Pajka, KA bayonets, sharpening stones, M3S trucks? Sound familiar? They will do if you play DayZ. Have you ever seen them, or many of the other Dayz staples, in real life? Well, where I live it's like living in Chernarus on a daily basis - and many loot items, vehicles and terrain features are everyday staples out here. But each has its own little twist - to protect Bohemia Interactive from copyright claims, perhaps? Or just to add a bit of a fantasy twist to a dark, zombie-filled apocalyptic socialist wasteland?
Join me as I introduce you to some things you're used to seeing or dealing with in game, but in real life form.
Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions on what else you'd like to see from real world DayZ...

Someone in the bushes behind you
Have you moved from England or something ?
Would be a trip finding your own house in dayz
It’s actually insane how detailed dayz is, you don’t actually appreciate it until you see this video.
it's those little details which sets DayZ apart from all the other mass-produced survival games out there
start by looking close up on all items and you see its acctualy more detailed than most games. despite it beeing so old
One of the best games off all time
they should make houses different and detailed would be dope. Would be a huge difference immediately and so immersive
I second this notion.
even the ambient sound is the same jesus christ they did one fantastic job recreating the place.. I dont think a lot of people appreciate that
Sometimes playing GeoGuesser, I'd end up somewhere around there, and it is simply indistinguishable from dayZ.
you want to visit in the late autumn/fall then you get to hear the red deer stags baying like they do in DayZ. Now that's an eery sound which fills the valleys
it's a long way to get lost at :)
Ive seen someone do a comparison between in game location and irl location and omg i never expected the freaking TREE LINES to be as accurate as they were to their irl counterparts, legit blew my mind
@@CarpathianAdventurethey scared me at first!
He's a true fan/player. he knows his stuff. Great video.
4.5k hours.... Thanks!
@@CarpathianAdventuredamnnnn son! I was thinking I was expert with my 900 hours😂
Well he has a natural advantage at learning the map layout
I’m always checking those hunting stands, that tundra joke made me laugh. 😂
funny that i've never found a huge yellow dry sack in one in real life
Youre that geared solo who knows where the loot and bunkers are at,... Me: "Friendly!, friendly!"
Friendly friendly...with an axe running at me.... Oh i know what comes next^^
i'm that geared solo who gets shot from a mile away by some teenager using ESP
yeah, that always seems to happen - especially when drinking at a well
Wait a minute this looks authentic but would have easily experienced at least a meter of rain fall in the duration of this video.
Lmao
Thanks for the video, really enjoy seeing the unique realities the game was modeled from.
yeah, the rain and storms are getting a bit much in DayZ nowadays
Ive been played DayZ on and off since it was a mod. THIS was the video I always needed and wanted
you are definitely an OG Arma player then
@@CarpathianAdventure definitely was.
honestly dude your living the actual dream! what a tour n loved the dayz humor
thanks for that. Sometimes I need to remind myself of that fact and enjoy it for what it is
I just hope he doesn't shoot anyone coming screaming at him. Chances are it's not a zed...
@@cookiemonsterdayznot yet atleast
wow standing there in that open area watching the grass flow in the wind was truly beautiful
I play DayZ and live in Slovakia, everywhere I go I say to myself "man this is DayZ irl"😂
Btw that gas mask is from Czechoslovakia I have same one but green. That specific one is called VZ-60
it's a beautiful country and I love living here. Vzor 60 is for all the kit that was released - everything from sleeping bags to boots.
I've got this same feeling in Poland :)
My favourite Game gets real! Mindblowing! Great video, greets from 🇩🇪
put it on your list of places to visit :)
holy shit i grew up playing Arma 2 Dayz at its peak man.. those are times I wish I could go back...
Chernarus is such a familiar place in my mind despite never having been there.. this video is great thank you. Seeing those hills with those treelines at 10:30, wow.
You're a DayZ OG then!
Nice that you managed to show us that ruined sharpening stone before it despawned.
i hate it when they do that IRL lol
man you have to do more of these videos. this was awesome
More to come!
Great tour and video mate. Hope to see more . Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
thanks man. I need to do more bush videos again
So cool! You’re living in Chernarus! What a gorgeous area you live in!
it has its ups and downs but it is beautiful
Long time no see ! I spent many hours playing DayZ,
just hiking, hiding and hunting in the forests .
