great performance UST CSGC!
miss ko rin ang annual UST Intercollegiate Songfest.
I was.. like obsessed with the song a year ago. and then I remember it. and eventually I found it :)
I've been watching this periodically as I look through my favorites off and on for about a year, and this still blows me away.
they are amazing
and i love the accents
love it.
the beauty of choirs from the Philippines.
so impressive, congratulations, love the sopranos they were perfectly in tune.
GREAT!!!
I love this one. Very good choir, best version of the song Ive found so far, up to tempo, very good. congratz
ganda ng arrangement ng kanta! taas ng soprano ha! galing!
I've heard the Moses Hogan Choir and an all male rendition of the same song. UST sure made it more voluptous. Great show. And clear sounds too
Bravo
Hey, i'm from Canada, and its vids like these that make me proud to be a flip! YAY! and haha go tenors ;)
Yeah, I'm still watching it. I always loved the solo part and the song in general, but the adding to it made it more amazing than it already was. It still amazes me after listening to it like twenty times. Yeah, double post.
OH. MY. GAWD.
amazing job!! i sang this in grade 10 and i loved this song! the way UST CSGC sang it is.. amazing!! you can definitely hear all the parts, the emotion was GREAT... and holy, when THAT soprano hit the high F... it just sent shivers down my spine. this is the best version i've seen so far!
ang lupit, punyeta! ang galing ninyo! ♥
the two sopranos at the latter was amazing.. we sang this in our choir too.. :)
wow, daming comments hehe! miss ko na kumanta kuya dennis... sana matuloy na yung alumni choir natin.
burn
wow, our school is doing this for our concert and we sound nothing like you guys. you guys absolutely sang that song so well. I can't believe the note she hit, and that note isnt on the version of the sheet music we have. just simply amazing
my high school chamber chorus did this a few years ago, this song is amazing and you guys did an amazing job. seriously this is awesome
This is the true voice of the CSGC! Sana magawa rin nila 'to. =))
omg tht was awesome....
Tinding-balahibo ung descant!!! :)) I didn't expect that! :)
wow, wow.
Thank you once again for all your comments! We really appreciate them! :-)
The timing was perfect
Grabe! I miss being with the UST CSGC! -tsuBen-
Thank you very much for all your comments!
YOUR ALTOS ARE GOOD!
O-M-G
what a performance!!!
nice one...
got the notes, the dynamics, and the interpretations.....
great job..
Nice sopranoes specifically in the part at 1:30-1:40..
Yes that's in the piece. When the men answer "Jericho" the chords are as follows: JE(Fm6) RI(Fm) CHO(Fm7). That's why maybe you hear it as dissonant. Thanks!
I was watching this, listening, etc, thinking, hey this was pretty good. Then there was the top soprano part. Now, I know this song, so I was expecting it. There was an extra part, a harmony on top of the regular part, and I just dropped my jaw. Wow.
I love this song even more now because of this video. ou guys blew us away when they came two years ago, I'll never forget the powerof Clodburst. That's when I was introduced to whitacre. and this song.. Damnnnn
That high F gave me goose pimples!!!! WOW!
Hello oblivionIIT. I'm Philippe, I just graduated from the College of Science and am an alumnus of the College of Science Glee Club. There are certain choirs in the University, especially college/faculty-based choirs that allow people to join only if they're students of their respective college/faculty. You could try Coro Tomasino, Liturgikon (from the Conservatory of Music), or maybe the renowned UST Singers.
GRABE!!!!
Thank you once again for all your comments! We'll take note of them so we can further improve our singing. You may also like to watch our other videos. Just type ust csgc choral music in the search bar & click search, then choose a video. Enjoy! GOD bless! :-)
brilliant rendition po! i just wonder where can i get the same satb arrangement of this piece...can any1 help me?
You're welcome! Thank you for your comment & good luck to your choir as well! :-)
Yes, you're right. They are still young but may be in the future they can be good singers.
