    I had no problem with the site pusher. And yes the site is extremely tight. Just take your time and let your hands rest. CZ 97 does not have the set screw either so dont worry.

    Funny I have the same sight pushe7r and firearm. What is the make, model of the rear sight you use for your 97B? I need it for mine. Nice video.

      i went to cz customs. the fixed rear sight for cz75 competition ( i like having rectangular sights rather than trapezoid or at least have a wider horizontal edge). there also a tactical version which has trapezoidal shape for the cz 75. both supposedly will work with the 97bs factory front sight. if you put these rear sights on a cz 75 you'll also need to change the front sight height.
      note they have the same sights for the shadow , that is not it. just look at the description.
      it was a toss up. i was going to order from cajun gun works the fixed rear sight for the cz 75 that again doesn't require fron sight replacment( this still had a longer horizontal edge) but i was ordering some replacement firing pin retainers as well but cajun gun works didnt offer the 3 mm punch in their site so i went with cz customs. if amazon carried that punch for the same price with free shipping, i may have gone with the sight from CGW as their pins were redesigned.
      btw, i wouldn't sand the bottom of the rear sight. i think it would have gone in without issues if i tried it. i only used 1000 grit sandpaper so i don't think i took off much more than the finish but i could see light at the bottom of the sight installed.
      i wish i bought that sight pusher instead of messing up the slide on my cz pcr.

    A word of advice to all who may not know - DO NOT USE THIS SIGHT PUSHER. I have 30 years of firearms experience. I have used many sight pushers and without this one being properly shimmed above between the block and frame, it will rock back and forth, changing the angle. If you want a good way to mar your slide despite your alignment, this is the way to do it.

    • @seantu1496
      @seantu1496 Před 3 lety +2

      Bought one and returned it. I noticed what you mentioned and taped up the slide, but the second I started pushing on the sight everything started shifting. This of course was after having to go over every screw on the thing to tighten them up. Any recommendation on which tool to look at next?

    • @badcallsign4204
      @badcallsign4204 Před 3 lety

      @@seantu1496 Metprolight makes a very good sight pusher, but the price is downright indecent. They go for $649.95 on Hkparts.net. If you change out a lot of sights on a regular basis, that would be my choice. If not, sending your slide to the firearm manufacturers service department after contacting them is the way to go for a small fee and fast turn-around. A local gunsmith for a small fee would be my second recommended option.

    • @badcallsign4204
      @badcallsign4204 Před 3 lety

      @@seantu1496 I forgot to mention, I did cut a shim from an old plastic dvd case and cut a slot for the vertical threads to prevent it from shifting. I placed it between the block and the frame. That kept the block from creeping to an angle when force is applied. A bit crude, but it worked. They should have made the block flush against the pusher frame to begin with.

    • @Random-ld6wg
      @Random-ld6wg  Před 3 lety +1

      it should without a problem. I would look at any marks on the rear sight to indicate how it was pushed in instead of relying on conventional wisdom as to how certain gun manufacturers always go left to right or vice versa. if no marks then research what the conventional wisdom may be. the plastic inserts that are angled fit well with the cz 75/97slide not so much with the shadow 2.

    • @ronmitchell859
      @ronmitchell859 Před 3 lety

      @@Random-ld6wg Ya, I don't find any marks on the factory sight, and the CZ page doesn't even mention direction. I had found only opposing opinions on CZcams videos - several saying left to right and and several saying the opposite..

      @@ronmitchell859 I looked at the stock sight on my sp01 . there's a mark on the right side of the rear sight(looking at it from the rear of course) indicating that the sight was pushed from left side going to the right. the old sight from my 97b also had marks on the right side so again left to right. So I would try pushing it out from right going to the left. my 85 has the sights centered without marks and the pcr may have been also initially inserted left going to right, although i ended up punching that out right to left( didn't look for the marks).

      i would think so. it's a generic sight pusher. the plastic inserts though don't have the severe angle that is more apparent in the shadow 2 slide. sorry i am not in the mood to get the sight pusher from the cold garage to test the fit on the shadow 2 slide. i like the rear sight on the shadow 2 . why were you planning on replacing it?

    You said the other site was loose that you wanted to remove it can't be loose unless the set screw isn't adjusted that's what holds it in not just the dove tail

    • @Random-ld6wg
      @Random-ld6wg  Před 10 měsíci

      the cz97b has the typical cz75 dovetailed rear sight that doesn't have a set screw. the CZ 75 PCR original fixed sight has a set screw same as the original adjustable sights on the cz85 and shadow 2 and the fixed sights on the cz p10 series. those are the czs i have. as mentioned, the typical cz75 rear sight doesn't have set screws.

      @@happynurse8706 a lot of sights don't have set screws many 1911s, the night sights that came with the cz sp01. the set screw is a good "crutch" in the fitting process as you don't have to make the fit as snug and then rely on the set screw. so probably takes more craftsmanship to properly fit a sight without a set screw over one that doesn't. i prefer one with a set screw. always a good idea to blue loctite it in. one gun after it's 3rd range outing had one nearly completely backed out and was about to fall off. i recentered the sight with my fingers and then tightened it( perfect windage when tested) upon going home i put blue loctite and hasn't budged since.

    • @Random-ld6wg

      for $50 I don't think it's expensive. considering the local gunsmith charges $25 per sight change. @@kimmorrison9169 with respect "expensive and inexpensive" are subjective like perspective. Imo $50 in the gun world is not expensive. While you might think so, I'm looking at at $150 tool for a single job 😅. I'm sure I'll use it down the road, but I like to do research and buy the things I like...sadly I tend to like the best things...🤷‍♂️ whats funny is people will say $50 is too much for "something" but spend $5 a day on starbuck, smokes or other things they like.