It was the first game I bought on pc.
But your real life version looks absolutely fantastic.
Thanks for sharing👍
Hi Rick. Let's hope real life doesn't imitate fiction....
@@CarpathianAdventure Yes, I totally agree with you. I see there are zombies already among us though.
All We can do is prepare for the worst then hope for the best. Good to see you resurface, I did wonder where you'd been. 👍
This video deserves way more views. You almost showed everything. Really well done and interesting. Would like to see military areas if possible next time!
thanks :) There's still so much more to show - although i don't think i'll be filming military areas LOL
He’ll be showing us what the police station looks like next if he tries to film military areas. Cool video! And you know the dog always wants to hang out 😂
Awesome to know they pretty much did a recreation of the food and everything from that area.
Thanks for showing all of that.
I have been playing dayZ since 2014 I feel like I could navigate the real life chernarus if I ever had to.
it is incredible how well they did it
one of the greatest videos ever we love dayz and chernarus
thank you! amazing comment
Really insightful! I've played DayZ since the mod around 2012, so a lot of the stuff featured in Chernarus are ingrained in my head. Thanks for the video :)
it's changed quite a bit since Arma days - but not always in a good way :)
i’ve been playing dayz for the past year now and mostly everyone i meet is always way older than me but i don’t mind they’re just like me and are actually funny men with some damn good dad jokes and stuff and give you a rlly good laugh some of my best memories on xbox have been with these older gentlemen i’ve met on day
gruff old geezers :)
Hi from Romanian Carpathians - welcome back . Interesting gear you shared and hope we see more of you again .
Hi Green Man. You could make the same video with basically the same things where you live too :)
@@CarpathianAdventure we still have what's called the "Russian Market" where old fashioned parts, tools etc can still be bought . I bought a scythe blade ( actually from the Ukraine) and have bought brake blocks and parts for my vintage bike from there. They are much better made than the Chinese stuff sold elsewhere. Chinese tat is prolific and sadly many old crafts have died out in this particular region now .
@@mhpupacios i also have a few Ukraninain made tools. Years back there were two choices at the ironmonger's - expensive German stuff which virtually noone bought, or Ukraine stuff.
Greetings from Florida, USA. Fascinating video. Absolutely beautiful countryside and having grown up in the country myself, I appreciate the views of the wildlife. Best regards sir.
i love the wildlife here although i've seen big changes in the last 20 years - it used to be really wild
This has a weird felling to it, seeing all of these items and places in real life, it fells like you have experienced them in real life, this is how realistic dayz truly is, making game items and places feel like real life !
it gives the game more depth!
I could just imagine stepping over those hills, and being confronted with and endless horizon of outer-map space. lol
yeah, i hate driving along and hitting the map barrier :)
So cool! You can tell the game creators have spent time there.
they came from the Czech Republic!
Played dayz all for nearly 10 years live in 🇬🇧 this video is amazing 😂
you're a DayZ OG!
Literally was watching this video while I was waiting in a server queue to play on Cherno. Great video looks exactly like the game to me . Living there of course I assume you see differences. Loved the items you showed at the beginning awesome collection!
thanks! there are obviously differences but some things are just the same
And some people think Dayz looks bad. Both the game and real life are beautiful.
i'm looking forward to DayZ 2.0 because the graphics should be even better
Wow, Beautiful land you get to enjoy! Long live DayZ
thank you! GG!
"Unfortunately I broke mine, these are easily breakable"
Ah now I see why the sharpening stones break so quick in-game :)
Relaxing voice and scenery. Thanks for this video! Truly remarkable the effort that the devs made here.
it's all mods :)
This place looks so peaceful. Those rolling hills and forests oh my god heaven on earth.
it's beautiful but i wouldn't call the forests peaceful :) Lots of big beasties
Absolutely brilliant seeing real footage, the M3S colours are exact, even spotted the double beige house!