WOW I am a lover of choirs and choral music and I have yet to hear this Moses Hogan arr. done better!
woah threw me at the end
Was that high note really 3rd F from middle C? If so, that was awesome!
Sir, I have a choir in church though this kind of singing may not be for worship (it might be too much for people in the mood for prayer)I asked one of my members to watch this. I finally got a copy of this from another conductor and frankly, it is tempting. I watched another video of this peice from youtube and frankly, even the original (the one with moses hogan) is not as terse, well controlled nor as fantastic as yours. Thanks for sharing.
i love this, we almost did this, haha, you can here their accents :D
Very awesome. I sang this song in my Tenth year. It was great fun :}
It's kind of heard to understand, though. You might want to work on diction. That could easily be the recording, though.
This was very well sung.
magaling!
anyone else gets the chills at 1:25?
UNT Choir's (from ravenboytx's video) Basses are GREAT!!! Thanks for your comment, sisazul! :-)
Hi Chris! I'm the present conductor of the UST CSGC. Thanks for your comments! I remember watching your concerts before. I love the UST Singers! Ate Jingbee is in the U.S. now & they've formed a UST Singers Alumni Choir. Are you part of that? Anyway thanks again!
ogad! that's some shrillery. one things for sure- i did get goosebumps >_>
who id that hitting the hig note with the solo its ah may zing
the men were much better than those of the other choirs who usually attempt this piece (i perfer ravenboytx's men better) but the women were astounding! really the soloists were incedible, and it is very difficult to try to blend with a choir for the ending with notes like those because of how they carry- that was perfection girls!!
This is a continuation for oblivionIIT:
...I believe these three are University-based (I'm not pretty sure about Liturgikon, though, but my classmate [from Science] tried to join and she was accepted) organizations, so you can try to join them even if you are enrolled in GradSchool. What are you majoring in GradSchool, by the way?
Go CSGC! =)
1:36 OMG
i cant get over the fact that they're pronouncing 'battle' as the 'buttle'...i dunno, it just sounded that way. aside from that, i think this is marvelous!
Thank you! May I know the name of your choir? Good luck with your performance!
Wow. Hah. That was amazing. It looks like that F about knocked the Soprano off her feet.
I'm currently a graduate student from the UST Graduate School. How can I join any choir at the University?
I wanted to join but I don't know what choir I am allowed to join..Hope you can help me. Thank you very much c".b
1:36 - filipino version of Mariah Carey....
yeah, the asian voice is suberb at least in tenors.
A little fast but over all good:)
Dear Doc,
I;ve been listenin to this peice all over you tube. And frankly, the comment that the males don't blend well. Well maybe its not really blend maybe its a function of the recording. Because from where I'm listening there is no clash between sections
@superboi10 My guess is that she did came in later so that she would have enough air to support that high F! I agree, it sounded a little sloppy, though. Should could have snuck in better.
3rd "F" from Middle C
The beginning of the first solo was a bit shaky, but overall, a wonderful solo.
Although, I did hear too much Alto 2 and little Soprano 2.
haha i love the filipino accents
nice voice but the way they say "the battle of jericho" sounded so hard.
The dynamics of this performance is awesome (loved the high note, kick ass!), but for some reason....it didn't have that feeling (save the high note). But then again, when you aren't physically there to enjoy the performance, you kinda miss a wee bit of it.
omfg @_@ I like it xD
Bravo :) The alto ( sing bases) are strong...hardly to hear this kind of voice, a good one. Just that, I personally a little dislike the slanting back when the singers sing...especially when they reach the high notes :) No offence yea XD
pwede po ba makahingi ng scoresheet nito ,, ricko_13@yahoo.com
i can barely hear the basses.
I think the 2 sopranos should have sang the C at the same time cause the other one's entrance is kinda bad.
It's better if the Horn sound is justifeid by the tenors.
I think overall this is good, but the guys sound much too technical and lacking the hair to give this the soul it needs... this is especially evident at the beginning. :S
too much first soprano
great control of rhythm and dynamics though. what can i say, that's how asians do. (i'm asian; that wasn't racist)
