• MY NEW R35 GTR!!! -~-
This past week I picked up this saab for the sole purpose to steal the wheels and tires off of it to put on my daily driver! I have always wanted this style of aero wheel for my car and finally stumbled across the right deal. I was originally gonna sell it as a mechanic special but after looking further into the "head gasket issue" i decided just to fix it as the problem was not as severe as the seller made it seem!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Thanks for watching and have a great day!
love your videos man!
How much do you want for it?
When do we get to see the crashed 9-3 V6 you bought? I really look forward to you restoring it. It was the first video of yours i saw, and subbed to see more.
MotionAutoTv So basically you bought a car that had supposedly "blown headgasket" but had Transmission fluid problem & radiator hose problem for $400. But you fixed for less then that.
You basically bought a car worth $4000 for $400. A fully functional car. I wouldn't sell it if I were you. A second daily when the other SAAB has problems. Happy Thanksgiving
MotionAutoTv do the thing with haggard garage
Don't scrap it, no saab deserves that...., Make it a side project if you have a saab heart. For saab crazy people like me this is one more reason to follow you ;)
Yea i kind of like those saabs too, im hyped up to see what he does with the crashed red saab 9-3 that he bought. We will probably have to wait until after the supra project is done tho. But that's fine by me i love supras too :D
I had to scrap my 96 900 vert after the engine blew up on me. It knocked terribly one day on my way home from school and that was it for her. Lasted 240,000 problem free miles.
I worked at Saab in '98-01 so there is a 50% chance that I build some part of that car. I didn't do that hose though. :)
Sure ya didn't buddy. I think we found the hose maker.
@ulf-kenneth im interested in a 03-05 9-3 saab i heard saabs are reliable cars are they . i just wanna know before i buy one ?
holy shit, glad ur ok! Love your vids and channel. This is a nice switch up from all that body work youve been doing
The new wheels look nice, nicer than the old ones. Definitely some spacers would look mint
Hybrid swaps are very common for these cars... Take a 2.3 block out of a 9k and put the T7 head on it with the 9000 cams... slap a 19t and a tune in it and you have a 350hp reliable daily... You can get running 9000 parts cars for CHEAP
Happy thanksgiving to you as well!! Thank you for the Video, can't wait to see more about the Supra
Love everything about this. Great video. Entertaining, informative, great story! Even better, you saved a SAAB and put some nice rims on your daily. Keep it up!
What a pleasant video to watch. HUGE Volvo 240 fan and always had an interest in a Saab. My original lust for a Saab was the older 2 strokes and of course the Sonnet. Thanks buddy, I'm going to subscribe. I think you're a natural at this so I look forward to more of your work. Thanks so much!
wow! I can't believe how much you guys have grown! I remember watching supra pt1 you guys had 38k subs! we now 50k later!
Roughly 4:00 "I guess this thing is... a little upset". That made my day!
Got those same wheels on the 9-5 I picked up two months ago, but mine were badly chipped and scrapped everywhere. Fixed them up and painted them white, and they're absolutely stunning. They look so good on Saabs when they're clean
By far my favourite youtube channel
Respect for driving a Saab, Best regards from Sweden :)
Love Your Content Man!
happy Thanksgiving Trevor
hopefully next year around this time you'll be ripping around in something a little better 👍
i bought the same kind of wheels for my 9-3 this summer for 200$. U got a good deal!
I just bought a 9-3 2.0t and love it! Worth fixing
I've never heard "bartle doo" used in a complete sentence. Bravo 👏
Hell yeah! Great video. Nice work saving the SAAB. Not many people would bother.
Holy hell that radiator is a PITA to remove compared to a normal Japanese car.
Glad you weren't seriously injured.
Got 1 Saab 9-3 vector 1.8 2004 atm
Buying a 9-3 aero v6 2007 this Saturday.
Pretty hyped that you also love Saab :D
The wagon looks great with those wheels!
Dude I've been looking for those wheels for months! Nice buy.
great videos, hope all is well
Great find and fix.
Happy things giving
"radiator hose just said 'bartledoo'" haha Bass Master!!!
Good video had bad luck and great luck with that Saab in just a few days.
Wow. I started watching your videos; I didn't realize all this cool stuff was happening in my backyard! Are you planning on bringing the Supra to any events at PPIR next year?
