Can We Build A Ford Model A From This Pile Of Scraps???

- Mike recently realized we have an entire 1928 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan in pieces in our warehouse, and a rolling chassis at the shop. Mike challenged Matt and the crew to attempt to assemble a full body from a pile of parts. There's plenty that could go wrong with a pile of parts that didn't come from the same car and then are attempted to be bolted together. Let's hope the Model A can be bolted back together and Matt can win the bet!!

Goes to show that Ford had the mass production of these cars figured out pretty well. This was a very neat video to watch!
Morning Matt, Steve & Matt's Dad, this will be a good start for someone, that was a pretty good idea Mike had!!! Be safe!! God Bless!!
Hey Matt. Since you, you’re dad and Steve beat Mike’s challenge I think he should take you three out to the most fancy restaurant in Pennsylvania a treat you three to a T-bone steak dinner with all of the trimmings. 😁
Shady Maples
GREAT VIDEO MATT!!!!! I OFTEN WONDERED HOW A MODEL A FITS TOGETHER!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!! I LOVE THE MODEL A. IT IS SO SIMPLE AND BASIC TO BUILD!!!!
You know your bigtime, when you've got complete cars laying around the yard, great job guys.
Love the idea, Love the challenge, Love the car! Well done guys!
Great job! The "Earl Schib" jingle/ad was "I will paint any car, any color for $29.95". And occasionally there would be a$10.00 coupon in the paper. The secret to a real good job was to do your own prep and have them just spray the car. did a lot of them back in the day. The "assembly" you did brought back memories of "back in the day" welding together pieces of late 30's and 40 Ford coupes for "stock cars" .
george parker I remember Earl Schibe as well .Some people that lived down the street from when I was a kid took their 1967 Chevy station wagon to Earl and they painted Everything .Door handles mirrors I don't know how the bumpers did not get painted maybe they ran out of paint.
Great job on a fun video...... and for showing Mike up.
Looks like Matt’s dad is having fun.
This is a great starter project
Cool I just bought a 30 A in pieces nice to see how it's supposed to go together I know I'm missing some parts lol. 👍
ROD & CUSTOM IS ALIVE AND WELL IN 2022!!!!
Very entertaining, liked the yellowjackets.
I like the challenge! it's nice to see bits from different buys from around the country all come together in the form of a roller "in an afternoon". And come together as a piece you can get back into circulation for someone on a budget.
Yep that’s the goal!
Great video. Henry Ford wouldn't be too annoyed....lol!
“5-hours,” “12-hours,” makes no difference, time well spent when you are having fun.
Great video thanks for posting
Very cool great video ty Steve
Good job chaps , a decent starter project for someone .
GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE.
Cool video and a fun project. 👍👍👍👍
Mike that was a great idea and it was fun to watch ! Thank you for the challenge !
That old Merc was incredible. My father had a white 66 Mercury Montrey with the roll down back window and as kids we would stand on the back seat with our heads and arms out on the back deck while flying down the highway. He always joked we had 440 air conditioning, 4 windows down 40 mph AC.
Success! Good project with respect for the car. Onward!
That’s how I’m building my 28 closed cab pickup, it’s been once piece at a time here and there. All I need are subrails and running boards still.
It must feel really good to be able to roll a car into the shop and not have to move other vehicles around. That upstairs storage is a blessing. Wish I had the extra space to do something like that. Maybe my next property. Keep posting videos and having fun.
It's really cool that you put it together, some of those parts you nearly left behind in WV!
That's a cool little car and it has a lot of potential, nice job guy's 👍
One of my favorite body styles.
Nice job guys fire it up
Great entry level project. If I had more room I would think about it.
Good job Looks Great
Hell, I wish I could find parts like those. Wow. That would be a dream come true
Great video to watch, easy to do when you have the bits laying around. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Would be a great start for a father son project ! I did that 54 years ago with my Dad's Model T Touring Car That I own today !
Those parts are more solid than the rough body I built my hotrod out of. That includes the front crossmember of the frame, because mine had a hole at the center from being worn by the front spring.
Basically, a full-size model OF a Model A. I hope somebody sees a future for it. That was a fun video.
Loved this video and I love the car which is strange because I usually like the curved body style better ! Thank you for sharing this with me !
Luv the run flats
That looks like a good start, now if you were on this side of the country
That's really cool
So, Mike brought you all those parts. Now Mike has a clean driveway . Good job, Mike!
Yard art!!
This should be a great watch...thanks for the episode, steve, helene and fred the dog
Enjoyed the build, but to be fair, you already had a complete rolling chassis, CW engine, gbox, axles, diff, steering and wheels !!
That's pretty cool to see you get that you and your dad and Steve get that done and met Mike's challenge and if I had extra money to spare I probably take that on as a project to do with me my son and my wife but life has tolls and bills have to be paid
How about a sedan delivery conversion? Be great to watch you make a back door.
I agree, they already have a shop truck, now Mike could have a delivery sedan to go with it.
Only at the Iron Trap Garage could anyone build a car out of pieces that are laying around. Good job Guys.
Roof art for the shop!
I new you could do it great job
OMG, I would love to get into this... :( sadly I don't have a garage. Looking for a new home now and trying to setup for a spot to enjoy retirement with car stuff. Great video!
i'm building a t-bucket outside in new england, on the dirt. wish me luck!
