As soon as you said put a card in the mailbox, I flinched. Oddly enough; I can walk onto someone’s property and put a flyer or card in their door, but it is definitely illegal to put something in their mailbox. Go figure.

Thank u very helpful me and some of my friends have started several small neighborhood businesses and we’re making our way into power washing. Since we are on such a small scale our work is talked about amongst our neighbors so we have to make sure we’re always doing a good job. Any advice for removing embedded oil stains in the concrete driveway?
+Matthew Young A good degreaser, let it sit, agitate if necessary repeat as needed. However, concrete is so porous that oil dives in deep and stains. I will never guarantee that we can completely remove oil from concrete for that reason, managing customer expectations is essential when dealing with things like this.

Can you do a video explaining how you pressure wash using a water tank, most tanks are 55 gallons but to my understanding a soft washer ( comet p40 ) puts out about 11 gallons a minute. I’m missing how it’s done, Do you have customers hose constantly running in the tank? Thanks

I think as a beginner I am going to check out your course. And watching how you clean roofs, I learned something, and also got some situational awareness as far of over spray.
With the pump dying got a part ordered. Had to do it the old fashioned way. Got lines, not happy. But also rust, watching another movie see there rust treatment 😁😌

get a 4 gpm minimum dont get that 2.8 its not worth it borrow some money and pay the person back after your first job.
In New York do to the clean water act, we can't use chemicals such as bleach or other potentially harmful chemicals. What would you suggest we use?
I am not sure, there are some citrus base cleaners and the greasers a do a decent job, I would contact a local supplier, they would have a better idea since they have to deal with that on the regular.

Awesome video. Have a question and I know your a busy man. I started a few months ago and done several jobs with great customer satisfaction. Gave a estimate today on a 2 story log cabin and their log car port. Complete exterior wash on house, car port and ceiling on the car port. I live in the blue ridge mountains of Georgia. My estimate was $400 even because I see people are doing things here just to earn a dollar. My offer was declined. It's so frustrating when I know what I can do and how long it will take, but you got people who will do it for $200. Any advise?

I run into the same thing in my primary business. Detailing and paint correction. Guys will offer full paint corrections and coatings for $500. Where I'm $1000+ because that's what it takes to do it right. I won't skip steps or cut corners or use cheaper materials, I use the best.
Usually people can only get away with cut rate work for so long, eventually it will catch up with them. Either they work too hard for not enough money and burn out, or they destroy their reputation and the phone stops ringing.
Keep doing things the right way and building your reputation, it will eventually pay off. Also don't downplay or apologize for charging more, *lead* with it. You don't have to trash the competition directly, but definitely explain and highlight why you're different, why you charge more and why you're worth what you charge. I always say right from the start, I'm not the cheap guy, I'm the high end guy. That's how I market myself, it's the way I work, and that's the client base I want to serve. I don't want to waste time trying to sell people who are looking for the cheapest possible work and are just going to low ball me anyway. Many years later, the vast majority of my business is now returning and referral based.

+Jon Milbourn Water reclamation is required in some municipalities. That is not something that we have to deal with. By the time the SH reaches the ground, it’s diluted to a point of being a non-caustic, mostly just very liberal states require it
The only way you can do it in Germany, would be pressure washing, there are no chemicals allowed. Heck, you cant even wash your own car in your driveway, only at professional car wash stations equipped with special water catch and filtering systems.

Found myself out of work after letting my inability to keep my opinions to myself when faced with certain....shortcomings within an organization. No matter how good a paycheck is, I still just can't bite my tongue or kiss anyone's ass. Anyway..i found myself suddenly without employment in my early days not long out of college. I borrowed a pressure washer, bought some supplies and started sticking flyers everywhere. Sometimes wish I'd stayed on that path.

Great vid Mike as always! Just watch out placing mailers in or on mailboxes, its a federal crime. Ridiculous but the penaly is up to $5,000 per occurrence to place things in or on the mailbox. The front door is not regulated though :)

I'm sure there is a driveway cleaning video on the channel - post treatment is just the same as pre treating - we use our house wash mix through a down stream injector to apply

If you don't get a clean rinse then it just isn't clean! It is that simple. If you are a professional, grade your own work; Would you be happy paying for the kind of job you just did? Even better if there is someone else on the truck have them grade it as well. Better to go redo right then to have a call back to redo later.

When i had a lawncare business, i was reported to the police for putting business cards in mailboxes, in which they contacted me and stated that it was a "Federal offense" because only federal workers (Mailmen) should be putting things in mailboxes. It's stupid, but its just food for thought for everyone that reads this.

Around the 4:30 mark he said to leave a post card or business card in the neighbor mail boxes. This is illegal, you can't legally use a mail box this way you must mail with postage those post card and business cards.

Correct- pre treating with 6% would be overkill and definitely not needed. Keep up the cool pressure washing raps😂
@@AllAboutPressureWashing 12% would be overkill. 6% actually makes the difference compared to the 1.5% your downstreamer is putting out. There are pros and cons to both methods. SH is $2 a gallon in my area so I trade a few dollars for time saved, and a better clean. Have you used 6% to pre treat before?
The higher the concentration the better the job but we don’t typically pull out the Softwash system to do concrete (unless there is no grass or vegetation anywhere around. But yes, 6% can almost clean with no surface cleaning. Great point.
@@AllAboutPressureWashing Realistcally a 4% is strong enough, and pre-wetting the grass, "blading" (aiming the Wand towards the driveway away from the grass edge, and watching where it will run off will mitigate and most times prevent burning of the landscaping entirely. I like to tag the hard organic stains, green spots the size of a quarter because those $%&@ers can take 20 seconds each with the tight fan (J-Rod) otherwise.
I try to instill that in all of my employees. Do it right the first time.

Couple things. Putting SH down on driveways is great but according to the EPA, it’s against the law for any chemicals to go into storm drains. So are you catching the contaminated water or are you just letting it run into the street anyways.
Secondly, it’s also against the law to leave postcards in a US Mailbox if it was not directly delivered by the USPS.
Leaving any advertisements in a mailbox is a federal offense bruh....

Did that biz for 30 yrs. Done ! We invented the floor sweeper. Back in the 90s. With a Gun for corners no need to use a separate gun. So many Scammers here in California. I was the Only EPA Compliant Biz in Cali . County make any $. Unless I was under the Radar. Then I moved into Fleet truck washing .BAM ! I went from struggling biz to a Booming Biz @$80.000 a month !

Are you in Canada? Because in the US it is illegal to insert fliers inside a USPS mail box. It is even illegal to hang a flier from the outside of the mailbox.
