- Emergency Alert System (EAS) scenario about SCP-787 (The Plane That Never Was) on the West Coast. The aircraft discovered in a local pasture last week has been positively identified as a Boeing model 747 commercial airliner. There remains no new information regarding how it landed in the field or who might be responsible for placing it there.

With the people in this video assuming the soviets where responsible for this, the decision to have Kitsap county as the place in which SCP-787 was found is interesting to me. Kitsap county, and more specifically the Bangor Trident naval base, which contains nuclear warheads capable of mass destruction. The US wouldn't want the soviets anywhere near that.
Although, the Soviets wouldn't use a Boeing aircraft in the first place. It would instead be an Ilyushin or an Antonov.

You realize that every resident of Washington State would take this as a challenge and would confront law enforcement head on if this was worded this way.
Not in 1987, they wouldn't. It was a very different time. If the EAS was telling them Societ infiltrators might be in the area, the people would cooperate very eagerly, and probably use it as an excuse to rat out those dope-smoking college kids.

I like how almost all the other EAS scenarios were set in the near-distant future but this one is set in 1985.
And the recent in 2016.
I think automatically declaring war and a draft without even knowing too much about this was a HUGE step haha but great job as always
If you're too young to remember, 1985 was a VERY tense time in the United States when it came to geopolitics. We were deathly afraid the Soviet Union would attempt a nuclear strike of some kind. A stealthed 747 could easily be modified to carry a couple free-fall, multi-Megaton bombs, and be used by the Soviets to say "See? We can strike you anywhere, at any time, and you can't stop us. Surrender or be nuked to oblivion."
That would start World War III. Period. Nukes first, ground invasion of Europe to follow depending on the damage done to both sides. Gloves, off. Mass civilian casualties - tens of millions. It would be the End of Civilization with a capital "C" and the rise of multiple warring states all over the globe as nations fell apart. Mass starvation. Mass deaths from otherwise-preventable disease. Reduction in Human population from around 6 billion to about 3 billion within 10 years (especially if India and Pakistan decided to nuke each other, and everyone WITH nukes decided this was the time to use them).
If this had been a Soviet aircraft violating US air space, World War III would have happened within 24 hours.
..yes, I'm aware that both the F-117 and B-2 existed at this time, but information about them was unknown to the public in 1985, and whatever the Soviets knew, was mostly speculation. This would have been a demonstration of imminent threat - a loaded gun aimed at the United States' proverbial head. We WOULD have responded, no question about it.
I mean it is the Cold War, at first they probably assumed it was the soviets.

If:
1) The plane is Soviet in origin
2) The plane is part of a "First Strike" operation
3) The USSR is taking military action against the United States in a deliberate and unprovoked attack
Then the entire country would volunteer to fight to the bitter end. They wouldn't need the Draft. But, they'd reinstate it anyway, because they'd need an orderly manner in which to draw manpower from the citizenry. Literally the only people that would object if all three of those things were true, would be Socialist 5th Columnists in the United States trying to undermien the country.. or, rather, that's what the lynch mobs would tell themselves when/if anyone to the left of Senator Sanders, stood up and said "We shouldn't fight."

The threat of an unprovoked attack on the United States had everyone worried. After the draft was stopped in the first place, it was made clear that _this exact scenario_ would be the only reason to reactivate it. The nation's mentality was such that they WOULD accept it - or, at least, those that didn't, wouldn't open their mouths about it if one of our major cities just got nuked off the map.
It's hard to explain just how much the country's collective mind was on the idea that we might see World War III before the end of the century. How much the nation was preparing to sacrifice to win that conflict. How much they were willing to accept as an insult and imposition to their daily lives, to achieve victory. Unless you grew up in that era and were politically engaged in some way, orr could observe the most popular outlet for these fears: Computer games.

