The thing is everyone’s all for it but it hasn’t been done. I can see why Insulate Britain wants to bring the issue to the public’s attention because nothing’s being done, however I don’t think blocking the motorways is the best way to do it.

There's been grants for years, decades even. I had a grant to purchase the materials in my house back in the 80s and fitted the first layer myself. It was subsequently topped up and cavity wall insulation added a few years down the line with another grant. You just have to apply - there's no reason for not doing it, short of, as another commenter says, being too lazy to apply and wanting it done for you.

Insulating homes will not save anybody any money at all!
It will help the environment yes. But as soon as we use less energy, the energy suppliers will raise their prices.
This happens all the time. We went from incandescent bulbs to fluorescent. Electric price bumped up to make up the loss. We went from fluorescent to LED, and again electric price bumped up.

Why do these selfish hypocritical people actually even think it is the government (AKA Taxpayers) role to fund the insulation of everyone's home, regardless of individual means? They do have grant schemes to assist with insulation for those that meet the criteria, and within their annual budget, and I took advantage of such a scheme when I retired and now reap the cost benefits, but if I am honest, then I can say that I could have afforded the full cost myself at the expense of in my case travel. There are no magic money trees, government must prioritise spending of taxpayers money, and paying for home insulation for people able to afford the costs themselves, is not as important has Social care and health and education services.