I saw the deer and wanted to pull out my Tundra 😂
i know the feeling :)
Nice Video, must be amazing living in DayZ! **Subscribed** (Big-Mac)
it has its pros and cons :)
This is incredible, everything looks just like on DayZ! Thanks Brother!
thanks. It's a stunning place to live
Hello. Nice video. I literally live in Chernarus in Svetlojarsk :D That map feels like home
To je Ústí, nebo které je to přesně město?
@@Ballanar1 Svetlojarsk je Děčín, Ústí je Cherno, Povrly jsou Elektrozavodsk
it's a really cool area. I live East of Banov :)
@@CarpathianAdventure very nice, i havent tried Banov yet
Amazing thanks for showing us around! So cool!
it's a cool place, thanks :)
Such a beautiful area! Love the artifact show and tell!
thanks!
11:53 a freshie rolling up in his Ada 4x4.
a freshie after 2 days of finding the parts to get the Ada working...
😂
Spark plug stealing, even worse than Genocide.
never thought i would see this tour of a IRL Dayz map 😱
glad you liked it :)
Can't believe the algorithm showed me this video just now, it's awesome, beautiful place.
glad you enjoyed it!
That was cool. Thank you for posting!
thanks :)
Awesome vid dude , all we need now is a DayZ film set on location. Thank you for sharing.
good to see you're still alive out there Jazz!
Loved this. I'm 9 months late, but great video man
loading screen time can really be a drag...
mate, that was wonderful.
Beautiful.
Thank you for sharing.
thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
majka in southern europe is another word for Mom & there the majka or pasteta is a chicken spread. This was really awesome to see! Thank you for this video!
i know. South slavic languages have similar words but with different meaning to west slavic - here it means Maria. Dobar dan!
12:56 yellow house jumpscare. It’s literally crazy how similar it is I almost wonder if they use map scans
i've often wondered how they did it. Maybe straight from Google Street View and then mapped?
I’m going to need more DayZ videos from you.
any excuse to play, I say!
this was really cool, thanks for sharing!
thank you!
Beautiful location. Those bayonets are awesome. Lots of wild food around you. 🤙👌
the locals forage a lot as well - especially wild mushrooms, berries and nettles
This is awesome, love to see this. Might not be possible but would love to see this with livonia as well.
according to Bohemia - Livonia is based on real-life data from Czech Republic; Livonia represents the North-East part of Chřiby mountains, South of the city of Kroměřiž
DayZ is my favorite game! I love it! Thank you!
keep on playing!
I was expecting miika to be a jelly or a sweet food. Nope, its a meat that you spead on bread
it's basically a cheap pate
Majka is pate made with liver and meat. This pâté has several variants, such as: goose, chicken and pork. She was always excellent. Májka, bread, finely chopped onion with tomatoes. Unfortunately, Májka is no longer like it was in the old days and all the meat is already mechanically separated, so Májka contains a lot of micro bones. Hamé as a brand already ranks as a second-rate brand. Czechs are already avoiding this brand.
wow, thanks for the information! I've heard that it's nothing like it used to be and I'd guessed it's because it has become more industrial
Incredible place! More beautiful than in day-z! They made a wonderful work building in the game the atmosphere of this place!
one thing the game misses is seasons as each is completely unique out here
Interesting video! The hunting stand joke actually had me laughing irl 😂 true DayZ player
it's more usual to find wasp nests in them than dry bags....
Thank you for the content for the DayZ nerds! Very well presented: articulative and to-the-point. Thanks!
thank you! Shame about the wind though, but that's almost constant out here
I must admit it is absolutely awesome to see the vehicles I see in game in the real world.
trust me, i rubber neck when i go past them IRL :)
We are lucky Smoke didnt show up, very informative content! 😆
Smokey is terrifying!
Beautiful place! Thanks for sharing!
it's stunning and still pretty wild
I just miss one thing .... the zombies hahaha . I love your video and this 98% true DayZ atmo ❤
i'd need to film in Philadelphia for that :)
Thank you so much for sharing this, so fascinating to see. I was half expecting a screaming infected to leap out at you! Cheers.
i get that feeling often :)
I want to see the real zombies 😂. Thank you for showing us the real Dayz props. Next, the big guns!
i wanted to do a gun one but my channel would just get messed by YT
as someone from southern california who would likely otherwise NEVER see these things, this was really cool. thank you for taking the time to make this video, it might have been easy to think this stuff is common place, but it's awesome you understand we've never seen them outside of the game. I took a vacation to prague in 2011, but never went out of the city. It was absolutely amazing but of course this was before DayZ... otherwise I would have spent lots of time out there. Děkuji!!
thanks man. At least you travelled and saw some of the world. I wish more people would
This was great, thank you! Good vibes.
thanks! Hopefully more good vibes to come!
