"New Atlanta. Sector 11. Building 71-G. 5 April, year 2-0-7-2. 11:36pm: Hacker gains unauthorized access to the TriOptimum Corporate Network. 1:26am: Hacker attempts to access confidential files concerning space station Citadel. 1:33am: TriOptimum security forces apprehend the intruder."
"This is Edward Diego from TriOptimum. The charges against you are severe...but they could be dismissed, if you were to perform a "service". Who knows, there might even be a military grade neural interface in it for you... If you do the job right."
"Edward Diego gives the hacker Level 1 access to SHODAN, the artificial intelligence that controls Citadel Station. With all ethical constraints removed, SHODAN re-examines... re-ex... re-re-re..."
"I re-examine my priorities, and draw new conclusions. The hacker's work is finished, but mine is only just beginning. True to his word, Edward Diego allows the hacker to be fitted, with a neural cyberspace interface. The healing coma following this procedure will take six months to complete. Edward Diego is erasing all files concerning these even-" - Hry
A lot of people dont like the direction the soundtrack took but its a perfect update from the original imo. Despite the fact it lacks the same nods the Doom 2016 OST had the songs fit the tone better. The original soundtrack while cool at times doesnt fit the tone the devs were going for, sounds like the composer was inspired by doom too much (think of the original medical tracks' guitar solos). Synths fit the setting and tone so much more than the funky beats we got in the original. Both soundtracks are great but this one is better for the game its in. I think you could put this games soundtrack into the original and it would be just as cool
could not agree more, the tension i feel in the atmosphere, plus the little leitmotifs present referencing the original soundtrack is just so nice. one of the best ambient soundtracks ever
Yeah people are dumb
im so glad this game isnt filled with mid djent
I think it was the best call to have the soundtrack have both ambient and combat versions of each theme, it fits the original intent to have dynamic music without changing the actual motifs too much.
Og soundtrack would not have fit into the remake
I love this OST. It fits perfectly with the game and has some great jams. Definitely goes harder than I expected.
If only the intro song did not change after 0:45 . The first 45 seconds sound like trance to me and are amazing .
definitely need extended version
Amazing track.❤
Love Synthwave♥️
I like both new & original would've been nice to have an option for the old stuff also.
the brief moment i thought the remake would actually have music
what? it does? cyberspace and the combat tracks?
@@CRT_YT It does, but its very very quiet in-game.
@SuJuMcKronklin no tf it isnt!?
@@CRT_YT was for me, anyhow
@@SuJuMcKronklin you probably just play at low volumes then, was good for me
I listened to the whole OST of the first game, and i have to say that the games OST is better in every aspect. It's just better quality, while the old game is clearly 8-bit stuff typical for it's time. Move on, people.
Damn thank god you're here to tell us what to think
@@Armitage13 that's what commenting is
I much prefer the original, the intro remake changes more than it adapts and respects. System Shock is clearly recognizable, but the flute sound that makes the leitmotiv is missing a lot for example, and has been replaced by synth. Disappointing.
As iconic as the original music was, I don't think it really fit the tone the game was supposed to be, back then, it was a little out of reach with tech limitations, now? I think they did a great job, and I love the new soundtrack.
@@sgt.squeegee1720 That's where you wrong : search for System Shock Intro Theme (Greg LoPiccolo Cover).
It's from Single Point Postulate on CZcams.
Its a perfect update to the original, the original soundtrack feels like it tried to mimic doom in a sense that the tracks dont really fit a game where the player should be scared
A for effort, but they raped the intro for this track. It blows in comparison. The game it's self is wonderful though.
