Thanks to 6 sigma for letting a woman direct the show. We need more women directors. In Ptv Era there were many young women directors. We have regressed as a society and it reflects on drama industry too.

I can’t imagine a drama like tanhaiyan being made now without people saying they are promoting westernised values. It was two strong women standing on their feet doing something for themselves in a man’s world.
We also have to bring cousin marriages to make romance acceptable on screen, whereas in dhoop kinare none of them were cousins but were interested in each other. Sad how dire the state of our tv and mindset is now. How could we have progressive storylines back in 80s even during the era of where everything was getting banned under Zia and with all the supposed freedom we have now they still can’t make a good drama without regressive plot lines and stories and is always backlash to something that’s a bit difference like Ghissi received a lot of backlash for heroine

@@chy9061 We have more freedom of expression today? My dear , the fact is the opposite. We were far more expressive and progressive than what we are today.
I agree that we do not have the writers of the calibre of Ashfaq Ahmed, Bano Qudsia, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Mano Bhai, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi Atta ul haq Qasmi, the list goes on. Not only has the standard of urdu literature deteriorated, the society as a whole has degenerated. All the above mentioned were philosophers, who wrote thought provoking drama, they raised questions for the society to ponder on. All these had progressive mentality and there was freedom of expression. Similar is the case with Haseena Moin, who had a different genre, not so philosopherical but very progressive. The society, in general at that time was far more progressive, tolerant and modern. They accepted diversity in views. Gradually and deliberately, religious extremism, intolerance, bigotry was incalcated in the society. People were punished for asking questions, speaking out the truth, to fight for their rights. Society was gradually turned into zombies through censorship. Watch Sach Gup, of 70's, even fifty fifty. The comedy was not meaningless, it was a satire. You could hit on the ruling the powerful. You could wear sleeveless on TV. Our moms and grand moms wore sleeveless normally ,out on the streets and bazaars and no one would harass them or call them feminists or liberals or anti Islam. There was tolerance. Is the society today ready to forgive, ready to understand the other persons views No, they have been mentally trained to attack, and fight amongst themselves, instead of fighting together for their rights against tyranny, against the powerful. We are ready to kill for a non issue but would never support another for a cause. Why do you think Haseena Moin stopped writing? Her women were not only independent and empowered, they were head strong opinionated, at times rebels, who could go against the norms. In short they were modern women, not dari sami, dupatta clad, when going to a college. Watch her early dramas, Shezori, unkahi. People do not accept or consider such women as good, today. A dupatta less girl is automatically taken as a bad girl. The heroine, the good girl covers her head while going to college, working even if she is shown as a strong girl. ZGH, HKS, the last marwa hockney drama, all had strong women , but also were shown as dupatta clad to be made acceptable. Haseena Moin drama heroine was like Insha of Raqeeb se, someone not bothered about others views. How many watched it. So it's the society as a whole that has changed and writers are part of the society. The timid, submissive girl is the good girl today, the moder girl invites harassment, rape. This is the mentality today. Similarly, questioning the powerful , speaking against tyranny is considered anti national and anti religion. No dramas can have topics, like land mafia, censorship of media, a rapist religious scholar, a corrupt minister, army officer. The writer would go missing, would be attacked , threatened. Dramas were made on these topics, comedy was based on these in the era of good writers because there was freedom of expression. What is allowed today is family, intrigues, seedi saadi aurat, do shaadian. No will object to them , so these are being made .

@@mahnoorqureshi3281 yeah I agree you. I personally don’t have issue with them showing duputta clad heroines, as long as they show them to as strong women not crying and scared of everything and all they receive is zulm and have no guts to speak up, but I didn’t find Sabaat, YKS or ZGH heroines are very strong at all but I can see your point about they have to make such a woman acceptable. If she was good and strong woman but showed in a modern look people wouldn’t accept it as much. Our people found anmol in Dillagi and samiya in ghissi as unacceptable yet they were in desi clothing and anmol wore duputta too. I was watching parchaiyan a 1970s drama and saira kazmi was wearing western clothing in it and very opinionated, she wasn’t dari saimi, she was very well spoken etc and it’s strange how people loved her but hate our current actresses for the same thing.

@@chy9061 Religion and patriotism is exploited and sold to gain power and to fool the the public. Not Zia, it was the liberal president Musharraf that said that women get themselves raped to seek asylum abroad. The former Playboy PM says men are tempted by women wearing less clothes, since men are not robots. My question: I am also not a robot. When I see the luxurious lifestyle of the PM , in his 300 kanal bani gala mansion, I get tempted to kill them and take over the mention. I would be be justified to do that, na since I am not a robot?
We are going towards regression with time , we were tolerant and progressive in the last century. It’s basically the hypocrisy and power struggle that is to be blamed from the top tricking down into the society.

Your critical analysis is truly like from the horses mouth...
I wonder why all r worried n concerned about the drama proceeding into the second generation ... is it only because of a newcomer or they feel the couple of Affan n Durefishan cannot carry the same aura as Sarmad n Shaista or the next generation does not have the child trauma effect so it would not continue the aura built up...
I personally believe the story is strong n will keep hooked
Affan n Durefishan are professional n talented actors n will maintain the charm ahead ... inshallah gaining much more GRP's n TRP's for the channel n the production house ......

Sorry to say Marina Ji, Asim’s character is not cute or comical, or at least that’s not how it was pulled off on the screen. This character is definitely not light. It portrayed a selfish person who turned out to be a family breaker.

Awesome & fantastic, loved the idea of visiting the popular and trending drama sets. This should be done once in a while on the current talked and famed drama sets. It was nice & interesting to see everyone and all the trailer interviews.
Looking forward to solo interviews of the artists.
Yet another interesting segment. Kudos to Team Something Haute, Aamna Ji & Hassan Ji 👍🙏❤️😍

Hi guys! This was a really good show with a little insight from everyone! I just wanted to express my opinion on why negative characters are more attractive.
I feel, a negative character exudes confidence, a go getter kinda attitude and somebody who will go to any lengths without caring for consequences.
The negative actions are not what is attractive but the attitude of the person per se. not every negative character is appealing example Joey mama from dar si jaati hai silla but when you have a man who is confident in himself , his strength and passion is what is attractive. example many of feroz’s characters, danish’s character in deewangi. They were arrogant, wanted something because they were passionate about it without caring for right or wrong.
Our nice guys are shown to be too nice and meek which people interpret it as weakness.
Humayun Saeed in Dillagi is more attractive than as Danish in meray pass tum ho. So if you show a good guy, who is confident, shows strength and is sauve, he’s a more attractive character!
That’s my take, would love feedback on it 😊

جب بھی زندگی کو اس کے اصل رنگ میں پیش کیا جائے گا تو وہ ایک کامیاب تمثیل ہو گی۔
I have not expected Shaista Lodhi will perform such an excellent character 👏. I live abroad and don't watch regularly so it is my first time watching Sarmad with his calmness in the role he reminded me of late Mohammed Shafi. Sarmad has done excellent performance.
All of us living abroad might have story of our own. All and above big koodoos🙏 to the whole team. There were few sceen were very close to my life and were very emotional.
