My first DayZ experience : I spawned near the beach and went north west. A bunch of zombies attacked me, I killed half of them and ran out of bullets. After that I saw a guy shooting zombies with his sniper (that guy was experienced and well equiped). I was bleeding and desperate for help. I ran to him. He shot me. Best experience ever.
iPodiMaster Yeah, this game is great, for making you lose 10 hours of scavenging time to some prick sat on a hilltop a mile away. Really feels worth the effort when the game makes you start from square one again!

Yes, thats the thing that lowers the number of daily players for this game. 1 bullet can kill all of your progress.
Something like that happened to me i started at the beach went in a warehouse a saw a guy then i said hi with my mic he had nothing like me but he walked up to me then punched me in the head once i went down 2 mins later i woke up. I was bleeding a lot like it was coming out of my chest a lot i guess he punched me or found a knife 1 min later i died he fucking took my t-shirt and pants.
iPodiMaster Never run toward a player with a gun in your hands (even if you have no ammo, the other guy can`t know this). Even the friendliest player will shoot you if you do this. Search for a zombie safe position, ask him in chat if he can help you and, most importantly, drop your gun. If he still kills you after all these steps, then he is just an asshole.
BuckshotY4nkee Stay away from people and bad loot zones (ex. elektro or cherno aka the ghettos) travel in forest pick loot from military bases house and apartments always be cautious and AVOID players. What you said 100% get you killed unless its like frankie or some shit.

as much as I love DayZ. This is a video from when the game was first released. Their has to be a signifcant low fps and lots of frame drop for this video to be accurate from that time period.

I swear they should introduce a karma system in DayZ, so KOS becomes a thing of the past. For example, everytime you kill a player, you lose karma, and more zombies spawn near you - your aim becomes worse etc.
no thats dumb. They just need to add more zombies in the game to where people will want to help each other to survive. The game will get better in time once its out of alpha but the game might be dead by then. only around 15k people play the game on steam now. (yes 15k is a lot) but when I used to play it their were about 35k people playing the game a day.

Good, but not very realistic, at all.
no, just add incentive for people to play in groups, make certain things like repairing and carrying engines or vehicle parts a 2 or 3 man job and add skills that people can chose to pursue in each life.
Like 1 player is a mechanic so he can repair a lot more things efficiently, other player is a medic so he can cure, perform blood transfusions and etc, other player is a marksman has very good eyesight increased zoom by 15% more than normal etc...
Or make the need for social interaction after a certain period of time or else you start gaining insanity where your character starts to scream or laugh suddenly, starts to shake or starts seeing things, the more isolated you are from social interactions the more insane you become.
Make sleeping a requirement to generate health, if you don't socialize with people it becomes more difficult or longer to fall asleep so when you wake up you aren't as rested - can't run as much, feel weaker(takes less punches or bullets to kill), dehydrated quicker etc.
Make bandit skins and hero skins like in origins with humanity points, there are many ways to decrease the KOS in day z SA.

Why try to feed 2 people when it's diffucult to get to a store or a house to search for food? 4 cans of food will last longer for 1 person. Well, then it won't work in a game that is supposed to have as much realism as you can without getting boring or too hard.

Everyone when they first start dayz is friendly. Back when i started the mod in 2012 i was friendly and so was around 70% of the people who played. I just didnt have it in me to ruin someones game by shooting on sight or betraying allies i had made. That all changed when i was betrayed by someone who gained my trust, from that point onwards i lost all sense of compassion towards other survivors. Its amazing what a game like dayz could do to you. Now i feel nothing if i kill an unarmed player or betray someone i have befriended. Now when i play dayz i live by these words "You Kill or You Die" - Philip Blake but everyone knows him as "The Governor".
It's sad because in DayZ, with every kill a bandit makes, he basically "converts" that person into playing like him. In the start there could have been 5% bandits, but that number grew and will probably continue to grow because each time a player is killed by a bandit they loose trust in other players, in turn causing them to become bandits themselves.
It changed who I trusted and how I act around ppl irl. Now I can tell who is lying and how to like do other stuff. I've also put my DayZ hiding behind tree fights into paintballing
there is hope frankie is our hope and we should follow his ways and make our own ways to follow as well rules need to be set in the community and bandits need to be shot on sight

Friendly!" then immediately opening fire, the dead guy that looks like he is alive with the animation but is lootable when you get close, body camping, holding people hostage, and immediate betrayal after you rescued someone from said situation, well done
I played dayz scavenged for hours found a pristien m4 found a boy running from cherno he only had a construction helmet I stopped him gave him chrunchy crisps (my fav) he said thank you so as I did the friendly dance (wiggle left and right) he pulled out a revolver of some sort and 1 tapped me in the head well basically after that I spawned close to cherno found a fire axe by a car went back and there was my body still with my m4 but my clothes were gone I hear a chrunch and the kid was there in the bush he said hi im friendly (not knowing im the guy he just killed I still disnt have the m4 it was on my body) I walked up with my fire axe on my back and asked " do you have any food im hungry" the kid walks up and put some " chrunchy crisps on the ground and backs up so I say hey there is nothing there he walks up an crouches and points at them I pull out my fire axe bash him on the head 4 times and he is litterly screaming so I go to my other body get the m4 and while he lay unconcios I get rope and tie him up I say when he is awake (at this point I took his revolver) and I say do you remember me he says no so I do the friendly dance pull the revolver and kill him please like and comment it took a long time to share this story with you

My first experience of DayZ:
I had been playing the game for about half an hour and found a building in the middle of nowhere with stairs that went up about 4 foot. So I walked up them, grabbed all the loot and walked back down. But, being the lazy sod that I am, I thought I would save a couple of milliseconds by missing the bottom stair and 'falling' half a foot from the second stair to the ground.
I ended up fracturing my leg. As the building was literally in a huge field of nothing, there was no chance of survival. So I logged out as I couldn't handle the inevitable.
The following day I thought I'd give it another go and ended up joining the same server. As soon as I join I'm getting mauled to death by a zombie. But what could I do? I had been playing for half an hour and the closest thing I had to a melee weapon was a god damn fire extinguisher. So I was in agony, lying on the floor, trying to kill a zombie by whacking it in the feet with my fire extinguisher.
Of course, I died.
But hey, it's not all bad, I spawned back and found some awesome loot in a building close by! ... But then I get killed by a bunch of coast campers.
DayZ - Still one of the best games I've ever played. 10/10

Pick up the standalone for DayZ NOW if you haven't already and are planning to do so. Game is in it's Alpha or Early Beta for $30 USD. It's set to double to $60 USD when the full game launches, however many years away that will be. Just some friendly advice, you fresh spawns you.

The game is pretty garbage compared to every single clone of it or game like it. 7 days to die, Rust, Nether, ISS/WarZ. The game holds no replay value after death unlike all 5 of those games...