As a person who loves scp and planes, I was surprised that there was an scp about my favourite plane, and just a fact the 747 was named the queen of the skies! But considering that the 747 is a real plane, and giving it the name scp-787, it would’ve been kinda funny using a Boeing 787.

loved it! I like how last time it was audio recordings but now photos! Also though it a neat detail that it was first seen in ‘85, but found in a field in ‘87
Firstly this is the best alert tone next to sponge clock Alert secondly this has the best presentation so far to the point where they should hire you for the actual EAS broadcasting thirdly is the first time one of Your EAS mocks takes place before 2020. And finally, I loved how the broadcast is progressing through the years and the alert screen changes accordingly finally is there a way to hire you to make these, and can we use them in our videos with your credit?? if not I understand there still cool either way. have a good day Alert World :)

im shocked that you managed to take the nonsensical 787 and make a coherent story around it. the brief, realistic pictures were an amazing touch, and were surprisingly scary. the first one at 1:59 actually shocked me a little.

Video idea: scp- 323 the wendigo skull. It can take place in Roseau county Minnesota in the USA of course because that’s where people think it. The threat is first seen when 2 friends hunting mistake the creature for some sort of deer and when shooting it get attacked. The rest of what happen to them is up to you and the rest of the video is up to you. I haven’t done too much research on this so I guess yet again the rest is up to you. You might not see this but if you do I would appreciate it if you did :) keep up the great work these videos are beyond amazing and you should keep it up. Awesome video as always! Have you considered doing an EAS scenario with SCP 173 revised? It's a story where SCP 173 begins to duplicate itself, rapidly overwhelming the foundation and the world at large. I think a take on it in your style would be a fascinating watch.

Cool, though the whole "failure to report x is equivalent to doing x" seems a bit extreme for 1987. Sure, during the height of trying to contain communism, I could see the US prosecuting people in fear of communism. But this is way after that. Otherwise though, great video!
It's not unreasonable at all. I lived through that time, and I can say that after "Red Dawn" was released, the very idea that Soviet infiltrators were THAT close to Seattle and Bremerton (several major military bases), would have been cause to blanket the area in G-Men and start rounding up dissidents, for fear someone's hiding some Soviet saboteurs that somehow got into the United States from that aircraft.
honestly the government during the cold war was so anxious and paranoid that if you showed any sign of communism you’d be shamed out of a community or arrested. it was fucking bad. some of that is still prevalent today: definitely not to the degree it was, but the hate for communism is so engrained in american culture from that era.

Alert request: SCP-901-TH "The Giant head, is a handcrafted paperboard-and-brass mask designed to resemble the head of a Giant. The mask is used in Thailand for the Khon Dance. Its currently used in the traditional Thai Khon dance. When left alone it just does simply nothing but waiting until its next victim puts it on. It only changes its current states if only someone puts it on their head but something very disturbing happens. Wearing the mask will result in instant death by an attack by an Unknown Entity or just a ghost. The mask or ghost will suppress its control on the wearers face or soul to take over the human body for itself. Once the soul is taken over the monster will have multiple arms from its torso to the ribcage. Then, it becomes violent and very hostile to anyone its sees due to the ghosts control. The beast has high speeds and is very powerful making it impossible to escape SCP-901-TH. The only way to stop SCP-901-TH is to sadly kill the host in any way. But the mask does no damage for no reason and should be useless again once the host is killed. This beast is fearsome and will not feel any pain until its death. And its takes 1 FREAKING minute for the mask to take control. As for the arms the host can control each one for the use of murder its prey. The SCP Foundation will not use it for any testing due to its deadly nature by the order of SCP High ranks.

Yeah, thats pretty weird, SCP 787 is a Boeing 747-200 commercial airliner, the 747-200 doesnt have winglets, it has an aerodynamic line on the edge of the wing

the photo taken by the amateur photographer at 6:34 shows the top of the plane even though the photographer is on the ground. if you look closely enough you can see the windshield and the engines being partially covered by the wings.

About the warning to not change the channel, I feel that you wouldn’t be able to turn your tv off during a eas alert much less change the channel due to the fact that tvs are designed to give whatever is behind eas control of your tv during eas and also all your devices will say the same eas thing
