  • Nowhere To Hide, a new G&G original that hasn't been to the studio yet! Now that the new CD, "Oleander Road" is "in the can" and nearly ready to release (artwork), we have started writing again.... John & Bill get together for 5-6 hours most weeks to snack, practice originals, maybe WRITE originals, and maybe learn a cover or two. Often we decide to shoot a quick "rough" video for posterity! Look for the studio version of this one in the "music videos" section here, or on pretty much all streaming platforms!
John Gates - Taylor 514 CE, guitar and harmony vocals
Bill Goodell - Guild JF30 Jumbo 12 (Marilyn) guitar and lead vocals
Written and Arranged by Gates & Goodell
I keep thinkin' I'm leaving... oh, I've done it before.
Always just packing or planning, yeah I can't seem to keep my feet out of that door.
You keep saying I'm dreaming, always want something more.
But I think I'm scared of what's coming, so I won't watch another love crash to the floor.
But you can't run away from your heart, It keeps beating and breaking inside.
Someday you'll wake up and leave all the scheming behind...
No you can't run away from your heart, all the gimics and games you can try
When you run out of whiskey you'll see how the pain made you blind...
... you've got nowhere to hide.
How many times have I thrown it away, without knowing I had it at all?
I was fooling my self, just keep leaving it all on the shelf...
But you can't run away from your heart, It keeps beating and breaking inside.
Someday you'll wake up and leave all the scheming behind...
No you can't run away from your heart, all the gimics and games you can try
When you run out of whiskey you'll see how the pain made you blind...
Yes I can't run away from my heart, It's just beating and breaking my mind.
Come help me wake up and leave all my demons behind...
    Give me someplace to hide!
    Give me someplace to hide...
