    Hello Pam and Everyone! Prayers & Blessings to All!! 🙏 I always admired how well you grow in containers!! Your herbs are a-m-a-z-i-n-g indeed. I saw a British guys on YT doing the same thing and he said he never runs out of basil. I put some in my aerogarden and when it has roots I transfer them in my soil pot. I've started growing basil and dill hydroponically under lights and they are doing very well along with Red Garnet Amaranth, and fenugreek which has great health affects. I guess I don't have a green thumb, but I keep trying thanks to your encouraging words!! 💗 NOTE: When I do cut up the leaves to propogate, I cut up and put them inside an ice cube tray, fill with oil to cover and freeze. Next day, pop them out and put into plastic bags. When you go to make spaghetti (I just LOVE spaghetti), take out one ice cube and add it to your sauce. YUM! 🤩

      Oh Mari. What a wonderful idea! Do you mind if a do a little shorts video on that! I usual just use mine fairly quickly but that’s a good idea even for regular basil. Hmmmm now I need to find my ice trays lol. ♥️♥️

      Yes yes! Rosemary too. I haven’t had the need to do rosemary. It’s an evergreen and I’ve had mine four 4 years now I just keep trimming it. It grows through the winter where I am too. Thanks Stacey! 💪🏽

    ❤ Wow great information! I had the same problem with not being able to grow much. Also my other problem was that I'd been noticing over the past years that the basil would get moldy at the bottom and start coming up the plant, so I usually throw them out when this happens. I normally pick them up from kroger, Trader joes or sprouts. Maybe I need to start my own basil plant. I live in atlanta and I have read abt the mold condition that sometimes affect basil plants. Have you heard of this? Do you think its from buying the starters in the stores? Would planting from seed be better?
    BTW I love chopped up fresh basil and cream cheese on a bagel yum!!!

    • @TheScaredyCatGardener
      @TheScaredyCatGardener  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If the plants don’t have mold when you buy them it’s not the stores. Try this: get a new basil plant (just 1 as a test) start with a clean and dry pot. Add new soil. If you are growing in ground do this test in a pot. If you are already using a pot dump the soil from an existing pot and start with new soil. Mix some cinnamon into the soil then plant the basil. Lightly water it in then let it dry out before you water it again. Make sure if you have more than one plant in the one you buy you separate them. You can plant them all in one pot but make sure the pot is big enough to space them about 8 inches apart. From there don’t over water it and let it dry in between watering. Give it some 511 fertilizer once a week at one of your waterings. Let me know how it turns out