Hey man, I daily a 9-3 aero, love the car, and you have a nice wagon! For perfect fitment on those wheels you want to run 15mm spacers in the front and either 20 or 25 in the back. Yeah having a wider track in the back on a FWD car will increase understeer, but that's not a noticeable issue if you aren't actually tracking the car hard. The 15 and 25 setup is perfect for the rims you have. And IMO you should put the car on Koni yellows with vogtland race springs. That's the suspension setup I run and love it. Mine lowered the car 35MM, but I wish I had gone with the 40MM springs though, for that little bit more drop haha. Just thought I'd give you my two cents man. Keep up the great videos!
Damn, I need to start checking Craigslist when I work in Denver, that's a good buy, I miss my old 05' 9-3 turbo. Good buy man.
I almost bought that car when I saw it ( I troll Denver CL a few times a week for Saabs ). Sorry to say that I'm glad it popped on you and not me!
Thank you for an awesome video
Those dual 5-spokes looks sweet!
I dont rmmber when i subed to this channel but i think i subed bcz the intro is intense lmaoo
Saabs are great little cars. I work at a shop that works on them and daily a silver 02 93 just like that one. I love my saab it's a great daily.
man I miss my Saab I had. it was a 04 arc. I would love to find an older one.
Nice score, those wheels are sick! I picked up a Saturn for dirt cheap with the same issue... Radiator broke internally and was mixing tranny fluid and coolant.
always good to wear safety glasses when working around cars. good to see ur ok tho.
saabs are truly dope cars. If the parts weren't so expensive I would own another one.
I like the upgraded ones and I think the spacers would add to the look.
My family imported our first SAAB 900 in mid '85 from Sweden. That car still ran up until a couple of years ago ; but it was maintained pretty religiously. I started boosting Volvo's years ago (started with a turbo brick, 760) ; all these small liter turbo cars are much more enjoyable with a boost controller and fuel remap / ecu tuning. Just my 2 cents. My s60 has just intake, T5 turbo ; chip, and boost controller ; and that car pulls past stock American v8's without hesitation and really eats them up from 40mph-60mph . Sleeper daily drivers are the way 2 go
I completely agree!
happy Thanksgiving trever...
Hey bud not hatin watch your videos all the time but I noticed you never make eye contact with the camera if you do you look away fast your a good looking guy with good content on your channel be proud an calm stare straight in the camera like you mean it
Mallory Kennedy hes doing other shit
Mallory Kennedy that makes for some really fucking weird content
Mallory Kennedy oh yeah Trevor's fucking hot 🔥
Had these wheels on my '04 93 Aero...definitely one of the nicer wheels that came on the second gen 93's
I had the same rims (ALU50) you bought on my 9-3, swapped them out for the newer ones called ALU90. I still have those rims and they do look nice. Maybe i should mount them on my 9-5.
fuuu, glad you're ok!
I had a Mercedes that was mixing coolant and transmission fluid, it looked the same, sold it. I miss that car, it was fun.
Spacers would do the job a treat mate. Imo they would look even better if you painted them gloss black. Great job with the channel btw 👍
for cleaning out contaminated cooling systems on comercial trucks, the sunlife dishwasher ditergant - powder. that stuff is amazing
You put gas in your power stroke?? Not recommended lol just messing around haha love the vids man!!
Dude I swear I saw that Saab pulled at the side with a massive cloud of smoke coming out the hood in downtown Denver!
iRepTurtless haha probably was!
I bought a 2002 Saab 95 for $400. It was smoking like crazy, guy thought it was the headgasket but it was actually a blown turbo. Replaced the turbo and had to clean out the intercooler and radiator of nasty old coolant and oil and it runs great. It was driven jn the city so it had some major scratches so I used some bondo and paint and it's good as new. I'm going to sell it, should be good profit.
one of my biddies has a 06 saab 93. only difference is his is fullt built. awesome cars.
Ah man, I could tell you're local and from the thumbnail I thought you got the car that's been one of our tuning customer's. I was about to have to fill you in on a funny story. But this thankfully is a different car. Anyways, nice score! And check out Swede Fleet or Swede Fleet Tuning if you're ever bored. We can make your Saabs faster!
Nice video, man.
Damn! Glad you're alright lol
I remember replacing a radiator on one of those liftback styled Saabs from the 90s and it was a pain the rear end.
Love the OGs
The new wheels look great.
@motivetv you have a wonderful fashion taste in cars
Thanks!
