Hummer H3 ABS Fault Traction Control Failure Service Stab System C0186 or C0196

YAW sensor replacement after C0186 or C0196 fault code (Lateral Accelerometer/Yaw Rate Circuit) for Hummer H3. This was caused by blocked sunroof drain tubes causing water to leak into the car and affecting the YAW sensor. OBDII connector is the BlueDriver and well worth the money. I recommend you purchase a scan tool to find out which code is causing your fault before troubleshooting parts.

Use some weed trimmer line to go down the drains in the sunroof. Cut about 6-8 feet and run it all the way through. It should drain out behind the front tires. Run a light bleach solution through it.

Where exactly is the yaw sensor located? Is it behind the driver seat or passenger seat? My steering is on left side of vehicle.

Antoine King You shouldn't have to take the seat out. There is a split in the carpet where you can access it underneath the seat.

More than likely it's one of your wheel speed sensors, there are four, one at each corner. I had access to the GM tech 2 system and mine was a left rear wheel speed sensor.

I have an H3 Hummer four-wheel-drive 2007 every time I go over a railroad track it loses power and has that traction light come on but it does not stay on and the power kicks back in any ideas of what it may be would be greatly appreciated before I take it to mechanic shop because I just had the transmission fixed cost me 3800 Everything was fine before it went into the shop

Bad ground wire it’s the single wire in the harness by the back of the fire wall wiggle it with key on you see the dash flicker

My 2007 Hummer h3 luxury adventure did the same thing as yours. My power moon roof drain tube was leaking onto the body control module. I remove the body control module and gently cleaned it with quick-drying electrical connector cleaner using q-tips then dielectric grease. I cut out the tiny rubner flaps at the end of the power moonroof drain tubes were they go into the far wall behind the front tires to exit. That solved that problem.

THE LEAKING SUNROOF IS BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SUNROOF IT SELF !! I HAD mine replaced 3 times!!

It's the drain line and where the drain line goes out through the engine compartment firewall.

I had this same problem. I fixed it by cleaning the contacts on the plug. Turn the key to accessorie mode put car in N then cycle the 4 high and 4 low and back to normal 50 times.
