He let the guy go because his in the same profession as Ray and he knew it was just a job and not personal for this guy.

Ray saw Dave was good at his job, true to his word, and a handy guy to work with in future. That's why he let him go. Dave had respect for him and that's all Ray cares about.
The car Ray was driving is his own car, that''s why he got back in it. I haven't actually seen the show yet, but I thing the guy he let go may have been in the army with Ray.

He went back to the car because he was in the middle of nowhere, needed to get home and he didn't think the kidnappers were gonna catch up to him.
Both Ray and Dave are professionals. They do it for a living, there's no personal animosity between them. Ray gets it, Dave gets it. That's why he let him go ^^

Exactly, they're in the same shoes, just different positions. Ray knows exactly why he did what he did and he doesn't take it personally.