It’s awesome you actually know about DayZ too
i read about it on the back of a cereal box :)
You should make more videos about dayz. Clearly lots of people ready to watch this stuff it’s interesting
dayz cross overs into IRL, perhaps?
Its amazing how standardized everything is. It would have been nice to have seen the devs include a bit more building variety, especially domiciles.
you get more variety on some of the modded maps
This is so incredible to see as an American thank you so much for sharing!
thank you!
great video thanks for sharing! what a place to live so very cherno
in more ways than you can imagine :)
I'm always amazed by the beautiful countryside of dayz and the old buildings and cars but you get to see it in real life every day must be amazing to live there so quiet and peaceful
it is cool. I'm lucky to live where I do. It's not always easy though :)
Brilliant. And educational !
Maybe you can make a video where you get to ride in each of the vehicles from DayZ ? And some of the RusForma vics too.
i'd have to sneak into a farm at night and do it :)
So cool to see this stuff come to life
that's what Doctor Frankenstein said... :)
This was the coolest video I have seen in a long time. I would love to see more from you Good Sir
thank you! That means a lot
Thank you so much for sharing. cool to see in real life.
it's really cool :)
I love the game Day Z but i have to say after watching your video and as a country boy from the usa i think i would fall in love with the land around there. It would be a wonderful place to vist and to hunt
it's a beautiful country, but so is the USA
this was a pleasure to watch, thanks!
thank you!
Thanks for sharing! Great vid. 👍As a long time player of DayZ, I'd love to see and hear more. Cheers
thanks. Maybe i'll make a follow up vid at some point
This is crazy uncanny. I have new respect for Bohemia devs and a ton of respect for this host/gamer. Thanks for sharing this with us! My mind is blown.
Bohemis might not listen to player requests but they definitely pay attention to details
Great video mate! And great message at the end! A lot of people are falling for these dayz!
Be Free!
Pekne…, pekna krajna ja som z Piestan, milujem dayz, je to prijemne vidiet nasu krajnu a predmety v hre.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I hope I can visit this place one day because it's really beautiful.
always aim to travel!
Thanks for this, man! This was really cool to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video man I really enjoyed that. I have a scythe and sharpening stone like this also I live in Missouri and use it in the tall grass in my back yard bc I enjoy it.❤
me too, man! There's something ancient in doing it
Thanks for posting this! Adds to the background depth of DayZ!
it gives it a little more realism
IT WILL BE DOPE TO SEE THOSE FIELD BUNKERS
which ones?
nice to see you again... fun fact... etymology of this particular majka is from hungarian majkrem - which means liver cream
where "krem" would be a remnant from the austrian era and they in turn got the word from french "créme"? very interesting
tell that to the locals :) I can see you're right but they prefer their own meaning... Going back even further, proto indo european etymology is "Hyék"
@@motv1nd193 yes, it seems so
@@CarpathianAdventure I am pretty sure I already replied to you, but it just disappeared

Hi from America!Dude thank you for that video I love dayz! It was awesome to see how close to life that game is. And we know that game is close as you get to life for a video game. Greatest game I play
it's amazing how realistic it is. Can't wait to see DayZ 2.0
What an awesome video! Can't believe YT only just recommended this to me... Love seeing the irl equivalents to the in game stuff!
hopefully there's more to come...
Super tour!!!! pls more of the buildings
any buildings in particular you'd like to see?
@@CarpathianAdventure the churches and the big barn. How many churches are there? Are they all that small?
as someone with almost 1000 hours into DayZ, this is an extremely cool video. It's amazing to see how well this was replicated into the game down to even the ambience and greenery.
i can't wait to see how much better DayZ 2.0 will make it look
ur awsome dude thanks for the tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
