Interesting montage. They sort of underscore the bluesy under-pinning. Is it true that all of the photos are original to Fosco Maraini though? I imagine that Ane Brun sang and played the guitar herself, and was accompanied only by the violinist. I hope that ms brun knows how much we like this.
Love the voice, but cant say the same for the choice of song. Nina Simone was a woman of great passion with a strong voice despite unjust disadvantage. This song is essentially a song of triumph and celebration. Something the intentionally frail voice of an equally as unjustly privileged woman can't do justice to or change. Big in Japan is fair game, but this is not, Ane.
