SF Giants blasphemy, but as much as I dislike Buck, I actually prefer his call over Jon Miller. I love Jon but it sounded like he was sure that the game was over lol. In contrast, this may have been one of Buck's best calls ever.
I remember seeing Ishikawa hit 3 HRs against Cleveland in spring training some years back. I never expected him to go throw the trials and tribulations in his career that he did, and I remember watching this at-bat thinking " He's got this". I was hoping for a base hit, realistically, but man. Couldn't have happened to a better dude. This game was everything. Craw and Shark's D, Morse's pinch hit HR..And the cherry on top. SO proud to be a Giants fan.
I was watching this game in Hawaii with my family at an outside pool area. I was in the water with all my clothes still on by the time Ishikawa touched home plate.
Interesting how Joe Buck said Travis Ishikawa could make everyone forget his misplay in left earlier in the game. He basically called it, and looking back on it, I think that's one of the reasons he got so animated by the last swing of the game.
For those who dont know Travis ishikawa was not even in baseball to start the 2014 season! That has to be one of the best feel good moments in playoff baseball in the last 10 years!
Blessed to be there for my first postseason game, me and my best friend celebrating both our 30th birthdays. Not only are we die-hard Giants fans but fans of Ishi, and damn what an ending. Firstly, I thought Morse's HR was foul so that was a nice surprise, but then the walkoff... I remember vividly trying to calculate how we could win during his AB, if he just pokes one then it's done. And when he hit it from my perspective (Bleachers 144) it looked like MAYBE a fly out, so I was trying to calculate "ok now maybe Arias can tag up to 3rd then we just need Crawford to-----" and then the crowd erupts. What a fucking night.
Also the fact that, in an elimination game, 9th inning, tie game, you gotta give credit to Boch for sticking with Ishikawa and not bringing Juan Perez as a defensive replacement (especially after the play in the 3rd that cost a run).
I would just like to say that I am a Mets fan who comes back and watches every Giants postseason video from 2010-2014 once a year, I was an honorary giants fan for these World Series runs, and I find great joy coming back to watch them, so from this point on, I will respond with a comment every year when I get back to this video
I miss the Giants playoff/championship runs. It was electric, watching these guys put it all on the line, come together and make history was something truly remarkable. Here’s to hoping the Giants can once again be World Series Champions.
Bay Area born and raised, my first Giants game was at the Stick in 1964, when the only thing separating the players and the SF bay, was a cyclone fence, Been watching Giants baseball thru all the years and great players, including Bonds, even made it to the Stick for the final game of the World series.. only to watch the A's win. Some good years, some not so much, until 2010 thru 2014 when it all finally came together. Pitching was precision and they knocked the ball around pretty good. Nice to see your team sitting on top for a while..
These Giants teams were very underrated. Some of the best ERA and WHIP teams in MLB history. Very few teams have compared. 2000s Yankees teams. Seriously though these 2010,2012,2014 Giants teams were incredibly and historically very good
Even though Mad Bum wasn't the best regular season pitcher, his postseason stats are absolutely incredible and in all honesty he deserves to be in the HOF next to Posey. Bumgarner has some of the best postseason stats in all of MLB history. Lincecum was insane as well. Cain could've had a better career had the Giants gave him more run support during his career. A few pitchers during the Giants 3 in 5 could be HOFs Satiago Casilla also deserves his respect. One of the couple pitchers active for all 3 WS wins Travis Ishikawa has his place in SF Giants history. Back and forth with us but one of the biggest swings in our history
Everytime I come back to this I'm absolutely baffled at Matheny's decision to put Wacha in for the 9th after not pitching for nearly a month, then leaving him in
Your highlights are awesome. I only wish you'd give a bit more time to great plays. Like the double play in the top of the first, for example. However, THANKY OU FOR THOSE! I've watched all of hem.
I've posted this on another video but all Ishikawa needed was a clean single, Arias was going to score. What he got was a MOMENT, that will live forever in Giants history. Not nearly Bobby Thompson but not bad either.
I still think Ishikawa should have been NLCS MVP instead of Mad Bum. And not solely based on the game-ending HR. Sure, he made a defensive error in this game, but he also had the bases-clearing triple in Game 3. Mad Bum had the stellar Game 1 start and an average Game 5 start -- not enough for NLCS MVP. Mad Bum definitely deserved the WS MVP though.
That Crawford play in the 9th was huge wow
gotta give Sandoval (idiot Buck calls him "Santiago") for tipping the ball his way
@@CHilla415 No he didn’t.

Man the Giants own the cardinals in the NLCS 2002,2012,2014
They're 15-9 against them in their history.
They did get us in '87 in 7 games

I forgot about his error until i watched this video today so buck was right
6 straight balls then give up a Home Run to lose the series that’s a rough outting
I jus think of PacMan with him... Wacha wacha wacha wacha wacha...
I miss Panik. I just wish he could’ve stayed consistent offensively
He unfortunately couldn't stay healthy.
too many concussions will do that to a man.

I was delivering a pizza when Mike Morse came up. They didn't tip me. But Michael Morse did.
Wow. It's hard not to live in the past when us Giants fans were treated to such an amazing half decade. Lucky us!

The 3rd time Mike Matheny lost to the Giants in the NLCS wearing a Cardinals uniform in San Francisco.
2002, 2012 and 2014
Probably the most exciting game I’ve ever seen live. The excitement and electricity in the air that night was unbelievable.
I've never been a fan of Joe buck but that "Travis Ishikawa.. Hits one itto right" gives me chills everytime
How about "MORSE... OFF THE BENCH"
Same. He actually was SOMEWHAT tolerable this post-season, but Harold Reynolds was terrible.
Buck was great that series.
The Buck hate needs to stop, by 2013 he stopped being so obviously homer-ish, and turned solid.

Better then Bobby cause they ended up winning it all
That was a terrible idea to bring out Wacha in a high stress situation. Thank you Matheny 🥳