Right now u can do reel steels with saab`s. Bought myself a 02 9-5 2,3 Aero sportwagon 250 bhp for.. 215 $. only needed to clean oil pickup and change rotors+pads and sparkplugs oil+filter... nice comfy cars... did u make any money on the 9-3.
Nice vid... did u change the thermostat 2?...
Nice wheels...... greetings from the saab origin country ;-)
Easiest way to determine a blown head gasket (which I am sure this guy already knows, but for other people) is get the car to operating temperature, check the coolant reservoir carefully (not the radiator) and if the coolant is boiling instead of sitting fairly still, you have blown head gasket, also the coolant will get hot quickly and over heat
Hub Centric spacers with the studs will do wonders. I have 15mm on the Front and 25mm on the rear of my GS300. Looks much much better with my stock 16s.
I thought that you were going to reference the Jeremy Clarkson review of the XJ-220. The hell boost lag reference. Check it out, much awesome!
My first car was a manual 2002 Saab 9-5 aero fucking loved that shit then sold it to my buddy and he totaled it a month later lol
awesome video
Great car! Looks like it was in mint condition. Too bad you didn't need a daily driver. Greetings from a Saab 9-5 driver
you should keep it so you can do a project on it and at the end of the day either keep it or sell it like you did with the 240sx
SPORT changes the gear shifting rev. Takes out a little more of the boost :P
I didn't see where you flushed the cooling system to get the anti freeze out of it, as a retired diesel mechanic we had this problem often.Your sensors could be coated with trans fluild and not be giving you good readings. great videos
That milkshake shit SCREAMs headgasket, especially being an 01 Saab with (from the dash shot) roughly 150k miles? Yeah, your works not over man. That coolant flush was all for naught
TD04 turbo
Nice. Have you watched the new Grand Tour?
You uploaded early, jezuz
i have a 2005 saab 9-3 t as my daily driver work car and i love the damm thing .....35+mpg quick and like you said just interesting and different. only down side is parts are kinda pricey and the whole tech 2 programming thing cause they are computerized everything .....but you know i have the same car as your red one but sedan ...just put a new ecm in it and she is back going strong
Anyone else laugh when he said "guess it just comes out like a big poop"
fun fact: saab ecotec and HFV6 is a colaboration by General Motors Powertrain , Lotus Engineering and Ricardo. the s button makes the gearbox shift later/rev higher before shifting . i dont think it changes the tune
Hey man just finished the new "new supra" video and was curious as if you sold the saab and how much for? or have I missed it somewhere?
Lmfao "it said bartle doo"
a common problem with this engine is that the head bolts stretch. there is a retorque procedure u can follow and i would recommend it.
My stepdad bought that same car for $400 too but it was manual. Yours is in way better condition.
Not trying to be an ass but with how you slowly explain the mess and then turn around and point at the one clean area on the honda crv and say "This is where I was standing", I was laughing pretty hard
Been looking for a Saab are wagon for a daily, mint af
Had a Thunderbird that had a noise that sounded like a tick or exhaust leak. So I fire it up and climb under a minute in and the lower hose blew all over me. 2nd degree and a couple spots 3rd degree burns. I scramble out and rip my shirt off eith some skin attached to it. Spent quite some time in pain andf in and out of the burn rehab center. Lucky you got away the way you did.
I don't know how you can make that disgusting shit sound so appetizing
Happy Thanksgiving
a $400 milkshake maker
One more thing: Do the spacers! It'll look great.
omg fuck that was scary glad your okay bro
Supras and Saabs my same 2 cars also! (Mkiv TT auto euro spec & 9-3 1.9 Tdi sports wagon. What's your 9-3 engine?)
What a great find :) amazing that it was a few hours work and it's ready to sell on to someone else. You're damn lucky you didn't have your face near that pipe when it went... could have been terrible. Don't eat too much turkey :p
Never tought of Italy as a place known for quality.
Nice save. What are you looking to get for it?
I would also do a transmission filter too
Your red saab, wider and lower (just a bit) and will look awesome
It's actually a GM ecotec engine. They started in 2002 and most of the parts are interchangeable between the heads and blocks. They had direct injection and multiport injection. Awesome motors though. GM made a 1500hp one back in like 03 or 04.
Hoses get old and go spliut near the head, happened to me on an old 9000, didn't explode in my face thankfully!
You could probably flip that for 2000$
25 to 60 in 9 seconds is a freight train lmao
