2023 here fucking 15 years later and I’m here to say to this dear CZcamsr if your still alive or at least well, thank you for making this channel you inspired many people to listen to songs no other platform has been able to remember. You don’t know this yet but this channel alone is the last true memory of black people before they turn completely dark
First heard this on the radio on a British Airways flight to Barbados, a while ago now. Still sounds just as good today as it did when it first came out.
I first came across this wonderful semi instrumental on Norman Jay's original Musiquarium show on Kiss fm, way before they hit the commercial route, Carl Davis the Chicago producer is the brains behind this female backed sax classic
WWIN in Baltimore used to play this in the morning at 700am and either name neighborhoods or High Schools while it was playing. In the late 70's. Good ole times!
"Windy City" had already been quite popular for about 15 years before Norman Jay condescended to play it ! - My mate and I both had the Chi-Sound 7", in early 1977!
@kels94 Chilly Childs wasn't the first to play this tune. Jay Johnson would play this song in his sign-off rotation when he was on radio station WVON. I would always listen just to hear this song. Chilly just picked it up. I just don't when she did.

Music like this will never pass away.

Norman Jay himself used this song back in 1990 to open his first show on the new legalized Kiss 100 FM in London.

This version is pretty cool but I believe the 1977 version some of you have mentioned takes the cake.
It wasn't rare in 1977 when Neil Rushton was selling them @25p each, and couldn't shift them all!
