What a beautiful stylish car. You can tell it has good bones and will be a stunner once it is restored ! I like your shell sign! It's running, where are the big billowing clouds of smoke? I thought they were mandatory on a start up, for a car that has not ran in lots of years. Great video, thanks for posting this, I found it educational and informative. I can't wait to see this car totally restored to better than new condition !

Hi Matt and Mike This is Charlotte Grossarth…I live in Ft. Myers Fl. Pete is a friend of ours for many years. My husband would talk to Pete on the phone…that’s how we learned about Iron Trap Garage. We both would watch all your videos. My Husband passed 4 months ago…I still watch Iron Trap. I spoke to Pete about you Matt…I love your Pod Casts. In watching this one I relate to what you are saying about guys saying…”I’m not going to do this car stuff any more…I have to get out of it”. But then before they know it they are buying more old stuff…cars and parts. We have and my husband “had” the greatest car friends!! The comradery between them all is a blessing. And many of these guys were wonderful to me in helping with my husbands cars and “stuff” after his passing. Because they loved him. During season here in Ft. Myers there will be about 25 of these guys…every Thursday morning they meet at one of the guys garage….they call it “Cars and Coffee”. Coffee and donuts as they all sit around talking about their. cars…car problems and anything car oriented. These same guys would come to my husbands garage to help him in any way they could on his car project. I want to tell you there is a very strong connection with each one of these guys…specially my husband to what they do….to their cars….building their cars…accumulating car parts all of it.. This is what keeps all these guys going. A focus in life of what they love. Yes it gets frustrating at times… maybe they get tired…and threaten to stop what they love doing but it will never happen. They will never let go. Stop and do what? They are connected deeply to their craft….connected deeply to each other. My husband Rich still kept a connection to his car friends where we lived in NY and all area around. Moving to Fl. In 2016 did not relinquish those friendships and cars. While in Fl. he made many new friends with that same desire. If you want to do an an amazing interesting Pod Cast and Garage video come to Fl. anytime in Jan. Thru May….go to “”Cars and Coffee” and do a Pod Cast with 25 guys….and then go to some of their garages where you will see their lives…..what keeps them going….what makes them happy…what gives them quality of life. All close by. I was so very grateful for the many many decades that Rich had building cars…giving him a focus in life of something he loved dearly. He had a heart disease for 20 years. It’s all the buying..selling…building the love of it all that kept him alive…he loved helping other guys with whatever there issue was with cars. There are ups and downs and they all get frustrated at times but they will never give up…. Thank you Matt for all you do….thank you for being kind and understanding. Thank you for all your videos and your Pod Casts that add to what all these guys love….it puts quality in their lives. Please come to Ft. Myers and visit a village of wonderful “real car men” who love what they do to the end. On the day Rich died he asked to call a few of the guys one at a time….to have a last car talk and he told them how much they meant to him. Thank you……Charlotte Grossarth….

Never was a big Ford guy. However, this is the epitome of hotrod history. Nothing like it. Never will be.

Funny story. Many years ago i helped my brother-in-law pull the 302 motor out of his Maverick due to smoking. We sat it next to the tree where we pulled it. It say there uncovered for several years. One day the motor we put in his car decided to throw a rod. So we pulled that motor back out. I asked what he was putting back in and he pointed to that motor that had sat there uncovered for years. We raised it up and drained what i guessed was a couple of gallons of water before any oil came out. We filled it with new oil and put it in and he drove it for a while before selling the car. I finally saw the Maverick in a junkyard later.

The VERY 1st CZcams video i've seen. After a decade of watching many different things. Matt used Proper English , saying Steve & I worked on....... Kudos. It was Very refreshing to hear. Yes i grew up with a Mom who is an English Major. So when i hear me & whoever, it's like nails on a chalkboard. Personal thing, i know, but was a breath of fresh air to hear those words. Steve I did 37yrs at AT&T as a repairman. The hardest to find problems are usually man made problems.