@@Ecosse57 Yeah, my current neighbors would turn me in for having a junk yard 🤣 I've contained myself this long, I wan wait a wee bit longer. There will always be something somewhere to work on.
I was hoping this wasn't going to be another project car. I can't wrap my head around all the projects going on in the shop as it is. Cool project for someone else. Great job!
Nahhhhh this one is for someone else!
nice one matt
It's a 3-D crossword puzzle!
its amazing u guys rock
Fun project! Doesn’t sound like that scroll compressor. Whew!
Yea we’re redoing our air line plumbing and had to use the spare compressor!
6:33 Is that a Craftsman type air compressor running ? Thanks.
I think you could sell it quicker as a complete car than in pieces. Put some rubber on it also.
That project was great and very quick assembly, thanks for sharing it with us, I have a question, could you use sandblasting with the water power pressure? From the endless summer paradise Puerto Rico Jesus Torres.
Very nice job you took a pile of parts and made it worth about a $3,500 car
Iron trap airfix kit, ild buy it
Maybe a two seater/hachback/deliver van ??? Nice.
Hey Matt, I know it has been a while since I’ve messaged you. I’m hitting on the tail end of the 1966 F350 I’ve been restoring for the owner of the company I work for.
I’m really pushing and hoping to get it done and see if I can take it to fall Carlisle along with the 32 Ford truck B model, if I do get it done and bring it to Carlisle I hope to run into you and Mike.
Take care and hopefully see you then.
With all the parts you guys have I would think you could put together a couple more cars.
I liked it , Have You ever extended a Model A frame ? I got a Flat heas 6 a guy replaced with a V 8 , i8t is to good of a Engine to just Toss , I am thinking a Rat Rod
You guys are having waaaay too much fun, although, when you love what you’re doing it almost becomes child’s play.
Keep on keeping on!
You forgot the lighter with the brake clean, works wonders on nests
Man I’d love to be able to get this shipped to the uk
Get it shipped in knocked down form. You might want one with a right hand steer though.
We could easily palletize this and ship it over! Even if you just want it without the frame! Send us an email if interested. Irontrapgarage@gmail.com
Sadly living in england the chances of getting to build somthing like this is unlikely for me..but really enjoyed watching you guys put this little gem together.steve, helen and fred the dog
some of the early english fords make great hot rods... just scaled down a wee bit.
but i get your point.
Yep..they sure do..prices are so ridiculously high though..I'd be happy with a Austin 7 but few and far between
So this is the replacement for the $20 challenge......cool
You guys are ready for the Ford assembly line!
HOT RODDERS ARE THE FIRST RECYCLERS!!!!!
You guys truly able to make ice cream out of horse crap. Terrific video.
Damn! My wife would kill me. But man!. That would be so cool.
Clear it, Yard Art !
Bring them back from the grave. I've done a few of these,ez to get someone started on a budget.
What would a project car like that cost to buy +/- ?
It's great to watch these videos and see how the early Ford's are pretty simple to assemble.
Another great video.
I believe they have it listed for $2,500
Fun video. I miss your end of the month video though.
We still do end of the month lives. We’ll be doing one next Sunday! Technically that’s the last day of the month!
@@IronTrapGarage Sorry about that. I missed that on the calender.
I have a full 29 tudor body. From the bottom up. Both front fenders, grill, hood, and original headlights and mount. I wanna have a chassis built by BolingBrothers for like 7k.
Awesome video. Now put on some tires and do a "Will it run" video.
Challenge part 2.......restores pile of parts all the way back to factory stock "original" and it goes on to win awards at Hershey and Macungie with it😉👍
$5000 ran when parked😂😂😂🤠
I watched a video recently which maintained that this is how the "rat rod" Phenomenon got started.
chop it chop it chop it
Has Matt been watching the 70's British Leyland factory training films on building Austin ,Rover, Jaguar cars?
where's the big tube of testors glue?
Good.
What’s under the car cover
Not bad. Just like they did it back in Detroit. 😁
For 2500$ thats a friggin steel....im a couple hrs away...but i have 2 projects going on now....it has alot of potential.....
What kind of price on that a sedan. ? Interested in purchase
$2500
As a practical matter, how well would a restored Ford Model A fare as an everyday car on today’s roads and highways? I’ve always loved the type since my 1951 Mercedes 4-door was my regular transportation in 1960s Germany.
People have done it. The motors don’t last like todays do, and regular maintenance is a must, but it’s doable if you don’t mind driving 45-50mph
Call it special delivery
DOES BROOKVILLE REPRODUCE ALL THESE PARTS NEW? JUST SOMETHING TO CONSIDER.
A little clearance problem so adjust it with a BFH ! 😆 🤣 if anyone has been in the military they'll know what I meant ! 😆 🤣 😂
U got woody. Lol
Grownup LEGOS. Great job.
needs a for sale sign
Wow. I'm #1.
#STAYSAFE
#PHILLYPHILLY 🇺🇸
What you got under the dark cover
I believe that is the Free T which is restored
Shouldn't that be upstairs with finished stuff
I'll give you a hunnerd bucks for that if you throw in the vice grips.
Facebook marketplace be like “9k FIRM. I know what I got.”
