhyMewell claiming that LAFD and FDNY are very bad just absolutely demolished any credibility you might have had, but otherwise, chainsaws and other tools, (k saws, blowers, ect) all have problems they almost never start perfectly, like in a TV show. They sounded the roof, I just didn't film that part cause i was talking to a firefighter and got distracted, the use of a hali confused me at first too, but as I stated in the description, it was a multi-Layered roof, with add ons done by the home owner, meaning it had to be pulled vertically, poking it with a pole wouldn't have helped. They sprayed water in the vent hole becouse for the now third time, multi Layered roof with an insulated void space on fire.
Just becouse you see a particular way of doing things, on a TV show or training video, dosnt mean that's the only way to do it, any real firefighter knows you have to adapt and improvise in this service. Your only real complaint is the guy not wearing a mask for 30 seconds becouse he was out of air. Also, these aren't officers Drumright ffs wear red helmets.
